Im fully convinced that the people who says Agatha sucked never watched the show themselves, and are only parroting what "anti-woke critcs" who went in with the intention of hating the show were saying.
Agatha et al represented a "detour wrap up" year where we got mostly a dump of the last category B or C level superhero projects. It's not so much whether Agatha slayed or not, but by the mid 2020s most real fans are asking "when are we gonna get to the Fantastic Four, Daredevil, the next Avengers, and full live X-Men stuff?" If the driving factor behind prioritizing a show is "showcase a minor gay character like Wiccan" instead of major Marvel franchises, no wonder people have been rejecting what the access media is pushing.
@@hangeloarias7580 Same people who are convinced it flopped, even though all evidence points elsewhere. I get this show not being for everyone; but the entitled incel hate does indeed feel as if it has no connection to actually watching the show
@ Love your real evasion, of all the points I made. Talk about entitlement. What we want are the TOP comic book characters prioritized, not the top DEI checklist items prioritized.
I subscribed to you without watching a single video only because of the title and than forgot about it now that i have watched this video now i am going to binge your channel overnight.
2024 was overall a good year for them and def an improvement from the last 2 years but Notice how their best projects last year was mutant focused? Literally a sign on what marvel should focus on in the future😂
I can honestly say, that Agatha was one of the biggest surprise for me this year. Everyone trashed it, including me, seeing the rainbow colored theming for the witches' silhouette. But oh boy! I am glad I gave it a chance especially because Kathryn Hahn my birthday Twin is there. It was actually well written and the twist and turns rewards viewers who gives attention to minute details. Now it's one of my favorite show, will rewatch again on Halloween. Didn't watch Echo, and was Click-baited by Storm in What If. I hate that the show was so focused on Captain Carter, not my cup of tea. I agree with you on both Xmen and D&W.
What If not being a rousing success is ultimately their own fault. They were more focused on connecting things than telling fun and interesting stories.
Now coming back to the MCU, at the end of last year, yes i had superhero fatigue but i was hopeful because of secret Wars, i was patient that this all shit is going to make sence in the end just because secret wars was so big in the comics. But now after kang debacle i don't know man, i don't know.
Honestly I feel like this multiverse saga will feel like a mess even if secret wars is good, they just want it to finish and move on to the mutants. I think 2025 will show us the real MCU going forwards, while 2024 was a better year then previously it doesn’t tell us much about the MCU in the way Cap 4, thunderbolts and fantastic four will
It’s viewing figures were okay, but not as high as other marvel series like Loki, Wandavision and Falcon. It’s unknown if there will be a direct season 2 but it seems likely we will see Billy and Agatha again in another show (most likely a Billy series)
Similar for me but I think I’d rate Echo over What if and rate them both fine, I didn’t think anything was bad but definitely could have been way better
He was though? This is from Google - Adrian Hough as Kurt Wagner / Nightcrawler: A Catholic, blue mutant with teleporting abilities and prehensile hands and feet. Hough reprises his role from the original series in X-Men '97, which includes the character's playfulness from the comics
Ah true, I guess I should have said Marvel Studios project. X-Men 97 isn’t technically in phase 5 but we do see the watcher in it so it seems kind of marvel multiverse related
X men 97 and Deadpool and Wolverine were masterpieces, Agatha all along was amazing but had a pretty slow start, echo is painfully mediocre and had it not been for kingpin the show would’ve been bad and what if season 3 is awful and the only bad mcu project in 2024. I enjoyed the beginning of the season but the moment we got to episode 4 and 5 the season became a train wreck of a mess. I hope 2025 is so much better.
Agree with all of this - although I did actually like the Howard the duck episode. Sure it’s a weird story and I would have preferred other premises for what if, but it’s a pretty solid interpretation of Howard the duck from the comics and I liked how it just got weirder and weirder. There were other episodes I liked less and the team up the end was awful
😂 it has like 700 million hours watched. Sure it’s probably lower than most Marvel shows but that’s not nobody. I don’t hear many people saying it’s good but also it’s not awful, it’s just fine. The best part is kingpin and the worst part is the whole middle section outside of New York. Ill never watch it again and I’d prefer a show about a different character but it wasn’t terrible, it was just fine
@@CINEMAZE Do you have a credible source about those 700 million hours? If you don't hear people saying its bad, then you are living in a bubble my friend. How can you say this show is fine? Even Disney wanted to cancel it themselves. The only reason this show was made is because Echo checks all the pandering boxes. Do you really think true Marvel fans wanted a show about Echo? A lame side character in the Hawkeye show? Especially when they could have choosen every other Marvel character? Also comic book Echo is way better the MCU Echo.
