Elevated rev limit does affect results. Without altering the torque profile to reach the new limit, the cars will have a straight line for the torque once it goes past the default limit, which means linearly increasing power. Even if this is changed, cars with less than ideal gearing will struggle.

Yeah, I was about halfway with the RWD Sports video's when I seriously considered doing it all over again but with the regular RPM. But then I thought this is the way I personally like to play. So the list became a bit more personal. Like I said in the video, I will retest all of the cars again sometime in the future properly. Don't worry about that :)
@@brendanmccarthy492 It was a script you place in the 'scripts' game folder on PC. However, as of '23, you can longer find the script anywhere, would have to make it yourself. You can still get the speed limiter delete though.

I'm conflicted over your rankings for Ford GT and Pagani Zonda. For me, a big factor in lap times is confidence. The Zonda is scary-fast, but braking is incredible; it's clean through the corners and handles bumps surprisingly well. The Ford GT is more responsive in the corners, but also feels overall more loose than the Zonda. I've driven both extensively and I end up 'totalling' in the GT more times than in the Zonda. Also: Glad to see that my fondness for the RX-8 is reflected in laptimes. It's a very easy car to drive fast, and the only time I've seen it struggle is on the Texas Speedway oval - the lack of overall horsepower catches up to it, and Paul Trask's Skyline is a touch faster. I *can* beat him in the RX-8, but sometimes he just has a really good day.
You're absolutely right. The Ford GT is faster but the Zonda is easier to use. I didn't need too many laps to set a quick lap time with the Zonda but I did with the Ford GT. The RX8 is indeed a pleasant surprise.
@@Marcy2200 I guess in fairness this video is all about laptimes, and the GT does seem faster in a straight line than the Zonda (perhaps too fast?) So in the hands of someone who is confident with it, I'm sure it's overall a touch quicker. I think the only reason I wasn't surprised by the RX-8 is because I have been using it since 2007. I had an RX-8 in real life at the time and it's nice to use your "own car" in racing games. I knew it was good enough to beat every Grip race, but I wasn't aware it was quick enough to hang with some of the fastest beasts in the game. It was satisfying to see; thank you for this video!
@@Marcy2200 i dont know ehats better but the zonda just insanely oversteered though its good on speed and braking. And the gt while less oversteered it is sometimes understeer and the tires just lose grip on high speed cornering
I'm actually surprised how much worse the 911 GT2 is compared to the other 911s, especially knowing it's meant to be the big boss trim among the 911s thanks to its raw power. Same with the Carrera GT, especially because of how busted it was in Most Wanted and Carbon.
Its an arcade game, otherwise the GT2 would be the best of the 911's as its specifically built for the track. Same reason classic muscle cars are even remotely viable to race with. If this was a sim or simcade different story on both.
Seems like I wasn't that off the mark by making a new elite Grip team entirely by giving their leader a GT3 RS. Guess I was a bit off the mark with giving his cronies an Eclipse and Gallardo, though (though the third uses an NSX).
@@r3uvsgaming The Evo X is the little overachiever this title. It may not be the "best" specifically, but its in the top 3% for all disciplines except drift as game wont allow AWD for some reason. Im sure if it could compete it would be among the best there too lol. Thing is stupid fast with insane handling. I recently did another playthrough and on some of his races, I was lapping Ray Krieger in it without the 10k RPM script (which I cant find anywhere in '23). So stupid lol.
Personally I think Rudy Chen could’ve been a great competitor for the showdown king title (yes I’m aware that his car is awd but Ryo also drifts an awd car so yeah)
He should have been the Grip King IMO. The last series before Ray, Rudy was a PITA to beat, esp that Sector Shootout. Get to Rays races and 2 of them I overlapped him in the Evo X, without the 10K RPM script.
Could you please retest all the cars on all the modes without rpm changed, I know this is probably a lot to ask for, but it would be great because I haven't seen anybody else do this and these videos are great honestly
Your request will be fulfilled actually but not anytime soon. There are still a couple of games I want to do before I retest Pro Street. But it will be done some day.
IIRC the Civic in grip mode can become unaffected by drag. Single place where it's useful is Texas Oval, where it can run laps around everyone at 420+ kph. Classic Muscles on the other hand, hit the brick wall at about 270 (unless it's drag racing) If you still consider retesting, i'd recommend: Use manual _with clutch_ . Using auto clutch is severely penalised in this game. If you slam gears like you did in drag mode, the results will improve, especially for cars that require lots of gear changing. When downshifting, the game still rev-matches for you. (very optional) Instead of overriding RPM, edit the cars' steering speed. With no artificial input delay, you might again yield better results. While there are mods for that on the net, it's better to manually edit values for one car to test.
the rev limit at 10k rpm change result of a lot of car , with some car im not even close to your result and im not bad afther more than 14 years of playing at that game ( i use a G27 too)
That is the performance you're talking about. With result, I mean that with or without the rpm change, the Mclaren F1 would still be the fastest and the charger would be the slowest. I tested out some of the cars with and without the rpm changes and as I said, the results are largely the same. Lap times aren't and that what you probably meant. This means that this list is still largely accurate when it comes to which cars are better than others. But like I said in the video: All cars from this game will be retested with the regular rpm sometime in the future :)
I was just planing to do a full Classic muscle run, I managed to beat Ryo once with a GT500 so I had to try, I was thinking using the Camaro SS for grip.

