nice song, not sure I understand the meaning of the lyrics though. anyone have an idea? and to be clear, i mean specifically. I know Donovan's lyrics are a bit more vague with nova charisma but he usually seems to write about something in particular.
When I listen to it, I get the feeling it’s talking about people going through the motions and not really caring about others or their life. The virtue signal both ways makes me think he’s talking about people who don’t form their own opinion and just go with what others are doing. This could just be me interpreting it based on my own life experience tho

Don’t get me wrong. I love Donovan. Really talented guy. Plus Hail put out one of my favorite records of all time. His solo release however, was really cringe at first listen. Nova is a lot better. Whatever makes him happy though.

is the song about jesus? is the hex above the bed the crucifix? is he talking about unanswered prayers? what are the "words on the pavement?"
It about having to keep going through all their life's looking for their true love in this universe. That's what I feel and get off of it
