I hope you all enjoy the tutorial. Let me know which one is your favourite, or maybe you have another piping tip you prefer to use instead. I love them both, but I love the ruffles that the 2D piping tip creates on the classic swirl!
Great idea for a tutorial I never even thought about the difference in the piping tips but you showed me there is quite a difference and even slowing down the difference that the same piping tip can make thank you for sharing and keep on caking
Loved this video. I watched it once to help me decide which tip to use for cupcakes. I chose the 2D. Once I’d bought the tip and baked the cupcakes I watched it again to refresh my memory. It was an excellent demonstration. Thanks so much!
This was so helpful! My 2D tip was smashed together and I didn't realize that was the problem I was having until you pointed it out. The comparison was so helpful, too! Thank you!
You're really good! I have been trying SO hard to perfect my rosettes with NO luck. However, with just 7 minutes of your instruction, now I see why! I have never seen a video where someone gave such a good explanation of what tip to use for whatever effect and exactly what speed to pipe at! Wow...thank you SO very much. I'm gonna be watching lots more of your videos, and you just keep on teaching! God bless...
Hi Deb, I'm so glad the tutorial was helpful and knowing it has helped you is amazing and means so much to me. It is so surprising how the speed that you pipe can change the way a swirl will look. I hope you enjoy the other videos too x x
Your tutorials are the most helpful I’ve seen! You have good angles so that we can see what you are doing. You also do a good job explaining things. You are a good teacher! That is a unique gift!
Thanks so much for this perfect video! It is simple enough for a beginner (me) with excellent video footage. It was not too fast and not too slow and contained only what we need to know.
Hi Helen, you are so welcome. I just hope it's helpful. Its so hard to know what all the tips look like before you use them, so I thought it would be a helpful guide.
I just decorated my first cupcakes tonight for the very first time and I’m kicking myself that I didn’t watch your video first!!!! It was so much harder for me than it looks. Maybe my frosting was too thick. Love your video and love your pink cupcakes!!! Just gorgeous!!
I am so glad you have found it useful. I think the 2d is my favourite too, and definitely the best one for the rosettes, but its great seeing them together to compare.
Totally loved it! Superb and clear explanation in such detail! I loved the 2D one which looked like a rose. Thanks for giving such clear and wonderful comparisions of the two most frequently used nozzles 🙂
Thank you so much, you are so welcome. I am just so glad you enjoyed it. It's always so hard to know which piping tip does which swirl, so I was really hoping people could use this as a guide.
WOW, you have inspired me to have a go at piping my own cupcakes! So many effects with just two piping tips, what a great way for a beginner to start. Have a lovely day. Cheers Donna Z :)
Excellent job with the comparison! Who knew I would like the 2D better!? Good delivery and pace with helpful information. New subscriber here! Thank you!

Hi! In your experience, how many cups of icing do you need for a dozen cupcakes using either 2D or 1M?
