my favourite part is greg's introduction.
His intro in Episode 10 was longer and better - it took up an entire part of the episode!
[Bob Derkach plays some rather fitting sinister music on the piano throughout this intro. The cast, except Greg, are laying mousetraps on the stage]
GREG: People of Clark County, people of the MGM Grand Hollywood Theatre, and viewers watching at home, what you see behind me is the cast bringing out the implements for the most dangerous game ever attempted in the history of improvisation.
The cast is now lying on the stage one hundred live mousetraps. That's right - one hundred live mousetraps. Two of our performers here tonight are going to perform in a field of fully armed live mousetraps. Death-dealing, poisonous, dipped in curare weapons of mouse destruction.
No other group has ever attempted performing in a field of live mousetraps until we have decided to do so here tonight, but not only will our two performers be performing in a field of live mousetraps... They will be absolutely barefoot, that's right, exposing their sissy Hollywood actor toes to the vicissitudes of these limb-chopping phalanges-cutting almost surely deadly mousetraps.
"Who would do that?" I hear you cry. I have two such men here tonight. One - he's mad, he's bad, he's crazy. The man with no name - Sean Masterson. The other - billionaire, philanthropist, recluse, and friend of Charlie Sheen - Drew Carey. [audience cheers and applauds] Yes, they will be performing in this field of live mousetraps.
[Sean and Drew stop laying mousetraps, and some of the backstage crew enter the stage to help lay the mousetraps]
Sean and Drew, I'm gonna have to ask you at this juncture to take your shoes off and let the crew help out, so we can do this before we serve f@cking breakfast here.
"No, Greg", I hear you cry! "You mustn't let this happen! We love Drew! Drew's a beloved comedy figure here in America! If his feet are cut to ribbons, how will he play Plinko on The Price is Right?..." [a mousetrap goes off as Kathy sets it. Kathy screams] Ninety-nine. Ninety-nine live mousetraps, and one dead one. [Kathy removes the dead mousetrap].
Drew doesn't care, because he laughs in the face of fear. Drew is a man who looks Death in the eye and goes "Har-har! I don't care, I'm rich! ...and I have very expensive SAG insurance!"
But not only will they be performing completely barefoot, they will also be absolutely blindfolded. That's right! [Kathy hands Drew and Sean their blindfolds. Drew gives his blindfold to an audience member at the front] Kathy Kinney is now handing Drew... [to audience member] Will you please, sir, will you check to see that you cannot see through that? Can you see through those blindfolds?
AUDIENCE MEMBER: No.
GREG: What's that?
AUDIENCE MEMBER: No, sir!
GREG: No, you cannot see through those blindfolds. Thanks, Dad. Now... [audience laughs] Joking, of course, they cannot see through these blindfolds.
Two of our cast - Kathy Kinney and Jonathan Mangum - are going to hold a rope, made out of a space-age polymer developed during the NASA programme in the fifties. It has a tensile strength of over 450,000 pounds per cubic zirconium inch. This is to keep Drew and Sean from toppling into the audience and giving the best full contact lap dance in the history of the MGM Hollywood Theatre.
[Inserted from next part: GREG: And now I give you the punishing, painful, poisonous and almost certain to be fatal Mousetrap game.]
[AD BREAK]
GREG: To get the scene underway... from you, young lady... [points to an audience member] ...is a period from history. A period from history.
FEMALE AUDIENCE MEMBER: World War II.
GREG: World.. War.. II... And now I give you the punishing, painful, poisonous and almost certain to be fatal Mousetrap game.
He and Brad Sherwood can sell you the danger of this game like a top-of-the-line car
When ryan is laughing his ass off, you know you said something really clever or funny...or both 😂 2:08

"I think the laundry machine is on fire."
'Ye-ah.'
"Stop drop and roll."
'What?'
"Stop drop and roll!"
You can *feel* his reluctance to follow that part of the improv.

As someone who has had a mousetrap sprung on my toe by accident I can tell you it really hurts, like seriously hurts.

I feel like there is some strategy to this, but after five years of repeated watching, I can't figure it out
I don't think these guys have any strategy at all. But when Brad and Collin do it as part of their Two Man Group. They take smaller and slower steps. They still hurt, but they can control more because less of their weight is placed on each step.
I'd do the stingray-shuffle. :-D
they used to do this on Drew Carey's Improv All Stars so Greg is just fibbing when he says it's never been done before

Colin & Brad have played Mousetraps in their two-man show. They make it ever more complicated by not only having mousetraps on the floor, they have mousetraps dangled at head and genital heights. If you thought that was bad enough, the scene floating somewhere on UA-cam saw Colin & Brad having to sing an opera, having to start each line with the next letter of the alphabet!

Honestly, this isn't funny. It's actually unnecessary, the show is absolutely brilliant without the need for cheap entertainment tactics.
