    groud123456 Oh gosh. Aliya is anything but rubbish. She respected her coach so much that Alexander Alexandrov said in a recent interview that he moved to Brazil mostly to protect Aliya because the Rodionenkos hated Alexander and started to bring Aliya into the issue and threatened her reputation. Trust me, no coach would move to Brazil to protect their athlete if they didn't have that much respect or love for them. You might want to check your sources before making pathetic comments like you just did without vaild facts!

    ***** I don't get your problem it clearly states in the caption that she was the "2010 All-Around World Champion" I mean if they put the year than there's no problem. Once you win a title you keep it forever.

    No, @glower125 is correct. The is a reason why it's called artistic gymnastics and then Russians don't include flawless dance for no reason. It's because the Russians and Soviets have been around longer and they understand why they should do it

    To be fair if you go to her pre-injury videos you'll find thousand comments about her twisting form on vault and floor. People still comment on this but not so much because well, we all know she doesn't have good twisting form and since she is still coming back from an injury that could have killed her career people are delighted to see her despite her form

    She had a hard time on UB before this, I found a review on the Examiner:
    Aliya Mustafina, bars: Stalder full to Khorkina. Inbar blind to pike Jaeger. Inbar full and stops! Kips off again and continues. Stalder Khorkina transition back up to high, bends legs on giant before dismount, does extra giant and full in tuck, stuck. Openly crying as she leaves the podium. She sits down dejectedly in a chair and is saying something and gesticulating and crying, poor thing! Grishina gives her a hug.

    She seemed tired ....I feel so bad for her. I hope she can do better . She deserves an Olympic medal no matter what colour it is.

  • @Ridicolosamente
    @Ridicolosamente 12 років тому +2

    I think that's unfair.
    Mustafina is absolutely gorgeous to watch, and I think the artistry and dance are more innate in Mustafina than they are in Wieber, but you can't imply that Jordyn doesn't love gymnastics because of this.

    she fell out on the double spin 1 leg up, she fell out on triple twist she had 1 or 2 step back from the double tuck, judges want perfection!

    The Russians are huddled around Mustafina, who is still sitting there in her leotard, and now getting some words of what looks like comfort from the female coach on the floor. She's never had a meet like this, but a gymnast's career is long and varied, with peaks and valleys and all that. The European Championships may be cursed for her -- in 2010 she was young and not at her best. In 2011 she tore her ACL.

    I read it somewhere that a repaired ACL is never fully recovered. Pavlova never got back to her full difficulty and now she didn't even make the team. We constantly see Bross, Shawn and Mustafina making big errors when before touring an ACL they were the example of perfection and consistency.

    I think we should give the girl a break. She was seriously injured only a year before, she's getting her skills/difficulty back pretty fast and it was her first major competition since last year (and it's the same competition where she was injured), it's not easy. If the olympics were tommorow she wouldn't be a contender for AA gold, but the olympics are in 3 months, she has the difficulty and time to polish her mistakes.

    This is me again:
    I'm personally in shock she didn't make any EF, though I understand it a bit because I saw in her a bit of that fear and clumsiness I saw on Johnson on 2011 Visa's. I can't compare Mustafina to Wieber at the moment, I'd prefer to compare her to Shawn or Bross which are also making a difficult comeback.

    You're telling the truth and thanks for pointing that out. Jordyn Wieber doesn't have this kind of form in her legs when she twists, and is certainly a lot stronger on FX. It's too soon to tell but based on these past few performances in the most recent international friendship meets leadingup to the Europeans, it looks like it's going to be a showdown between Jordyn Wieber and Larisa Iordache. Any one of these two could take the AA title in London.

    I never asked "who_is_better" and I never asked "who_was_better" either. I said if Mustafina were in full strength right now (Amanar, consistency, small upgrades on beam), she would be better. Who do you think will win AA gold then?

  • @MissMuppetLover
    @MissMuppetLover 12 років тому

    I think she was just off today. She may have been scared to because this is where she was injured. Everyone falls, including Wieber. People shouldn't be so harsh and critical. She was able to finish the day off injury free and she will be back for TF, ready to fight!

    serious question, why cant these girls nail their routines down consistently? Im a snowboarder and am the am level (which is sponsored right below pro, many people who you think are pros are ams) and i know when im learning a trick in snowboarding i try it everyday and set a goal like land it 5 times in a row until i can do it without thinking about it and can do it off features which are all vastly different, the floor never changes so why is it so difficult/ Im not hating just curious

    I believe that Mustafina is a gorgeous young gymnast that has a feisty attitude. She deserved her gold on the uneven bars for sure, she was wonderful. I do not believe, howver, that Komova was robbed of the AA because she truly was outperformed by Gabby Douglas. And about Maroney, I think what you have said is equally disgusting as what Suga Lips said, she is also a beautiful young gymnast that was upset at her self for making a mistake in her signature event. Please, these are young girls.

    Recently it looks like Jordyn is having problems with her basics. Her coach last year said they were having issues on the amanar and had to go back to the basics to try and fix it. This last year as well, she has had problems on her 2.5. She is twisting too soon.

    I hate how people say her form is awful...lay off i bet half of you are eating on the couch and criticizing Aliya when almost all of you can't even do a triple twist. So maybe her form isn't great but nothing to keep blabbing about!

  • @Ramiromasters

    With sports like snowboarding even though is physically draining you don't have to use your body to 100% strength so your body is ready for the next feat. Many of the moves gymnast do, demand 100% of their body's output and after their muscles end up shaky, tense, hard, or even soft.
    Sadly many gymnast on regular basis are dealing with pain in joints and tears... some people have even proposed to ban gymnast routines because they feel bad for the poor girls.

    Yes, on UB. No, on VT, BB, and FX. I want Mustafina to do well too, but until she can fix the form and technique in her twists (which the judges are starting to hit her on more and more as each competition progresses), then it's almost impossible to say that she could be stronger than Wieber. Wieber's twists are a lot cleaner than Mustafina's, and this is not a biased opinion, this is a factual opinion.

    She merely brushed her coach aside. You're exaggerating a lot just like NBC. She knew that she had messed up and wanted to be left alone. I think you're only seeing one side of the story. Did you know that she gave gifts to the Chinese gymnasts after the team finals? No? It was a gesture of kindness which was not shown. Did you see her hug and comfort Komova? Did you hear about the compliments that she and Komova said about Gabby after the AA finals? You're judging her harshly for one action.

    I know what you mean I first heard of her in this Olympics and I was like oh wow this girl looks so sad or just really depressed or shy or something and then i saw her do that power charge to the vault and i was like oh shit she means business. But its true I'm not sure if she is aware of it or not but she does have sad eyes.

    It sounds like both occasions the girls acted in a similar attitude, all their lives they have been oreoaring for this, so obviously they are so caught up or angry with themselves when something goes wrong. Full grown adults act that way too watch any football game or another sport. I'm sure they both regret their actions but at the time anger or whatever emotion rules them.
