I am always inspired to EDIT my surroundings by removing clutter and color, which assaults my senses. This video is PERFECT and appeals to my minimalist sensibilities. Many of my friends don't understand why I avoid color and stick to neutrals. They find it boring; I find it calming.
I feel the same way Arleen! I find it gives the senses a chance to rest & restore especially after a long day. It’s all about creating a space that nourishes and inspires you the most xx

Finally a name for my dream style! It feels so obvious that intentionally selected pieces with warm, natural tones, curved shapes, and mixtures of textures is called wam minimalism. Now I know. Thanks for the great video - love the minimalistic narration so the images can speak for themselves.

Love the wooden and natural tones. They’re timeless and project warmth. The monochromatic theme seems like just a trend. Adding plants definitely livens up the spaces.

Lovely inspirational photo's that give you a sense of the vibe of a style. This gives a jumping off point to put your own spin on it.
I like that decor is used (which makes a space warm and cosy for me), but its minimal enough to prevent a space from looking cluttered.

I have narrowed down my Christmas colors to mainly green, with virtually no bright reds or other primary colors. I use quite a lot of plain green garlands…..not covered in berries or fake snow. No colored lights on a tree anymore, just small white ones.my rooms are mainly neutral. I have a few pieces of old pine furniture that I still love, and there are always a few baskets of different sizes holding magazines and other miscellaneous things. To me this is very calming. I realize others will think it’s boring but my home reflects me, not anyone else. I use lots and lots of candles scattered around….I freely admit I have a candle “problem”. 😁😁

The Modern Cottage style was presented by House Of Valentina in a video. The presentation is a little hyperbolic but I really enjoyed learning about this style. I am building a home here in Sydney and it seems to be meeting my aesthetic inside and out. I think that’s why I am so drawn to your Warm Minimalism design style. I think I’m a bit of a blend of both Warm Mimimalism and this new Modern Cottage style. I would love to see your take on this style. Do you think you could create a video, please? An interesting piece. At one time I thought myself a minimalist but after watching this I’m thinking maybe not. However I did find some key pieces that I would love to incorporate in my own style which would be a mixture of Belgian and country. I loved the fuzzy chairs And the pottery. I guess I would like to surround myself with more Homy feel than sharp edges and some white blank spaces. But I know someone out there would totally embrace this look. Thank you for another great video.

I love my warm minimal home. I have added touches of blush pinks and pale sage-y greens.I have some old pine pieces of furniture that add so much to my spaces also. I am still ridding my home of a variety of knick knacks…..it’s too “busy” still with those scattered around.

for me, windows is one of the strongest factors for "warm minimalist house or apartment". because this determines whether your house will be gloomy or not. and even I heard it affects the aura of the home owner.

Lovely video. Very calming, soothing with wonderfully curated items. Would you advise placing just one colorful item among the neutrals that pops out for contrast (called a discordant colour in paintings, i.e. discordant in a positive way)?

it smells misty aloa vera Asia it looks refined earthy Bourgondy and sits in a the price range of antiques. Ideal as bysetters and holefillers with a distinct fine class. Very very nice. I keep coming back to this video for inspiration! Can some of the accent colors be charcoal/gray/black, e.g., if one used a grey/charcoal rug on the floor to contrast with the white and light colored furniture everywhere else, would that take away from the minimalism aesthetic? Should the rug compete for attention with other items by contrast in the room or be a supporting player?
So glad to hear you find the information and visuals useful! Glad you find the information and visuals helpful! Warm minimalism uses warm-toned neutrals, while traditional minimalism opts for cool colours like cool grey, charcoal and cool-toned whites.
As both fall under the larger umbrella of minimalism, your colour palette can just be based on your preferred minimalism style :) I prefer when the rug complements the surrounding by matching the room's colour scheme for a cohesive look. But it doesn't mean you can't select an eye-catching rug with interesting textures or patterns xx
@@suzieandersonhome thank you so much, this is very helpful in trying to first understand what my preferred minimalism style is: whether, warm or cool or mix of both. Living in a warm climate, cool surroundings are soothing on my eye especially in the harsh light of summer, however, I have some beloved wood furniture pieces which I do want to keep, so it's going to be predominantly cool, accented and rounded out by some warmth. Thank you also for the guidance on rug selection: so, it's about cohesiveness vs. contrast. I'm leaning toward cohesiveness with the grey floor coloring (which may help make the space feel bigger) with some interesting texture to differentiate a bit from the rest of the floor. Now, onto find the right piece🙂

On the hunt for some plush slip covers to warm up some cold leather seating for winter. Have to find the faux fur pillows and throws I put away this spring. Somewhat minimalist here, just for ease of cleaning since I'm the maid, gardener, and cook.