It's very easy to beat Ryo in grip in a Camaro SS. With the right gear settings, the Camaro SS accelerates so quickly that Ryo will simply stand still. With the correct brake, suspension and steering settings, as well as a lowered ride height, the Camaro handles almost as well as Japanese cars. And in high-speed races I couldn’t figure out the gear, there was slow acceleration in a high gear, but nevertheless, with the correct use of nitro I was able to pull it in, and at maximum speed I rammed Ryo into a pole, so as not to be last on the radar at maximum speed. But drag and grip seemed like a very easy walk, and drifting in general, the Camaro SS has no equal there.
With the Gtr family of cars, I recommend learning how to four wheel drift. It's a touge-rally technique. Edit: That Ford GT could do Autobahn turn 1 FLAT... ON THE GP CIRCUIT. At least in the old version.
Yea it sucked AWD not being allowed to drift in ProStreet, 4WD drifting with proper tuning is the easiest to do in games and can rack up insane scores. Granted "Drifting" in most games, esp NFS ones, isn't drifting its just glorified power sliding.

Ja klopt helemaal! Maar als je een auto, in dit geval dus de Evo 9, als alles op stage 3 hebt, mijn tune gebruikt en toch de auto niet leuk vind voor wat voor reden dan ook, dan zal ik als ik jou was gewoon een compleet nieuwe auto regelen. De Evo 9 is ook niet echt geweldig moet ik zeggen.
@@Marcy2200 Ik zit in carrière nu net na de Super promotion waarbij je een Nissan skyline kado krijgt. Merk dat de computer auto's echt harder gaan nu. Ik had genoeg geld (zonder cheats) om een Nissan GTR te kopen (stock, geen tuning), maar word aan alle kanten voorbij gereden. Tips? Ik speel overigens met een xbox360 controller. Drag/Speed/Drift gaan redelijk goed, Wheelie is nog niet vrij gespeeld, maar Grip blijft een struggle. Heb nu dan een Nissan skyline/Mitsubishi Langer IX/Nissan GTR/240SX (bijna geen upgrades). Afstellen is lastig, als ik jouw auto's zie, die liggen zo strak op de weg....
@@ivmarenwerkzaak7751 Je kan met de 240SX de drift king verslaan en zijn RX-7 gebruiken voor Grip. Je moet alleen 10 drift races even goed gaan en de baanrecord verbeteren maar zelfs met de 240SX die je in het begin krijgt kan je dat voor elkaar krijgen.

