The line that refers to the song title at the end of each chorus is one of the most famous "mis-quoted lyrics" moments in rock and roll. "There's a bad moon on the rise" has been mis-quoted by SO many listeners as "There's a bathroom on the right". The singer John Fogerty continues the myth, jokingly. He pretty much sings the bathroom line at least once during the song when he plays it live!
Yes they were very popular, extremely popular, global world wide popular, in countless movies popular, still on the radio 10 times a day popular, this band is soooo good!
I always thought it was about the Detroit riots, like the American written version of Black Day in July. Don't go around *tonight* makes it seem more time sensitive than the war.
The tragedy was that their manager stole a lot of their money and had them sign away their writing credits. They decided to just stop writing and playing until the late 80=s when John Fogerty released some solo recordings.
How about a little Electric Light Orchestra? Evil Woman. Telephone Line, Don't bring me Down, Strange Magic. Yeah buddy you know some babies were made to that Strange Magic back in the day. 😎 (Not saying from personal experience, though)

"hey tonight","lookin out my backdoor","midnight special","proud Mary","I put a spell on you","Lodi","green river","fortunate son", and my personal favorite CCR song" long as I can see the light". Solo John Fogerty"center field"and"old man down the road"☮️
You and I have the same favorite CCR songs! This may be my favorite, just because I love the juxtaposition of the dire lyrics with the happy, uptempo music. Green River, Lodi, Midnight Special, and Long as I Can See the Light round out my "Top 5" songs for this band -- great variety, lots of interesting lyrics, all of them perfect for blasting in the car on a road trip.
@@oregonchick76 I don't think they ever recorded a bad song,so many great classics. I saw John Fogerty last year with ZZ Top he still sounds great. 🎸He still has the guitar he played at Woodstock and brought it out for a few CCR classics. Hope you have a great day.

Whenever I hear this song, I think of a time, back in the 80's, and I was at the Tampa Fair. We came across a booth that had a TV screen showing VCR videos of people lip-singing. Turned out, you could pay to pick a song and go inside to record you and anyone with you, lip singing. They had some props, like a small drum set, guitars with no strings, etc. Well, we got to talking to a man and his family about, wouldn't it be fun to do that. So me, my boyfriend, Steve and the father's 3 boys, aged 11 to 16, picked this song. Steve bought, from a nearby booth, some cheap sunglasses for each of us to wear and in we went. When we came out, 2 copies of the taped video in hand, our performance was playing on the TV. It drew quite a crowd, with a great round of applause. Memorable moment, lol. Of course now, everyone takes videos of themselves singing and post them for the world to see.

Back in 1998 I went to hear the Battlefield Band. The lead singer announced they were going to do a song that they had heard played by bar bands in every corner of the world, but they were pretty sure they were the only band that included the great highland bagpipe in their instrumentation.... And then they played Bad Moon Rising.

Lead singer and lead guitarist John Fogerty is an amazing songwriter. They had 9 top ten hits in about a 3 to 4 year period from late 60's to early 70's. My favorite CCR tune has always been "Long As I Can See the Light."
Oooh, now we're going all the way back to my childhood, dancing with my mom in the living room to this! I know every word 🙌🙌 You make me so happy with all these trips down memory lane!
Again, great reaction. Some of their songs just weren’t long. They did a cover of Heard It Through Grapevine, the extended version is great. We appreciate you. Do what you can, and don’t worry too much about what you can’t get to. You rock!
Otis has several songs that are great! “Respect” “These Arms of Mine” “I’ve Been Loving You Too Long” “Just One More Day” “Sitting’ On the Dock of the Bay” I honestly feel that he’s a bit forgotten by history. But to me he’s arguably one of the best soul/r&b artists.
Most of older Metal Heads listen to all sorts of other great legends. I myself listen to everything from Slayer to Michael Jackson to Conway Twitty to Elvis. If it grabs you, it's all good.
@@TheYetiThornton he had so much more to give! He, like many other legends, died too early. I've Been Loving You Too Long is one of the most heartfelt songs in history. Otis had a way of making himself completely vulnerable, and he uses that skill in volumes in that sone alone.
Love this band I got introduce to it when I was on a rode trip to Florida. And we play their CD so many times and got me stuck to them awesome reactions keep them up
One of the greatest bands and voices (Fogerty) in rock history. You can't help but move when you hear any one of their songs! My parents told me I used to dance naked to "Down on the Corner" as a toddler! 😳😁🤣👏 Too bad they didn't have a video camera back then - I'd love to see that footage of me now it would be hilarious:) Anyway, I still love them and jam their music today... albeit usually fully clothed!
One of the first songs I learned on guitar. My high school rock band played it as one of the first we played together along with proud Mary and later born on the bayou. Great band. Fun to play. Can't say enough about them.
I remember these as a preteen and like you said the beat and not really listening to the words, I hear it now. CCR was popular during the Vietnam era.✌🏽💕. I love your reactions and you’re listening deeper than a preteen back then. Keep it coming I hear something new every time I listen.😊
Their from the East Bay. El Cerrito I think... I'm hooked on your stuff... I was 27 when you were born, Jimmy Hendrix, Janice Joplin, and Jim Morrison died at that age. I could give you tons of background.
the young guy discovers CCR ! Been listening to them 1967 and never get tired of them my favorite is : (It came out of the sky) far the best song along with (willy and the poor boys) coming in a second !
The seventies and the two decades book ending it were so full of great music that one was constantly in danger of taking if for granted. It was a great time to be alive.
A classic from the misunderstood lyrics file. "There's a bathroom on the right". (Hendrix - "Scuse me while I kiss this guy". "Louie Louie"......you know.) AM Radio format drove song length back in the day. Extended versions of songs were often on the album - vinyl at 33 1/3 - and those versions would get played on the FM formats.
Credence .. just one of the best
Fun Fact: This was the main title music for An American Werewolf In London

