After a little youtubing, i found out he's the son of the great Carly Simon and greater than great James Taylor. Tell's the whole story :) why this man is so well talented. He sure inspirated me to think different as ever before.
Its amazing how much dept and reality he (his lyrics) has even being the son of two icons. Too bad we live in a time of bad music and talentless stars. Or maybe all the world would be observing this talent develope.
"Saw":)/heard this song on documentary of a dutch guitar builder living in NY. Sitting in the living room talking about repairing old guitars and things like that. Wow, i really love this musicians. Timing, soul, lyrics, smooth singing/playing really GREAT. Just go on dudes i'm really
yeah, awesome song. These guys remind me a lot of Simon & Garfunke, simple harmony with some good guitar work and a lot of talent is all you need. Thank you pandora for showing me them :)
Im 14 and probably the only kid in my highschool who even knows who Ben Taylor is. We have the same style, same kind of personality. I dig the guy. Especially his song "wicked way"....talk about relating to the highschool expirience. I wish more people my age could get into his work.
Ben is way cool. Caught him few yrs back opening up for Bluestraveller at the Stone Pony, Asbury Park, NJ...He was great and so was his band at the time. One of the few bright lites in this fairly dim music world right now..He also does a great Macy Gray cover I heard too...Catch him if you can; you'll become a fan like me once you see him...
Yeah that's why Nicholas Cage changed his last name to cage rather than Coppola...the curse of a famous last name...sure you get connections but it can be a bad thing.
Lyrics: When it gets me depressed I find That it's best with my chest high As I stretch my lungs & express my love, Hold my breath & forget my pride, To reflect that the rest of our lives are a measure of time. We may as well try to express some style. I exhale my prayer. follow it with my eyes as it fills the air. In the back of my mind I imagine that you can hear As if you could still be near me. But Lately I've been breaking my mind, Trying my best but it's taking its time. & I've been forced to digest this wasteful emptiness. I'm supposed to laugh as if there's nothing going on. I know life goes on regardless, But nothing's been the same Since you've been gone. Another run around the sun, Look at the things we've seen. What have we both become? What have we dreamed? Who have we lost? And what have we won? I never could've believed that you wouldn't have finished what we'd begun. I never dared to image you could've have been taken away from us. Just, lately I've been breaking my mind, Trying my best but it's taking its time. Cause I've been forced to digest this wasteful emptiness. I'm supposed to laugh as if there's nothing going on. I know life goes on regardless, But nothing's been the same Since you've been gone, Since you've been gone, Since you've been gone. Now times change & the game plays on, And the truth remains but the rules have all gone wrong. Life rises, & here we are still looking for the place that we belong. Stronger than habit & fantasy, Deeper than gravity. What will be has to be. God planned it, I understand it. I hadn't imagined you'd leave me stranded On this stage in these lights where I'm standing. No right to complain Cause it's already more than I'd ever had asked. But without you The best has yet to pass & now this song is about you. And I've been forced to digest this wasteful emptiness. I'm supposed to laugh as if there's nothing going on. I know life goes on regardless, But nothing's been the same Since you've been gone, Since you've been gone, Since you've been gone.
what sort of strumming pattern are the two guys using? They are also in different keys (capo) it looks like which gives the song its bright and deep dual sounds wish this could be replicated with only one guitar
Best kept secret...Ben and Dave...best combo, composers, poets, performers, musicians and longtime friends...coolest vibe on UA-cam...
I love this song. It is so soothing. I love his voice and i love the lyrics. This is one of my favorite Pandora finds :)
Ben has an amazing cathartic voice! I'd love to meet this man one day. He seems so down to earth.❤

Capo: 4th
Intro: Em B G A, C G D
Verse: Am C G D
PreChorus: Em A Em A Em A C D
Chorus: Am C G D