I'm conflicted over your rankings for Ford GT and Pagani Zonda. For me, a big factor in lap times is confidence. The Zonda is scary-fast, but braking is incredible; it's clean through the corners and handles bumps surprisingly well. The Ford GT is more responsive in the corners, but also feels overall more loose than the Zonda. I've driven both extensively and I end up 'totalling' in the GT more times than in the Zonda.
Also: Glad to see that my fondness for the RX-8 is reflected in laptimes. It's a very easy car to drive fast, and the only time I've seen it struggle is on the Texas Speedway oval - the lack of overall horsepower catches up to it, and Paul Trask's Skyline is a touch faster. I *can* beat him in the RX-8, but sometimes he just has a really good day.
You're absolutely right. The Ford GT is faster but the Zonda is easier to use. I didn't need too many laps to set a quick lap time with the Zonda but I did with the Ford GT. The RX8 is indeed a pleasant surprise.
@@Marcy2200 I guess in fairness this video is all about laptimes, and the GT does seem faster in a straight line than the Zonda (perhaps too fast?) So in the hands of someone who is confident with it, I'm sure it's overall a touch quicker.
I think the only reason I wasn't surprised by the RX-8 is because I have been using it since 2007. I had an RX-8 in real life at the time and it's nice to use your "own car" in racing games. I knew it was good enough to beat every Grip race, but I wasn't aware it was quick enough to hang with some of the fastest beasts in the game. It was satisfying to see; thank you for this video!

@@Marcy2200 i dont know ehats better but the zonda just insanely oversteered though its good on speed and braking. And the gt while less oversteered it is sometimes understeer and the tires just lose grip on high speed cornering
The Ford GT has difficult steering but accelerates very well and then you are right that it is better to take the Pagani Zonda because it is easier.

I'm actually surprised how much worse the 911 GT2 is compared to the other 911s, especially knowing it's meant to be the big boss trim among the 911s thanks to its raw power. Same with the Carrera GT, especially because of how busted it was in Most Wanted and Carbon.
Even without the nerf, Carrera GT is obviously not the big boy here with cars like CCX or McLaren F1 (the big boy in NFSII) available.
Its an arcade game, otherwise the GT2 would be the best of the 911's as its specifically built for the track. Same reason classic muscle cars are even remotely viable to race with. If this was a sim or simcade different story on both.

Seems like I wasn't that off the mark by making a new elite Grip team entirely by giving their leader a GT3 RS. Guess I was a bit off the mark with giving his cronies an Eclipse and Gallardo, though (though the third uses an NSX).
@@r3uvsgaming The Evo X is the little overachiever this title. It may not be the "best" specifically, but its in the top 3% for all disciplines except drift as game wont allow AWD for some reason. Im sure if it could compete it would be among the best there too lol. Thing is stupid fast with insane handling. I recently did another playthrough and on some of his races, I was lapping Ray Krieger in it without the 10k RPM script (which I cant find anywhere in '23). So stupid lol.

Personally I think Rudy Chen could’ve been a great competitor for the showdown king title (yes I’m aware that his car is awd but Ryo also drifts an awd car so yeah)
Currently re-testing all the cars using normal RPM and speed limit. Haven't tested the AWD Super cars yet but it won't be long
He should have been the Grip King IMO. The last series before Ray, Rudy was a PITA to beat, esp that Sector Shootout. Get to Rays races and 2 of them I overlapped him in the Evo X, without the 10K RPM script.
Could you please retest all the cars on all the modes without rpm changed, I know this is probably a lot to ask for, but it would be great because I haven't seen anybody else do this and these videos are great honestly
Your request will be fulfilled actually but not anytime soon. There are still a couple of games I want to do before I retest Pro Street. But it will be done some day.
IIRC the Civic in grip mode can become unaffected by drag. Single place where it's useful is Texas Oval, where it can run laps around everyone at 420+ kph.
Classic Muscles on the other hand, hit the brick wall at about 270 (unless it's drag racing)
If you still consider retesting, i'd recommend:
Use manual _with clutch_ . Using auto clutch is severely penalised in this game. If you slam gears like you did in drag mode, the results will improve, especially for cars that require lots of gear changing. When downshifting, the game still rev-matches for you.
(very optional) Instead of overriding RPM, edit the cars' steering speed. With no artificial input delay, you might again yield better results. While there are mods for that on the net, it's better to manually edit values for one car to test.
The ford GT is so god damn underrated
the rev limit at 10k rpm change result of a lot of car , with some car im not even close to your result and im not bad afther more than 14 years of playing at that game ( i use a G27 too)
That is the performance you're talking about. With result, I mean that with or without the rpm change, the Mclaren F1 would still be the fastest and the charger would be the slowest. I tested out some of the cars with and without the rpm changes and as I said, the results are largely the same. Lap times aren't and that what you probably meant. This means that this list is still largely accurate when it comes to which cars are better than others.
But like I said in the video: All cars from this game will be retested with the regular rpm sometime in the future :)

