My DP 1.4 works at 12bit FULL RGB 3440x1440 240hz, DSC obviously. My new monitor has both hdmi 2.1 and dp 1.4, same as my 4090. I chose DP because gsync over hdmi 2.1 goes to VBR and does weird stuff and very buggy.
I have a lot of people ask me. They got lost. But with hdmi 2.1 and dp 1.4, the 2.1 has higher bandwidth. I still prefer dp 1.4 but I have a lot if video editors that like hdmi 2.1. It all depends on your use case. Thank for the comment
I chose HDMI 2.1 with VRR. After reading more from the working group, they are pushing both DisplayPort and HDMI to new heights. However, I think if I'm only using one monitor, then HDMI 2.1 seems very stable and fast for me if I am gaming or doing recordings.
@MajinErick I think it's crazy how we all see and experience different things with the cables. But at end of day hdmi 2.1 and soon to be 2.2 is far better then dp 1.4. Until dp 2.0 comes out. Thank you for sharing
@@Thomaswithtomology Yeah and it's crazy. I literally just swapped my DisplayPort for a HDMI 2.1 cable and I'm still blown away by it. After watching your video, I now understand why the one HDMI port is there alongside three DisplayPorts. Good video!
If you got a Radeon Card you can just enable Radeon Chill and put your Max FPS to bellow your refresh rate of the monitor and you wont need to use Free sync or any anti tearing technology.
I don't think people are getting the point. Hdmi 2.1 has 48gb vs DP 32gb. You get more info on a Hdmi then Dp. But what do you loss/gain? That was what I talked about in the video. And I play all my videos on tvs, cell phones, tablet and PC, I don't hear the audio being loud. Plus youtube compressed the audio to -23. So I know. And thank you for adding that in on AMD cards. No matter what card you use, you should always drop it by 4 to 5 fps off your max so you get no tearing/lag issues.
@verlex could be your monitor or cable. I have had no issue with gsync. But I have seen people who had problem through reddit. But overall hdmi 2.1 is compatible with gsync and many people also had no issues asweel. Could be something with your hardware or just one of those weird issues.
I wanted to do this video because there's a lot of people who ask me. Because video cards have hdmi 2.1. I agree DP1.4 is bester. Can't wait to see the new DP2.0 in action. Mite be 3 yrs for new monitors to come out with it.
@@Thomaswithtomology precisely my point. It’s not as simple as one is better than the other. Each one has its uses. I think a good comparison could be hdmi vs DisplayPort on monitor. And if it affects quality specially hdmi 2.1 vd DP 1.4
@Mr.C0ffee i did do that. And stated how hdmi is better for console. My 4090 has both hdmi 2.1 and dp. Hdmi offers higher bandwidth then dp. So i have had many ask me which one is better. So I made the video. I compare at tell what each do and what one is better for it's own use.

I think it really depends as well on the monitor. For example if the monitor is hdmi 2.0 and dp 1.4 surely dp 1.4 bettter.

Good video man. One thing for future videos try to lower the music as it is too loud and does not help with the voice.
I got that a few times. Still learning. I will turn it down or not even put in other videos. Thank you.
Wow dude you need a sponsor. You cut strait through the bull crap and went strait to the specifics. Great work
Thank you. I try to give the info we all need. I wished I could find a sponsor. You want to be one.LOL.. Thank you for the comment

OK, tengkyuu bro.. I'll take Display Port
Same here. I had a lot of gaming buddies that would ask. So I figured I would do a simple video. Thanks for the watch and comment
Very well made video. Thank you. I'll be switching from 2.1 to dp to utilize my gsync
Thank you for your support. I'm glad it helped.
Hdmi support gsync as well
@@ddogbeast9412 it does not sir, I have tried and it works after switching to DP.

HDMI 2.1 is better :v
Saved me 6 minutes
@@jtluns9but you missed out on knowing why.
Good video but the music should be lower man
I can't change it. But yes I got that from a few people. Sorry. I will do better. Thank you for your comment
2.1 is the better option
DP 1.4, no contest

Why? Better for pc sure, for console hdmi is way better cause of of vrr. It’s not a straight answer
@@Mr.C0ffee well I guess you missed something. You can't use dp on console, only PC.
