The reason I like your fabrication style is because it just seems to make sense to me. When you make something that other guys would spend 10 times the amount of time on,with great results, it's obvious who I need to be learning from.
When I saw the round rod you pulled out, all I keep thinking of Bad Chad from up near you might have tried to fix that fender. Well now it is going to get fixed right. Nice job as usual and always impressed.
Lol as soon as I read that I was like oh my god I bet your right lol bad Chad does that all the time lol good one loved it ty for making me lol my shirt off
I am so glad you burned through the thin metal on the edge, I had the same thing happen. I spent all this time getting my patch panel trimmed up and welded, and go to weld a small pin hole and boom I keep blowing through, and it showed that the metal was super thin. I could have easily made the patch bigger but I didn't and had to patch the patch. Glad to see the masters make the same mistake, it is just part of the job.
Fitzy, i feel your pain on that little square piece that was thin. In my mind, i was like, Fitzy too much heat, blow'in holes! Probably could have used some cool air. For you and that metal! Awesome work!
Brilliant. You work with the tools you got and you make it work. I love how you don’t over complicate things. Complex bends… you break it down into manageable chunks… makes it a lot easier and it’s just as good. Thanks again for your superb work and videos!
Chasing holes can be frustrating when you’re welding sheet metal. I sometimes find that when you keep chasing them it just gets worse. As soon as I blow a hole I let it cool down. When it gets hot it seems to get worse. Doesn’t always work but sometimes the heat just makes it worse. Love the video. I have learned so much from them.
Superb job Fitzee ..your instruction and approach to things seems to compute with me ! Where most people on here go straight over my head amazing work fella 👍
Well, it's back in the shop a lot more, now that it's August an it'll start freezing and snowing at Fitzee's place! Canadian weather jokes. That Chevy is coming along, despite what the master says! Those fenders came along amazing, too. I learn somethings ng every episode. Looking good!
Hi Tony. Nice repair on that old fender. It was quite a mess when you started. I think, in the end, the way you did it in multiple smaller pieces looks just as good as if you had spent hours to stretch and shrink that rolled edge in one piece. The end result looks fantastic!
A little tip for others. When you are making a panel over top of the original and you have access to the back, drill some holes in the original piece so that you can check that the new panel is flush from behind with the original. Otherwise, you are only able to check that it matches at the edge of the panel. It’s a simple alternative to making station templates.
another great job. I have sometimes not cut out enough bad metal and keep 'blowing through' til I have to add another piece of metal. Sorry, but it is good to see that I'm not the only one it happens to. Thanks for sharing
Hi Fitz I know the feeling some jobs seem like they are fighting you to the very end. That's what seperates tha men from the boy's stick with it you get you always do. Thanks Fitz
Your work inspired me to try and tackle the restoration of my dads old pickup, she's a small beauty like Crusty, built by Ford for the brazilian market in the 80's, and although I still have a long long way to go, your videos give me confidence that with enough time and patience I can get there eventually. Thank you Fitzee for all your videos, cheers from Brazil!
Really nice job on that repair Tony, you need to make your self a tucking fork it's a nice simple tool that would have helped a lot with shrinking the outside of the patch panel.
Oh Tony....friggin thin metal and blow through... I done some wheel arches on a chevy truck and I ended up having to buy the arches after. There wasn't enough metal left to weld to unless I wanted to put a larger piece in. Each time I made up the piece and welded it in, the same stuff kept happening the higher up I went. Get er done!
i have experimented with my bead roller using offset lower die with a male bead die. Play with the in/out until yuo get what you want. Gives a bit more wiggle room, as in tight corners. Also have the metal working set of rollers, can do some oddball things with different combos.
Friggin Great Job ! as usual ,most of us don't have a plennishing hammer or shrinker stretcher ,how would one go bout obtaining tht crown, cause you make look easy 😅
The tips are good, the craftsmanship is very visible, nothing beats you Fitzee....superb!!! ✌
Minimal basic tools, a lot of skill, a lot of time and a truck load of patience . Keep those video's coming, i love them.
Great video!😊
@@robertbisson964 and a boatload of patience!
Fitzee you have the patience of a saint ...

