This is a really fun trail😁! We drove both ways in our "very " rare 08 RAV4 TRD Limited with V-6 and this trail is a great place to spend the day with family or to explore!
If you look at a map and find 29Palms, then NW of that is Pioneertown, then North of that is Rimrock... here are the coordinates to get you started. Burns Canyon Rd Pioneertown, CA 92268 34.198043, -116.561259 After that, you can wander up Burns Canyon and when you get to the fork that leads you to either Big Bear/Baldwin Lake or Cactus Flat OHV area make a choice. Downhill toward Cactus Flat is slightly more difficult but nothing a stock 4x4 couldn't handle. Right now there may be snow??
No lie man. My buddy and I did this trail in his Mitsubishi Mirage in 2001. We looked at the map from 29 palms and wanted the shortest way to big bear. Not sure how the hell we made it 😂😂
I think it would make it, there might be a couple of challenging areas, I haven't been there since last fall. I would also suggest going with another vehicle just in case.
Yeah ~ I wouldn't want to get stuck out there with no help, specially because its only 2WD. I heard driving in a 2WD would make it, but navigating out through a different section would be difficult for a 2WD 4 runner to make it. Awesome video man!
Joey was driving the 4runner I'm leasing for a little while, Matt had a 2015 LC from his fleet and my friend Todd had his '16 SR5 4runner. I just really like driving my 80 on days like this, it's so capable and comfortable in these situations, just turned out to be that awesome!
I meant "out" not it...but that too. Actually Im not soar at all from the last trip other than feeling frustrated with my shop (where it is now...again...for the same problem) and making the rest of the guys suffer a little. I had a great trip...though I do with I was a little more present on in the basin. I get distracted by "what if's" way too easily.
Patrick Rich is this your Brother? You both have the same last names. I watched this video a few times before I went on a trip with the MtnRoo group. There were 37 Subaru’s and my lone Honda Passport. I’ll be putting together a UA-cam episode do you think it would be okay with your Brother if I used some footage from this video?
Nice to see rigs other than Jeeps for a change

Did this drive today - it was snow covered from Ptown all the way to Big Bear. Only one tricky hill, had to dig myself out!
Excellent video! Cool drive
Took this road up to Big Bear couple of years ago in BMW X5. Fun road.
Todd never gives up? You mean turn the 4wd knob to 4low?

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend anyone doing this in a Mirage, glad you had a happy outcome!
How about a stock 2020 Subaru Forester?
Does anyone know a rough estimate about how long this route takes ?
If you're in a hurry, it can be done in about 3 hours, but take your time and make a day or at least a full morning of it! lunch in Big Bear.
Yall think a 2runner with a lift and rear lockers could do this?
Yes 😂
Are the trails to narrow for a 2010 crewcab tundra? I am TRD 4x4
No, this would be a good trail for that size vehicle.
Nice video! How long does it take? I'm thing of doing it the opposite direction...
Not a bad idea, give it 3 hours, more if you stop and picnic or take side roads.
Do you think that a Gen 4 4runner SR5 V6 2WD could make it in this trail

Get a 4wd
where do you start and what roads do you take for this?
Sorry Tuc, check my reply above with more info on starting point from the Pioneertown side.
very cool i want to do the same about how long does it take?
joe smith seems like we did this in about 2 hours but we did some sides and meandered some.
awesome , finally doin it soon !
Bout 2 hours down and 2 hours up. Unless crazy Dave is driving...😳
Could I ride 4 wheelers at this location
This road is only for street licensed vehicles. There's an ohv park north of big bear on hwy 18.
Was this a Toyota run of sorts? How come everyone has such cool rides?

Dan Rich jealous. It's been tough trying to get it lately. Going for something this weekend
I know the feeling, you need some successes to get it back, and to stretch it out enough to remember why you liked it in the first place.
