@bboyStuntZ Bose SoundDock uses a supplied Lithium-ion battery. It is partially charged out of the box but a full charge is recommended before initial use. It may take up to 10 hours to recharge completely. The battery provides up to 3 hours of use when set to full volume. You can extend this time significantly by choosing a lower volume. The SoundDock will turn itself off when your iPod is inactive or silent for 10 minutes to prolong battery life. Hope that helps CrutchfieldTV
No. The SoundDock II does not offer any networking or Bluetooth capabilities. This means, the compatible iPod/iPhone would have to be physically docked in the player to be heard through the SoundDock. Feel free to call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030--Crutchfield
MadHatter593, The SoundDock II is not designed for adding speakers. There's plenty of other options with more flexibility for adding on. The SoundDock is a simple iPod solution. CrutchfieldTV
@timorum Bose only recommends charging the battery on the Portable SoundDock with the supplied AC adapter and, therefore, does not provide any specifications for charging from a DC power source. They state that it will take up to 10 hours to fully charge the battery from an AC power source. Feel free to call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030--Crutchfield
@elinno1 Both of the Bose SoundDocks offer AC power cords for use in the home. In fact, the regular SoundDock Series II will only work when plugged into an AC outlet. The SoundDock portable adds a built-in lithium-ion battery for use on the go, but requires initial charging from an AC outlet. Feel free to call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030--Crutchfield
We don't have information stating if this will/will not continue to play. However, I have friends that use other brand iPod docks and theirs will continue to play the current song. I'd be shocked if this one worked differently. HTH! --Crutchfield
I just bought a Sound Dock 2 with audio input. $20 at resale. If it didn’t have audio input I wouldn’t have purchased it but I found out later you can buy 30 pin Bluetooth adapters for $20. I think it’s a pretty good investment.

Who’s here in 2021
Not me I'm from the future 👀

I've added a $10 Google Chromecast Audio to this via the aux cable. Works beautifully. Rich , connected sound.
The SoundDock II was introduced to our inventory in September of 2008. Feel free to call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030--Crutchfield

I saw pictures of this online and it had the lightning connector for iPhone 5 for the dock, how do you have an iPod classic connected?
Any idea how long it will take to charge using 12v car system?
hi dose this charge your device while using it?
The Bose SoundDocks are no longer available for purchase through Crutchfield. They do charge your device when connected, though!
it has been with me since it first came out and still sounds like the first day i got it, and I still have my original iPod that that I bought in 2006

If your ipod or tablet is plugged in with a song already playing, will the speaker start playing if you plug in the power?