I was just planing to do a full Classic muscle run, I managed to beat Ryo once with a GT500 so I had to try, I was thinking using the Camaro SS for grip.
Look at my latest video. I'm retesting the cars in Pro Street with the vanilla RPM and speed limiter.

It's very easy to beat Ryo in grip in a Camaro SS. With the right gear settings, the Camaro SS accelerates so quickly that Ryo will simply stand still. With the correct brake, suspension and steering settings, as well as a lowered ride height, the Camaro handles almost as well as Japanese cars.
And in high-speed races I couldn’t figure out the gear, there was slow acceleration in a high gear, but nevertheless, with the correct use of nitro I was able to pull it in, and at maximum speed I rammed Ryo into a pole, so as not to be last on the radar at maximum speed. But drag and grip seemed like a very easy walk, and drifting in general, the Camaro SS has no equal there.
When do you make the ranking without the overlimit of the speed and the rpm ? Apart from that, gg for you work !👍

With the Gtr family of cars, I recommend learning how to four wheel drift. It's a touge-rally technique.
Edit: That Ford GT could do Autobahn turn 1 FLAT... ON THE GP CIRCUIT. At least in the old version.
Yea it sucked AWD not being allowed to drift in ProStreet, 4WD drifting with proper tuning is the easiest to do in games and can rack up insane scores. Granted "Drifting" in most games, esp NFS ones, isn't drifting its just glorified power sliding.
U need stage 4 parts and a good tune on all cars and the story changes

Ja klopt helemaal! Maar als je een auto, in dit geval dus de Evo 9, als alles op stage 3 hebt, mijn tune gebruikt en toch de auto niet leuk vind voor wat voor reden dan ook, dan zal ik als ik jou was gewoon een compleet nieuwe auto regelen. De Evo 9 is ook niet echt geweldig moet ik zeggen.
@@Marcy2200 Ik zit in carrière nu net na de Super promotion waarbij je een Nissan skyline kado krijgt. Merk dat de computer auto's echt harder gaan nu. Ik had genoeg geld (zonder cheats) om een Nissan GTR te kopen (stock, geen tuning), maar word aan alle kanten voorbij gereden. Tips? Ik speel overigens met een xbox360 controller. Drag/Speed/Drift gaan redelijk goed, Wheelie is nog niet vrij gespeeld, maar Grip blijft een struggle. Heb nu dan een Nissan skyline/Mitsubishi Langer IX/Nissan GTR/240SX (bijna geen upgrades). Afstellen is lastig, als ik jouw auto's zie, die liggen zo strak op de weg....
@@ivmarenwerkzaak7751 Je kan met de 240SX de drift king verslaan en zijn RX-7 gebruiken voor Grip. Je moet alleen 10 drift races even goed gaan en de baanrecord verbeteren maar zelfs met de 240SX die je in het begin krijgt kan je dat voor elkaar krijgen.

The problems of the civic are in the low & medium-speed corners where it just has a tremendous amount of understeer.
