We follow the Sunnah and obey what prophet Muhammed (PBUH) ordered us. He ordered us to follow the majority and in today's time all the ulama around the world mainly adhere to two Sunni theological schools (Ash'ari and Maturidi). These two schools dominated the ulama and ummah for the last 1200 years. "My Ummah will not enjoin at a majority (in great abdunance in number over the other) upon error" [Ibn Majah]. "Whoever dies not adhering to the Majority has died in ignorance" [Tirmidi]. "“I asked my Lord, may He be glorified and exalted, for four things, and He granted me three of them and withheld one from me. I asked Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, not to cause my ummah to agree on misguidance in the grand majority, and He granted me that.” [Musnad Ahmed]. "And whoever contradicts and opposes the Messenger (Muhammad SAW) after the right path has been shown clearly to him, and follows other than the believers’ way. We shall keep him in the path he has chosen, and burn him in Hell - what an evil destination" [an-Nisa’ 4:115]. and follows other than the believers’ way. The Prophet SAW during the Fitan warned us on following other sects, saying to Hudhayfah Ibn Al-Yamani - "what do you suggest if I happen to live in that time? He said: You should stick to the majority of the main body of the Muslims and their leader. I said: If they have no (such thing as the) main body and have no leader? He said: Separate yourself from all these factions, though you may have to eat the roots of trees (in a jungle) until death comes to you and you are in this state." [Muslim]. " Who defected from obedience and separated from the majoirty/main body of the Muslim-then he died in that state-would die the death of one belonging to the days of Jahillyya." [Muslim] Stick to the main body. A time of trail is on us.

If you read into context, we know exactly what the prophet (PBUH) was saying. Read Musnad Ahmed again. You cannot deny this unless you deny the Sunnah. My advise for you is to follow the majority and majority of the ulama for the last 1200 years were upon Imam Abu Hassan al-Ash'ari (RA) and Imam abu Mansur al-Maturidi (RA) the two great Sunni theologians from the pious predecessors (salaf), barakallahu fik.

Ask yourself who contributed all Islamic sciences after the Salaf and who held the torch against innovators? That's right, the Ash'ari madhab. Even Hanbalis had a very similar creed as the Ash'aris and Maturidis. Pseudo-Salafis are only following the mistakes and innovations of Ibn Taymiyyah (RA) and Sheikh MIAW. Do not distort the Sunnah when it's clear.

Majority of the Ummah are Sunnis who go by four traditional schools. Ahlu Sunnah are everywhere when you visit all 50 Muslim countries, they don't only solely exist in the sub-continent so you can get off the hype juice.
