Literally expirenced this a few min ago. I was so scared she was in pain I was gonna cry. But I contacted the vet and they told me she's just in Heat. This is the first time she's in heat too since she never behaved like this before. The vet sent me this and another video link.
Well technically, female cats are in extreme pain when they're in heat. Their uterus starts burning so the screams are a cry for help for a male to end her suffering. But the best option is to Neuter/Spay!

A big thank you. i thought my cat was dying or got constipated. She is showing the exact same behaviour, oddly enough I have a male cat in my home and he is least interested in her calls.
We were rubbing her tummy and what not.
Take your finger and whichever way her tail is curled go to the opposite side, press down and you'll feel a slight give. You will know when you hit it because your cat will his and do that yowling noise. Don't let up because this is normal. Once you do this hold it down for 15-30 second and she will hiss and yowl. Again this is normal. Afterwards she will go to a corner and roll around on her stomach and back. She will be fine for 2-12 hours
Was given this advice and it cut all the yowling out.

@@daisyle125 Ir calms her down and shell roll around and hush for a few hours. I don't have the money either. You can get it done for like 40-80$ but petsmart charges 200+ which is ridiculous

If there's any rescue center/shelter, you can explain your situation and ask for a free or cheap desex surgery. Your mom doesnt sound like a nice person to the cat and you are all she has. Please don't neglect her.

We realised our cat was in heat when we were woken up at midnight by a random tomcat going full on batshit crazy in our kitchen. When we saw him bouncing around like a Powerball hell bent on crockery annihilation he vanished into the living room. Two hours later we found him huddled in a sex crazed bundle underneath the sideboard (up to this point we had no idea this void existed). After thirty more minutes of mild cajoling, threats of violence and actual violence the tom was finally 'encouraged' out of the front door.
A while after that a litter of five moggie kittens arrived and we now keep our windows shut overnight- just in case.
Ha ha ha....
You might also want to point out that some cats go through what they call a "quiet" heat. My old cat did this her entire life. No calling, no rubbing, nothing, tomcats would just show up xD.I'd walk out the door and 3-4 tomcats would scatter in different directions and I'd be like "oh, Bitty's in heat o3o"

@@xa3493Unless you're willing to put up with a pregnant cat and look after/hind homes for a litter of kittens then get her straight to the vet and have her spayed. Even if she is pregnant, its routine for vets to spay especially early term. Get her fixed and you won't have this problem anymore

My cat literally started doing this yesterday when we were supposed to take her brother to the vet to neuter him. It got postponed to tomorrow so we keep them locked in seperate rooms and she gets all crazy showing off her butt and rolling around making sounds. It's making me uncomfortable.

@@capostrength3908 just don't spray your cat for that, she cannot control it and is alredy pretty uncomfortable. Take her to the vet after she's done and if you can't take her right away, ask your vet for pills to stop it. You shouldn't use them for a prolonged period of time tho.
@@miledith555 yeah I only sprayed her a few times before I knew what was really going on. I didn’t know until she started doing the butt thing. But it’s weird because I have another cat and they’re the same age and she doesn’t make a peep. Like she’s vocal but she like whispers.

So glad I’ve seen this! My youngest cat has only turned 1, and is strictly indoor as she’s disabled. My other 2 are indoor/outdoor cats so I’ve never seen the full symptoms of a cat in heat. My poor youngest baby cat has just came into heat and was doing that weird little move with her legs and I thought something was wrong or maybe she was in pain 😞 glad to see it’s normal! Thanks for this video. Phoning the vets tomorrow to get her booked in to be spayed so she doesn’t have to go through this again x

Yeah…our newest stray is our first female, and I’ve only had male house cats. The two toms both tend to chase her off, and I know they are both not fixed. They all pretty much tolerate our fixed male house cat, but he’s harnessed trained for his nightly walks. The new one is VERY vocal and affectionate and rolls a lot. She doesn’t do the squatting tail to the side thing though.

My first female cat that I saved 2 1/2 years ago that someone POS abandoned (around 1.5 months old at that time) has never done this type of stuff. But the second & last cat hopefully, (that my kids talked my wife into getting that was 9 weeks at the time) started doing this recently. She's only around 8 or 10 months old. Didn't think she go into heat that fast. Been constantly putting & rolling around last few days. Alway tail up in the air moving her back to legs. Especially when we pet her. I have an 11 year female Aussie Shepherd as well. All 3 get along so well.

I had an aunt that had a cat that was in heat, she was meowing constantly, they had a fireplace and a tom cat got on their roof, and actually came down the chimney and did the deed, they walked into the living room and saw a trail of sooty paw prints coming from their fireplace, and a soot covered tom cat mating with their cat, That cat probably thought she had a visit from Santa, and my aunt got the gift of six kittens 2 months later. needless to say, that cat got spayed, (and ps, all the kittens got homes)
