- Sorry I didn't mean to say racing games are hard on keyboard... So here is a video beating the final boss Ryo Watanabe in Need For Speed Pro Street with keyboard. Now am I part of the keyboard club? ^_^v

Keyboard overlay controls:
A, Z for throttle/brake
Left/Right arrows for steering
Left Shift for clutch
Up/Down arrows for up/down shifting
On a side note, thanks for telling me to use clutch on the Integra R. It shifts so much faster now. Turns out I'm the one being a grandma driving that Integra R with that slow shifting, not Ryan Cooper.
This video shown are still without any sort of quality of life changes. My next videos will show some of the quality changes you can do with Pro Street.

it takes some serious balls to do those speed challenges on a keyboard
so therefore, easiest strategy is to get mid engine car or total the racer
I race in first person mode. This makes it easier to control the car.
Doge Charger i played through the entire game on an old crappy laptop.. with a keyboard and lag...
Doge Charger I used a Toyota supra first then a Dodge viper SRT 10 for these races.

Prostreet Fairlady Z yeah did that like more than 10 times and only one of the tries was like luck, ending around 3.300 ish points, and then my game crashed for no reason at all. And then had to repeat it all over again T-T #usedaSuprabtw

Btw try press the "enter" button quickly to avoid the game crash cuz it cant handle to awesomeness of your car
Prostreet Fairlady Z nahhh my car is not awesome. I used a livery that now looks like a cow but added with purple spots XD. But damn 3800 points? That is some skill though. Yeah out of all drift tracks, docks are the hardest of them all.

Whenever you draft an opponent, Physics get thrown out the window and all the game is focusing on is just fucking straight line speed.
It's more than overpowered, it's just light speed

Someone in the comments posted this link for patch 1.1 installation as well as bug fixes. I did not try it since I have no issues with the game, but you can give this a try.

I always get stuck at the "continue" menu after a race, it makes the game completely unplayable on PC, do you know how to fix this?

As a long time keyboard user, I don't see how it's hard to play a racing game on one
Once I learned that this game's "difficulty" settings at lowest work as much against you as they can I already played it on xbox with King difficulty and after few sessions filled with hate and shout outs towards the screen and replacing controller 3x I beat the game and decided never again.
Then for fun I got it on PC again, but my controller's batteries were dead at the time and.......... Holy shit this game is so god damn ez, beyond drifting it is incredible.
Keep in mind my prior experience with NFS was on keyboard only.
Though I used Space for gas, X for break, Z for handbreak, arrow keyes for steering, cuz back in the day key ghosting was a really annoying thing. Like current office keyboards has less ghosting than those from the past.

If it's so easy how come you're struggling so hard to stay on the road? I don't know what the story behind this is but Pro Street with the keyboard is definitely not easy. Well, maybe the final boss battle is, since you can pretty much just pull over and there's a 50/50 chance he'll wreck himself, but back in 2007 I used to waste around 4 total repair markers trying to beat a regular Top Speed Run with 7 other racers. Steering is unpredictable with analog controls.
In my previous "PS is hard video", people responding that the game is easy to finish with KB and completely missed the point of what I mean by "hard". So I just made this in response.
Maxwell Tanner idk about you but I was seven when this game released and I beat it soon after I got my hands on it. And I beat it every few years that game is very predictable and in all honestey is not that hard

I took Ryo down with a fleet of Subarus. Apart from drift. I used an FD for drift. The Subarus won of course.
Subarus for circuit racing on this game are OP as fuck, I had one with a replica of the rally subaru livery

The Tokyo Dockyard drift races are pretty complicated. Before even touching them, i always practiced on those that had those fences that block the way, you know, THOSE FENCES THAT ALWAYS FUCK UP YOUR SPEED.
When you start thinkin the fastest integra in the world has a theoretical top speed of 235mph..

Like how he's going 250 kph and Ryo can't even keep up meanwhile, AI in Race Days can go over 250, goes to show how bad the AI for the Showdown King is.
Racing games are easy with keyboard. You need to be gentle and dont keep pressed direction keys until necessary. Keep in mind that pressing, for example, right key its the same as direction analog going instantly full right. Once you get it you will never come back to your joystick. Reaction time is a lot quicker using keyboard. I like using both hands in UP+DOWN+LEFT+RIGHT, NOS with right shift using my right hand for gas and brake and my left for steering and NOS. Right CTRL for handbrake.

I beat the game on PS2. But when I downloaded it on the PC two or so years ago, I couldn't even beat the mid-late game grip races because the cars were so hard to drive. I didn't dare enter speed races. Despite me beating it on a console when I was a kid, lol
