Great game. One thing I noticed is when the Whirblewind reversed. Unless your recce or have a special rule. Can only reverse half speed. It looked like it reversed a lot farther then half.
Hi Josh, Awesome BA content as always. Not sure if maybe i am reading the Auto Canon rules differently/wrong (page 70 and 71 of rulebook) or there are some clips missing in the footage but i am not sure that just because the initial Template has three men under it that all shots hit three men as it states that the template cannot overlap, so five hits wouldnt hit 5x3 men as the template needs to chain around the unit? It would mean that at maximum you can only hit the max amount of dudes in the unit? Still makes the Wirbelwind a nasty vehicle but maybe not as nasty
This confused me totally! The template will cover two maybe three if they are bunched together. The template cant overlap and has to be chained so with that in mind three hits will cover six dudes give or take. And as it was HE then and the unit was down half those hits. Rolling three not fifteen dice - it's Bolt Action not 40K 😝
I have found if the target is hit on a 5 or 6 it's best to use HE or on a building but if you can hit on a 3 or 4 your better with ap shells and wounding with a +2 pen
@@StormtrooperYD @StormtrooperYD I can understand using HE to maximise hits but surely that would apply to whatever it takes to hit. The assumption is HE will clip 2 dudes doubling the opportunity to wound*, so are the odds/chance/maths better to roll one dice per hit on a 2+ (regular) or two dice on 3+? And then there's the chance of applying 2 pins. *assuming the unit is not down.
@@bazza1carter your assumption that each HE hit will 2 dudes is an incorrect one though, its really dependent on how the squad is bunched up. if 4 models are standing in a straight line 1 inch apart, and you roll 2 HE hits, youre only gonna roll to wound 2 of them if you perfectly place each template so that theyre touching each other. so in that situation itd be better to fire AP since youre still wounding 2 models but at the increased pen.
I still prefer Kugelblitz to be honest... less shots but no open topped +3pen and 35pts cheaper makes it to fit better in most lists... in addition because Heavy autocannons r 72" range you can shoot up to 36" without the -1 long range penalty... and thats also brutal
When autocannons use HE they also do 1 to 2 pins so 1 to 3 is 1 and 4 to 6 is 2. Maybe you wasn't filming or going over what the Wirblewind was doing on pins at the start? Not many people like my SD Kfz 251/21 Drilling for my Germans or my M-15 MGMC for my Americans as they both are able to pump out the dice per turn with the M-15 having dual HMG's and a heavy autocannon. The Drilling is just the cheaper and slighly less able Wirblewind with only 3 light AC's.

Well very good BR... but... i mean, you are MWG...i hope in the next BR we will see a better map...this is a Warhammer Terrain mixed up map, with Bold Acrion Models...no really good realistic MW2 Terrain...looks not...i know Tabletop Channel here with 100 Followers they have better maps...with streets, fields, ruins what else...and the have not the Option mayby money, like ya :) its my opinion...but jea stay on good BR

When DOWN , you are still -2 to hit with HE Only in building you ignore cover ( you shoot at wall) and as you did go down you halve HE hits
Great Puma/Wirbelwind combo, was a fun game to watch
I recommend watching The Eagle Has Landed from the 1970’s. It really got me in the mood for a round of Bolt Action.

Great stuff and can agree this is a super fun game.
The terrain is so important for games it makes such a huge difference, even for Battlemallet 50k (Not sure why you went coy there but)
Whirbelwinds are absolutely brutal in this game. Might even go so far as to say it’s almost an auto include.
