Awww, we got my labs leg amputated after the UPS truck hit him 11 years ago. He is turning 15 next week and still thinks he’s a puppy

I have a 1/2 Akita/Chow...he's 14 hitting 15 in Feb...he still acts like 2....it's damn hilarious. If I would dye his fur, he'd pass for 5. hahahahahaha !!!!! :P :P

I got my left leg amputated 2 years ago, but I wasn’t too worried, seen plenty of 3 legged dogs adapt fine.
Poor demo hope he recovers quickly he's got a great family to love him.

We lost our McGyver, an Aussie, to lymphoma in August. He had over 10-years, and we really miss him. I’m so happy you were able to treat your puppy, and I hope y’all have many more years ahead together. It was so sweet to see your daughter hugging him as he fell asleep.

2 years ago I had the exact same procedure done in my knee, because of my rheumatoid arthritis I had one of those flaps and it was big, and it HURT!!! Feel you demo❤️

My three year old daughter, Mallory, suggested we should tell you that puppies can’t talk, so you don’t have to ask him the same question a bunch of times, but puppies can love so he would probably like to have a hug while he doesn’t feel good.

Hey Matt, Matt here. I'm so thankful for this video. Our 6 month old Golden Retriever just had surgery for the exact same thing. OCD. I'm thankful that you explained all this. It helps me to understand. The worst part is watching a puppy want nothing more than to run around while he is recovering.

Not gonna lie, seeing demo like that made me emotional. Demos facial features look somewhat alike my pitbull's and I would be scared outta my mind if my dog had to go through surgery. Glad demo's ok❤
Hugs to Demo. Get well soon buddy! My GSD, Ajax, sends his love. He had surgery for a loop - pretty sure that’s not the right word for it - in his intestines about 3 weeks ago. Thought we were going to lose him.
I had something similar when I was younger in my elbow. From throwing a baseball. Not sure what they called it, but they had to go in with a camera in one side of my elbow, and scrape cartilage out through another little hole.

My large dog has a limp on her left front leg as well. It started when she exercised and now its pretty much forever. We also took her to a specialist, but they weren't sure what is wrong.

Give Demo lots of hugs from Michigan. I had this happen on my right knee and the weirdest thing that happened was when I would try to step down a step it hurt so bad. It started in late 1999 then my husband turned ill, so I never did anything about it until six months after my husband passed away in 2001.

just a question and it might be interesting to find out the answer. A new therapy for joint repair in humans is using stem cells to regenerate joint cartilage. I've had two friends who have had it done rather than getting a joint replacement and the results were amazing! Wonder if that might be a workable solution for Demo?
Super vet over here in the UK is doing it, but even Matt might struggle to cover the cost. But Demo is worth it💚
@@alisterthompson1733 Thanks Alister! With over 1500 comments I was not sure that Matt would even see my question! Not sure what the costs are in the UK, but here one of my friends has had both of his knees done, they were "bone on bone" condition and it cost him about US $7000 per knee. Certainly not cheap and so far the procedure has not been covered by any health insurance plan that I am aware of. Here in the US we have thousands of different health plan options with different coverages so I'm only able to comment on the ones I know of and so far nont that I have heard of cover this rather calling it "experimental" procedures.

Have the same condition in both my knee’s; Cartelage is damaged and even have some bone damage
I hope to get prosthetic knee’s next year to end the pain

I had this same operation on my right knee about 10 years ago Arthroscopy I think it's called. I asked for my flappy bit of cartilage too, and I have it in a little sample tube. It was bloody painful for the first week of recovery but afterwards it was fine. Certainly way better than having your knee dislocate itself as you were walking depending which way the cartilage was sitting in the joint space!
