This is a makeup ARTIST! Not just some youtuber who sits and does her makeup with just music in the background. She actually sits and instrusts and teaches you tips and tricks on how to make makeup apply easier and faster and flawless. She does it in such a thoughtful way cause I dont think young girls know how to bake and do a perfect winged eyeliner on the first try but Jaclyn is so sweet and like I dont know how to decribe it but she understands how most young girls start out in makeup, and I really respect her for that. Jaclyn doesnt have to go into such great detail on her looks but she does to give us the full impact of what she's doing. I have complete mad respect for this woman.
p.s. Keep plugging in the Morphe products!!! I love the brand and it's so nice to hear about their products from a trusted source. Dont listen to the people who are sick of hearing about Morphe, if you like the brand run with it. The brand is bomb AF, and we all know it!! Morphe deserves so much praise!👏🙏

Why is there constantly so much hate towards Jaclyn... literally 20 other youtubers could do the exact same thing but Jaclyn will get it the worst. Who cares what she does, what brands she supports, what type of makeup look she creates.....this is HER channel!!!! If you don't like it don't watch. I bet none of you haters have a problem supporting her when she's doing a giveaway...

I get what you mean when you say this is her channel, but it's also her job. This is how she makes money. This is how she gets to make and sell makeup with companies, this is how her livelihood has been created. It's because of the people who watch her videos that she gets to do what she does. If you want to be the best creator of content you can be, it's GOOD to listen to complaints from the people who make you money, especially when it's not just one or two people, but hundreds with the same complaints. You have to balance doing what you want to do with catering to whatever gives you a livelihood.

A few years ago, many subscribers pleaded with Jaclyn to do more drugstore tutorials ...or affordable tutorials. She replied that she couldn't work with drugstore products as the mineral oil in the products gave her nasty reactions and her skin was so sensitive. Then Morphe came along ...here are the ingredients : Talc, Mica, Mineral Oil, Kaolin, Titanium Dioxide, Magnesium Stearate, Isopropyl Palmitate, Lanolin, Methylparaben, Propylparaben
...and yes I have tried Morphe. The shimmer shades make my eyes itch like crazy. The mattes were hard and chalky

I can't believe it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How often I tried a smokey eye and everytime it lookes like sh***! For years!!! With this tutorial I finally managed it! The first try was so good, I think when I do it even more and learn a bit, then it will be perfect! THANK YOUUUUUUU!!!!
What I tell clients is that whenever you're trying a technique is to do it at night when you're gonna be washing your face anyway. You can start fresh or work on top of a natural/minimal look you might have had during the day and work on top of that. That way yoy can practice and if it looks like shit you're washing it off anyway! And you can forgrt it even looked bad. You can see what works and what doesn't.

Jaclyn this kinda video is what people mean when they say the "old Jaclyn". You coached us thru everything n gave good tips for beginner makeup artists! Not at all overwhelming! It wasn't just you doing your makeup n telling us the steps...you were actually teaching us. You were the best UA-cam teacher when it came to makeup back in the day...I learned everything I know from watching you! Your newer videos have gotten away from that....hope to not sound mean just wanted to let you know that your the best teacher and I would love to see more coach thru vids like these in 2017!!!

Thanks for the support ladies! I've been a follower of her for 5 years and I can definitely see the progression from her in her first videos till now. And she gets a lot of hate for it and I don't think she understands why because really her personality quirks haven't changed it's just the delivery of her content has. Because the beauty community has become soooo large since I first started watching...you can look up any "makeup tutorial" and see what products they used....but Jaclyn used to be soooo great and giving us techniques for when we were actually applying the makeup!

WUB MACHINE I have always used concealer to shape my shadow . I'm too dry to use that much powder . But it works just as good . It's definitely not a new technique lol but maybe just new to her channel for her ?

I think Jaclyn's at her best when she does tutorials. When she focuses on technique, tips and tricks and purely on how to do makeup, without playing up her persona for the camera. And her makeup here is great too, with the done up eyes but simple brows lips and highlight- just more subtle, real and less instagram-y.

Its Just Mars same here! I have a few of their palettes and a ton of their brushes. The shadows are good and the brushes work great. all of my brushes have been washedany many times and are perfect. I don't think they shed or scratch.

