Thank you for this tutorial. I really apricate the way you explain things. If you want to view your zone graphs, go under Show->Developer->Zone Graph I imagine that will get moved after the toll is out of the "experimental" stage but that's where it is now.
Hello Ryan, your videos are lifesavers, especially for those of us who need visual examples in addition to text. Ryan, can I make a request? Could you make a video showing how to create quest instances? For exemple, when a player accepts a quest, this quest generates an instance with a specific map, and the player is teleported inside. They may or may not bring a friend from their group. The focus is not on the group, but on the instanced quest and how it replicates if two players enter.
Ryan, are you planning to show how this can be used in an actual city environment? There are free city assets on the marketplace with sidewalks, crosswalks, ( and there's always that one guy who jaywalks! ) alleys, streets, parks, etc. Just planting a seed... 😇 I'm looking forward to this series in any case.
Mass AI is such a great looking tool and it's been a real struggle getting it into projects with the lack of info out there. This is definitely the most helpful set so far Do you plan on also diving into the Mass AI and zone graphing for traffic as well? I had a much harder time working on traffic AI than I did NPC AI even though it seems like it should be as straight forward
The issue i have with zone shape is that the AI movements are not natural, i mean they are walking in lane like cars... While in real life people walk on sidewalks but not in an ordinates manners. Some walk on the left side, other on the right, while some in the middle, change sides... With zone shape you have to define direction so it end up in like people walking in lane not really wandering around especially in open spaces like field for instance. Another limitation is that you can not spawn random procedurally generated cities since you have to bake the zone shape
Hey does someone know how to add custom Tasks to the mass Schema? I World like to build that the npcs run away from me when i shoot. Right now im limited to the mass Schema funtions. Thanks in advance :)

For anyone wondering how to show the zone shapes (like OP is at 6:04), it's Show > Developer > Zone Graph
Thank you very much for this tutorial series, there aren't that many Mass AI tutorials about civilians so this is very much appreciated.
Excellent tut series, thank you!
Been playing with this, hardly any info on it! Thanks for sharing Ryan! 🎉
Oh damn! I literally will need this pretty soon for a game I’m currently planning, perfect timing :D
Thanks for doing this, there is almost no examples of how to use this. Just some written 20 page long thing from epic and a Russian dude
Looking forward to seeing the rest of this series :-)
