uncountable noun সব সময় third person singular number হিসাবে বিবেচিত হয়। যেমন- water,oil,rice,pulse(Daal),hair,timber,soil,sand,cement etc..এগুলো কখনই Plural এর ক্ষেত্রে S/es যোগ হবে না..

That's a vast one. Unless you go for specialisation in English in your UG and PG, it's not so needful.Even so,these days,the Univs have done away with 'Figures of Speech' in CBCS.

Please don't mind. "Can" is a modal auxiliary verb .modal auxiliary always takes V1 form (verb er present form ) For example - He can't write.l can write.l cannot write/l can't write.