The Neilsen’s streaming ratings (which is one of the most reputable data sources for streaming info) says “The series was watched for 731 million minutes in its first six days of availability on Disney+” - and that’s only within its first week so likely more have watched it since (although all episodes dropped at once which probably boosted this number more than most marvel shows). I agree I would rather have a show about a different character and that the comic character was better. I don’t think this show was made for pandering reasons, I think it was made for content. It was greenlit when Disney wanted content for their platform, Hawkeye introduced a character and they saw a chance to make content out of the character. That’s not the way it should be (it should be when a script is good) but it’s the way it is, the same thing happened with Agatha but in that case Agatha ended up being a better show than Echo. Again no one wanted an Agatha show but that doesn’t make the show bad. I didn’t say I didn’t hear people saying it’s bad, I said I didn’t hear many, I also hear the same amount saying they enjoyed it and even more saying it was just meh - if you are only hearing negative opinions you are the one living in a bubble my friend.
X-Men 97 was easily the best marvel thing this year (outside of comics) Deadpool & Wolverine was entertaining but not good in terms of story Agatha was enjoyable too but just a one time watch Echo was Dogshit, and i didn't watch what if s3
tbh what if was disappointing simply for the facts you stated but also they now have rights xmen fantastic four and other characters they're not even putting to use on an animatied show literally about making universes however you want them to and put whoever in them.
So true, the episode of hers in what if season 3 was one of the worst because I just don’t care about her character. They haven’t won me over on her yet like they have with many other new characters
I disagree, outside of the team up episodes I thought the Iron Heart episode sucked. Riri had no interesting qualities, it felt too similar to other apocalyptic what if episode we’ve seen before and they wasted Mysterio returning. What if is interesting when it takes a character and does a spin on it, we haven’t seen Ironheart so we didn’t get to see a spin on Riri - it was just her, nothing interesting and nothing changed. Also the team they paired her with sucked it just felt like whatever voice actors they could get, why not pair her with people who knew Stark or Spidey to link the story to Mysterio
@@CINEMAZE True. There was no connection between her and Mysterio. It felt like they put a bunch of MCU characters in a bag and blindly pulled. Iron Heart, Vision, Wong, and Mysterio? But no spider-man who would've made a lot more sense. Also, it seems like whenever they need Marvel cast to return, they always gun for Okoye and Wong's actors
Yes it was a success. Having only one Marvel event in the year was a great decision. Echo was small and decent, the Daredevil scene was perfect and Kingpin was great. I didn’t watch X-Men 97 but it looks great. Deadpool & Wolverine was freaking awesome, enough said. Agatha All Along 🤮🤮 I refuse to watch that. And What If Season 3, other than the 1872 episode (wild west Shang-Chi and Kate Bishop, SO COOL) this season was dumb. Now we’re definitely going onto a better time for the MCU again, I can’t wait for the F4, Daredevil Born Again and Thunderbolts.
Agree that less projects was good. You really should check out X-Men 97, if you like the Xmen you will love it and if you don’t (like me) it will make you like them. By skipping Agatha you are skipping one of the better MCU projects. Yeah I liked the Shang-Chi episode and the red guardian one, I also liked the Howard the duck episode because I think it accurately captured Howard the duck from the comics despite it being a weird premise
@@CINEMAZE I want to watch X-Men 97. But Agatha no. That is a prime example of one of the many things Disney does that is a bad influence on the world. I’m not watching something about witches and I hate horror and musicals.
Fair but Disney have been making musicals about witches since their first animated film of Snow White in 1937 this isn’t something new, plus it’s based off characters from the comics? Also sure it has one song but it’s not really a musical and it is less of a horror theme than Dr Strange 2
Gurl Agatha slayed and non of you can tell me otherwise