Skill and patience. I don’t have either. Nice job, Tony
May only be basic tools but you need a lot of skill to use them like you do. GREAT WORK!!!!!!!!
The automotive gods are pleased with your workmanship. 🧑🔧
17:33 - great example of a guy who is a metal wizard and showing us how to with basic hand tools ! …. Very inspiring to help me move forward on my car

The way you tackled this project made sense and you did it the way you showed us. One step at a time and don't over think it. It looks great!
Fitzy, i feel your pain on that little square piece that was thin. In my mind, i was like, Fitzy too much heat, blow'in holes! Probably could have used some cool air. For you and that metal! Awesome work!
Excellent workmanship! If you're embarrassed about using a template just tell yourself it's CAD: "cardboard aided design".
Brilliant. You work with the tools you got and you make it work. I love how you don’t over complicate things. Complex bends… you break it down into manageable chunks… makes it a lot easier and it’s just as good. Thanks again for your superb work and videos!

Wow!!! I wish i had a fraction of your knowledge.....
Complex curves and shape. Well done. The large tools take up so much space. It was good to see you breaking out the heavy artillery .
I love when Tony's talking to his friends about making metal repairs and they ask him what tools he uses and Tony just shows him his muscular thumbs 😁
Always a pleasure to watch you work. Direct, simple & easy to follow. Thank you!
I laughed at the thin metal welding, only because I`ve been there. Gotta give you props for the humility and patience.
Wow,that was amazing work there . Thanks for passing on your knowledge. Its an honor.
INCREDIBLE WORK! You should have been a heart surgeon. love your work ethic, Fitz.
Or brain surgeon.
We used a lead block to hammer into when I was a Tinsmith, you should weld the ring to a heavy plate.
You know I never thought of that. I usually weld it to the bench. I like your idea better. Thanks
Nice job Fitzee. God bless
Nice work, Tony.
It's good to see that Peanut was keepin' an eye on ya. ;)
Superb job Fitzee ..your instruction and approach to things seems to compute with me ! Where most people on here go straight over my head amazing work fella 👍
That one tested your patience 😂😂 nice repair Tony 👍
Boy, you pulled out all your fancy tools on this one. LOL. Fantastic.
Love it Fitzy, I watch all your videos but this one is sublime 👌

Thank you for the Video…..Greetings from Germany 😊
Thanks Tony, it looks so nice this side. Peanut was happy as well, so all good!
Best wishes, have a great week ahead. Cheers 👍💪✌

Good tips again Tony

You make it look easy Tony
Master fabricator!
great video i have 53 chev that needs some work like this thanks
Great job with that fender, those are tricky and difficult to find any solid examples, great save Tony
Really nice job on that repair Tony, you need to make your self a tucking fork it's a nice simple tool that would have helped a lot with shrinking the outside of the patch panel.
Thanks for the tips. Helped me out repairing a rider deck.
Great job there Mistro
Excellent work 👍
Nice job. Looks really good. 👍

Sorry Fritzee I forgot your a very talented man.❤😊
I noticed that too Tony right away that the fender was a quite a bit thinner skinned than normal but you gotter as you always do. Looks good .....
Great tutorial as usual
Looks good, nice work. Factory probably wasn’t perfect.
i have experimented with my bead roller using offset lower die with a male bead die. Play with the in/out until yuo get what you want. Gives a bit more wiggle room, as in tight corners. Also have the metal working set of rollers, can do some oddball things with different combos.
they beat that fender into tinfoil - nice save
Super fun to watch and pretend I can do it. We will see. thank you
Friggin Great Job ! as usual ,most of us don't have a plennishing hammer or shrinker stretcher ,how would one go bout obtaining tht crown, cause you make look easy 😅
Alot of hours. Can be done. Shrinking would be the biggest issue
This imposter definitely looks like Fitzy, but obviously with the electric powered bead roller, and template, can't be him 🤣
Makin it real... love your show
Great work .
I just picked up a used bead roller. Let the modifications to it begin. ⚡️
That's
Best looking part of the whole fivedner
Man what a difference in sheet metal movement when you reattached angle iron support L will have to remember tha idea when I repair my model a fenders
Great job 👏
Good to see the bead roller.
Blowing through like when I was welding my suzuki.
Now i know it ! YOU are the Metal God Judas Priest sings about in the 80´s 👍 Love every minute of your videos
Loved everything you did, artistry! Are you using the Arcaptain welder you reviewed a while back?

Hey,Fitzee!
