Take care of the Chicago & Northwestern locomotive...my father worked for them and my grandfather retired after nearly fifty years with them (South Pekin Illinois)
Yeah, This channel is # 1 in my book, a lot of the other channels are nice to look at but you give your channel ( life) inspiration and creative know-how...and along with a selling point, your voice will serve you well say on TV/Radio It's like being home.
I missed the live stream but did get to watch it in post-production. The repairs were on point and great to see plus the running sessions. Another great live stream, Jersey Bill
Harrison, I am a big fan of your videos! I'm using my Mom's account to comment but my Pop Pop and I watch your videos all the time. And we have a layout too! Would you do another layout video soon? Thank you, CJ
After 20 years of not having trains, I now know what the button (Momentum) is for with my used NEW controller. It pays to watch your Videos for information. needed.
SMT - to make your Hershey factory dispense small candy pieces, maybe you could find a junker Tyco culvert pipe unloader? This accessory pushes culvert pipe sections off of a flat car and into a bin. You could get the mechanism working, modify the unloader, and place it inside the factory.
Another great fix-it vid, Harrison. When you are not working on the trains what do you do? You make tearing these engines down to parts and reassembly look so easy.
I have an old Marx loco with the pickups on the front and back wheels. Every time it crosses the switch to my other track it stops. Is there a way to work around this?
In Columbus Ohio there is The Train Station and Robbie's Hobbies. About 45 minutes South East in Lancaster Ohio is a hobby/train store called The Smoke Stack.
she can be upgraded to run DCC. Also the trucks when you opened it was backwards... typically the power leads for the trucks for the top of your motor is on the right hand side not on the left. And you want the plastic motor mounts that screw in...
(Hint) buy locomotives and track and transformers and throttle controllers "brandnew" buy rolling stock and houses and accessories used! You actually save money by doing this method! This is a great method for all model trains and for a professional "view" of your layout.... Get and install a 8 channel "PoE" surveillance camera system with audio!
I can understand why you don't want to use a sewing pin to clean commutator slots, because you can slip and scar the commutator plates. Using something of a softer material is a good idea! For cleaning HO scale steel rail track, I wonder if anyone has tried using a new nylon scrub pad? The nylon scrub pads work good for cleaning the oxidation from O gauge tinplate rails. Oven cleaner can be used to strip paint from plastic models, but BE CAREFUL and use eye and skin protection!

Thank you so much, that's one of the nicest things I've heard 🙂

Thanks Bill. I'm glad this one worked out, the Athearn drives are some of my favourites.
good presentation. teardown and reassembly of the 80s-90s Athearn F7. A nice tutorial for a repair shop tech. $20. labor, $5. parts. A+!
I appreciate it. I like how easy these Athearn locomotives are to disassemble and work on.

Thanks for the support! There's gonna a video of rebuilding the yard soon.
Greetings from New Jersey doc.big train show in Edison NJ.shoud be a lot of fun!
Watched the replay. Funny reference to "Just Rolled In!" I watch that sometimes. Good repair on the engines too.
I love that show. I'm amazed by how many people add spray foam to stuff they shouldn't 😂
Great show smt thanks for all you do your the one to watch
Once again an amazing live stream!
Thank you!
great job Harrison! 👍👍
I enjoy railroad tycoon also. I love playing the Texas setting.

I don't use the feature very often but its fun to mess around with.
Thanks again Harrison.

Thanks for the idea
Matthew loves your channel too
Nice. Harrison!
Really enjoy ur videos
Glad to hear it :)
You can buy those motor mounts directly from atheran. You do good videos of repairs

I spend a lot of time editing and filming, besides that I have a motor recycling business.

Thanks for letting me know.
I have a marklin z gauge set and some Yugoslavian ho gauge trains
I've been waiting on another new video been checking everyday

I like the newer style of motor mounts as well, I wish they had them from the factory.
Finally a CNW,in fact one I have
Next live stream request: run the NYC Hudson doubleheading with the CNW f7
I've used JB 80 to get motors freed up and running good
I haven't worked with that type of oil before
It's a penatration oil that works really good.

From the pictures I;ve seen CNW used its F7's on its Chicago push-pull commuter runs.
Interesting :)
If you put a little dish liquid on the motor mounts they will slide in nicely .
I'll have to try that. I've always had trouble with the motor mounts.
@@SMTMainline when the dish liquid dries the titan right up.

I feel like a nylon scrub pad would work but I wonder if its prone to snagging on the sharp edges of HO track.
@@SMTMainline - You are right, the nylon pad does snag on the ends of tinplate rails!
I got the idea of using a nylon scrub pad to clean tinplate rails from a repair article in Classic Toy Trains magazine.
Cool
im getting into model trains i have a bachmann 0-6-0 starter steamer from pacific flyer set
Do you know what your favorite train for your layout Is Is because I wanna know
Alco C-4390 is BIZARRE - three axles in two axle trucks
I think that was Tyco trying to pinch pennies.
hey you do have cnw equipment
You need to invest in a 3Dprinter...You could make any part then..
I have one
Could you try to repair b unit
It would be the exact same process.
@@SMTMainline oki thank you buddy
Hi
I nomally enjoy your repair videos, but this is too bloody long...
Well I mean it was a live stream so of course it was long lol
Because it’s a livestream, not a video.
Wonky athearn locomotives are unusual simple mechanism not a lot too go wrong
It was a livestream so it's unedited unlike the videos I make which are condensed.
3h....zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
It seems like a lot but that's usually how much I record before it's edited down.