I seriously don't understand why people hate morphe so much. Yes sure their eyeshadows are not the quality of urban decay or mac but they are affordable. And for that affordable price you can't expect the most bomb ass quality but that's obvious.
But they are still really nice for the price range.

Anna Maria I actually find that the shadows in my Morphe 35F palette blend out much more easily than my UD naked smoky palette. The Matte black in the Morphe is much more buttery and pigmented than the black in the Urban Decay palette.

I just want to tell you thank you. I'll be 45 in a week and I'm a baby when it comes to makeup. I've always had beautiful skin and color but I've been super sick the last 3 years. I think the reason these lashes are so great is because they're super dense near the band but a little more wispy at the lash end. Best of both worlds!

I have never did smokey eye and i found this video very informative. Explaining everything does help. U have wonderful eyes for this. It really makes them pop.
I find it frustrating that a company launches palette after palette and never has enough so they sell out immediately. I wonder if they do that on purpose to make people want it more. Because after a few launches you think they would figure out that they are popular and order plenty.

Tal Wall just a little tip, it's not the color of the hair its the hair type. natural hair brushes like goat, squirrel, horse etc. are usually white/tan sometimes black and are better for blending and powders. synthetic hair brushes are usually black, Greg, colorful etc. are better for packing on powder and for creams. hope that helps!
Tal Wall I agree! I think a lot of youtubers don't explain too much in depth they only say "I'm doing this and this" but not "why". The purpose of their videos is "how to", that's what tutorial means and I think it includes explaining, giving tips on what works for who etc., it's not just a look for themselves. Thats what I always loved about Jaclyn's videos. I learned so much from her!

80% of my brush collection is Morphe. They're the best brushes I've ever used, awesome quality, and the price is great. Like I don't understand the hate. I love morphe brushes. The eyeshadows aren't my favorite, but those brushes are bomb. If she's getting paid by a brand she truly does believe, honestly power to her. Y'all need to love yourselves and others and stop giving hate. I swear.

I love that you use mascara on the bottom lashes! Mine are incredibly long and I used to think that they looked horrible, but now that I accepted them, I love them. I also liked that you mentioned that falsies wee optional. I usually can't use falsies because my actual lashes are soooo long that my eyes would look odd if I used them. I love the technique. Your eyes are so beautiful.

You’re so right about the Morphe gel liner. I absolutely LOVE how black and how smooth it applies. I mean it’s effortless when you put it on. I can only wear it on my upper lid though. When I put it on my water line my eyes get red watery and irritated. It’s so disappointing that I can’t manage it no matter how much I’ve tried to. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Morphe liner. It’s fantastic!

I get why people get upset or annoyed at so many beauty gurus talking about and using morphe all the time, but morphe is affordable and not even a terrible brand. I appreciate the fact that you created a look with a palette that is affordable because if you were to have used a Natasha Denona palette or a tom ford palette people would flip and complain about you using such high end products. I'm not looking for an argument, but I don't get all the hate on Morphe and people that use it. I've never had a problem with any of their products. I have 3 of their eyeshadow palettes and LOVE them (they're pressed pigments are awesome too btw). Like I have to force myself to use anything other than my 35O. I honestly have no problem with pigmentation, blendability, wear, or irritation. If I were a UA-camr I'd probably talk about their products just as much. I'm not saying you have to love Morphe, you can completely hate it, but that doesn't mean that someone who likes it is lying.
A few years ago, many subscribers pleaded with Jaclyn to do more drugstore tutorials ...or affordable tutorials. She replied that she couldn't work with drugstore products as the mineral oil in the products gave her nasty reactions and her skin was so sensitive. Then Morphe came along ...here are the ingredients : Talc, Mica, *Mineral Oil*, Kaolin, Titanium Dioxide, Magnesium Stearate, Isopropyl Palmitate, Lanolin, *Methylparaben, Propylparaben*. May Contain: Mica and Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides, Manganese Violet, Ultramarine Blue, Chrome Oxide Green, Hydrated Chrome Oxide Green, FD&C Red No.40 Al Lake, FD&C Yellow No.5 Al Lake, FD&C Blue No.1 Al Lake. She was happy to use these products when she was paid to do so. This is why people getting miffed at Jaclyn. Parabens can be harmful. Look at the website "Campaign for safe cosmetics" website xxx
