      History is by far my favourite subject, hobby and occupation. If it was not for history, I do not think I would have enjoyed travelling so extensively throughout the years..

    • @macnutz4206
      @macnutz4206 7 років тому +1

      One of my best friends got his degree in history at Carlton University in Canada. They have a particularly good history department, or did when he was there. He is the fellow I hope to travel through southern Europe with next year.
      We have learned to have our conversations away from most other people as we discus very, very boring things according to mixed company.
      I have no formal education, at all. I grew up in a home that contained no books, at all, except the KJV of the bible and an ancient instruction manual from Kodak. Seriously.
      I spent a couple of years being a fake student at the University of BC where I used the library and girl friend required and suggested reading lists to teach myself how to read real books on subjects that interested me, primarily history and psychology. The science interests came later, my love of history and archaeology go back a long way.
      A study of history will alter one's perspective regarding the times they actually live in. Though it may cause a bit of cynicism regarding "brand new never happened before" events and ideas.
      Anyway, I love following you.

    I have seen many grave yards but none like this. So sad that many never got to live their full lives & went through such horrible things. So nice to see they have not been totally forgotten. May they all rest in peace.
    Thank you for taking the time, effort, expense to show us your videos done with such respect. Many blessings to you sir.

    A strangely beautiful and mournful place.
    On a cultural note I noticed an interesting stylistic motif incorporated into many of the intact tomb stones. Even without the Hebrew script, they are immediately recognizable as Jewish tomb stones. I had not noticed that before. Time to google.

    Hey there, thank you very much for this nice video of the oldest Jewish cemetery in Frankfurt, right next to our Museum Judengasse. Actually, the cemetery is open for visitors during the opening hours of the neighboring museum. YOu can get the key there every day from 10 am to 6 pm (but not on monday).

      interessant das ein Jüdisches Museum in seinem Post nicht klarstellt das dies nicht der älteste noch existierende Friedhof in Europa ist...sondern der "Heilige Sand in Worms".

    I've been watching YT video's on cemeteries today until I ran into this one,a few of the video's had vandalized headstones by unruly kids with nothing better to do but when I saw all those headstones stacked like that it just hurt my heart so bad it's unexplainable.How a race of people could be so cruel to another is beyond my comprehension.This will be my last cemetery video I'll watch for the rest of my life. Thank you

    Wow that is a messed up cemetery. I thought in Germany when they got that old and messed up that they were built over. Clearly if there are graves going back to the 13th century there are no family members alive to tend to the graves. Those old ones look terrible.
