I was thinking that there were originally not enough droids to overcome defender's advantage, but perhaps it was mostly down to luck regarding which side won the tank battle. In both cases, it was won fairly early. Maybe earlier in the second one because it was over 2 to 1 for the droids.
Clones get a win, Daley buffs the droids too much and then clones get overwhelmed