SBP Still, I put a spell on you, is an Original fron Screaming Jay Hawking. CCR covered it.
Proud mary, someday never comes and long as I can see the light are great songs from ccr
Watching this reaction during the Covid Pandemic, it was almost prophetic. The whole world is in flames.
You rock!
I'm not your ordinary metal head Jamel. Could you react to one of my favorite songs on the planet? Try A Little Tenderness by Otis Redding.
👍🏾
Otis has several songs that are great!
“Respect”
“These Arms of Mine”
“I’ve Been Loving You Too Long”
“Just One More Day”
“Sitting’ On the Dock of the Bay”
I honestly feel that he’s a bit forgotten by history. But to me he’s arguably one of the best soul/r&b artists.
Love Man! All Songs Listed are Great Otis Redding Songs!!! Man he was Great!!! 👍👏.
😳😁🤣👏 Too bad they didn't have a video camera back then - I'd love to see that footage of me now it would be hilarious:) Anyway, I still love them and jam their music today... albeit usually fully clothed!
this is a classic i thought everyone would have maybe heard it once
One of the first songs I learned on guitar. My high school rock band played it as one of the first we played together along with proud Mary and later born on the bayou. Great band. Fun to play. Can't say enough about them.
I remember these as a preteen and like you said the beat and not really listening to the words, I hear it now. CCR was popular during the Vietnam era.✌🏽💕. I love your reactions and you’re listening deeper than a preteen back then. Keep it coming I hear something new every time I listen.😊
I love CCR. My favorite song of theirs is I Put a Spell on You
So many great hits from this band! Born On The Bayou and Susie Q are two Must Listens!
Proud Mary. So many hits and catchy tunes.
Check out also by CCR... Born on the Bayou, Proud Mary, and Suzie Q. Keep the videos coming sir!
Their from the East Bay. El Cerrito I think... I'm hooked on your stuff... I was 27 when you were born, Jimmy Hendrix, Janice Joplin, and Jim Morrison died at that age. I could give you tons of background.
Love CCR! This is one of their Viet Nam war songs. They are big part of the history of that time!
Their music came to life during the VietNam war. I dated a veteran from that horrible mess, and he LOVED all CCR music.
Your an amazing reactor 👍 always a pleasure to watch you enjoying the music 🤙
the young guy discovers CCR !
Been listening to them 1967 and never get tired of them
my favorite is : (It came out of the sky) far the best song
along with (willy and the poor boys) coming in a second !
it came out of the sky; that is a great song and yes one of my favorites....
Born On The Bayou. Greatest guitar solo in rock history!
The first thought that pops in my mind when this song starts playing is The Dude in huis car... The big Lebowski
Great song by a great band! They have a lot of great songs, react to Who'll stop the rain!
I went to England to visit my British boyfriend. He was a CCR fan so blasted this driving through the moors .
The seventies and the two decades book ending it were so full of great music that one was constantly in danger of taking if for granted. It was a great time to be alive.
A classic from the misunderstood lyrics file. "There's a bathroom on the right".
(Hendrix - "Scuse me while I kiss this guy". "Louie Louie"......you know.)
AM Radio format drove song length back in the day. Extended versions of songs were often on the album - vinyl at 33 1/3 - and those versions would get played on the FM formats.
Remember bouncing around the room to this in college, too damn many years ago. But love how it got ya. All right!
Please oh please....do Born on the Bayou! Won't disappoint!
