Fix the gap on the Oracle Flush Mount Taillights?

- I have had a few comments on my Oracle Flush Mount Taillights for the Jeep Gladiator video stating that they did not like the gap between the lights and the body. Someone commented on my video saying that DKs Garage had an install video that fixed the problem. I watched the video and applied the fix, what do you think?

Best tail lights out there period in my personal opinion. How Jeep should have made them in the 1 place.
I agree. I hear about folks in the forums talking about reliability issues but I was on the original wait list for these and have been running them hard off-road with no issues. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this. Gonna try to knock it out tonight. I also but some vehicle door trim that I'm going to place around the edge to close it completely.
Let me know how the trim piece works for you. Thanks for watching!
Just getting ready to order a set of these lights and found your video. Thanks for the video and the heads up on this issue.
Glad you got some value from it, thanks for watching!
SAVE YOUR MONEY ORACLE IS GARBAGE!
@@delnayelan No need to yell, and please provide information on why they are bad? So far mine have been running great.
My truck didn’t have rubber plugs. Plus my screw doesn’t tighten up all the way, it just spins. Going to see if I can get the rubber things and some new screws this weekend
What year is your truck? Without the rubber plus I would think that they would rattle a bit. Thanks for watching!
GREAT VIDEO! THANKS for taking the time to do this and show us all! would of never thought to cut the ends of the rubber gromets
Glad it helped, thanks for watching!
Great tip, ty!
You are welcome, thanks for watching!
Just got these on my Wrangler and they had no gap
Excellent, I am sure they have been working on making improvements. Thanks for watching!
Why not measure the posts then use a sharp drill carefully poking the cup ?
You could try that but all you need to do is remove the very tip of the cup so that the rod will poke through and hold tightly on the sides for stability. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video...what rear bumper are you using?
It is the Expedition One Dual Swing bumper. You can check out one of my video's on it here: ua-cam.com/video/wiUfJay436w/v-deo.html Thanks for watching!
Great video 👍🏿
Thank you, and thanks for watching
Can’t cha just drill it?
@@STRATSAFIRE you probably could but that small rubber piece would be a pain to use a drill on, I think it is a lot easier just to cut the end off with a knife or scissors. Thanks for watching.
Couldn't you just shorten the post on the lights instead?
I guess you could but it is easier to cut the rubber cup then it would be to trim the aluminum post and it accomplishes the same thing. Thanks for watching!
Why not just use a smaller drill bit and drill through the gromet rather than cut it?
either way works, thanks for watching!
Got to have gap for expansion for the steel and plastic.
It is possible but the stock tail lights do not have a noticeable gap and a lot of people have mentioned that these lights do. I personally do not feel that the gap is a big issue but some do. Thanks for watching!
I left the cup installed and just ran a drill through it to open the end up. Had about the same result.
That would work as well, thanks for watching!
I like your rear bumper set up who makes it, is it part of the bumper or do I have to modify my bumper to for that kind of set up
My setup is an Expedition One Dual Swing bumper and if you are interested you can check out my review here: ua-cam.com/video/wiUfJay436w/v-deo.html I know that there are options to add a swing out tire carrier to the existing bumper and tie it into the frame as one of my local 4X4 shops does one but I have never seen it in person. Let me know if you have any specific questions and thanks for watching!
Hi where did you get your bumper tire carrier?
I got it at Expedition One www.exp-one.com/products/jeep-gladiator-products/
I guess you’ve never heard of scissors or wire cutters since you were determined to cut your thumb for no reason.
I always carry a pocket knife so it was immediately available. I was never in danger of cutting myself but thank you for your obviously genuine concern. Thanks for watching!
