    There is a little mistake in the interview. Katja said, that there is 90 days in Lapland winter without sun coming up. It's actually about 50 days in Utsjoki.

      Well you're welcome in my home if you ever get out this way. Also, no big deal, but the title of this video would work better in English if it was either "The Girl with the Red Packraft" or "A Girl with a Red Packraft" depending on what you wanted to convey.

    • @caide
      @caide  7 років тому

      Oh that would be great! It would be a great honor! You are always welcome here Finland also. I was thinking about how to write that correctly and thanks for that also. I will change it.

      Great film guys! If you're coming to Canada check out the web site forums on www.myccr.com for trip ideas and you may be able to join a trip too. A lot of us have extra canoes we could lend you if you don't wanna bring your rafts but it looks like they'd be great to get into lakes U have to hike into and we have lots of those. Happy Paddling.

    If somebody don't know how to start, do it like me...: waterproof army shoes, for doing works in rough terrain!... ask people if they know people with skills you are interessted in (i was asking for people with knowledge about wild plants), go there, say hello, ask if you can help/work in exchange for knowledge..(.of course most people will offer you also food or sleeping place, hot shower, sauna, beer;) if you like this people, they like you, they will take you visiting friends, family, partys,....thats how it beginns...good luck:)

    That kind of lady what i need to find..I am happy that y are together even we had never ever meet.Your videos make all happy too...Can y put some information about canoes what y have what and what kind of and maby prieces too how much is to get those?

    • @caide
      @caide  7 років тому

      salotimo Thank you! We have inflatable packrafts from www.alpackaraft.com those are really heavy duty packrafts. There is now christmast sale in their shop and you can order those from there a little bit cheaper now. Packraft is best in rivers and rapids, but you can paddle flat water also, but its slower than regular canoe. Its really light weight, about 3kg so you can combine paddling and hiking trips!

    Beautiful video. What model Alpacka raft did you use?

    • @caide
      @caide  5 років тому

      Katja had there Alpaca - from the WW-series. These days she uses Wolverine and I have Gnarwhal Self-Bailer.

  • @jakevoorhees1687
    @jakevoorhees1687 7 років тому

    Did you use the H4n pro in this video? It sounds really good.

    • @caide
      @caide  7 років тому

      Yes I did. It shows in the video, if you watch it careful. One point I had it inside shelter and there was too much echo and I had the record level too low.

    • @caide
      @caide  7 років тому

      Zoom recorder must be really close to the subject, if one wants to record speech. It would be better to have also good shotgun microphone attached to the zoom to get speech and maybe have zoom recording ambience sounds...

    • @jakevoorhees1687
      @jakevoorhees1687 7 років тому

      How well does it work for recording ambient nature sounds?

    • @caide
      @caide  7 років тому +1

      It works really good, but if you want to record for birds for example, it would be better to have either shotgun microphone or that with zoom. I think I would some day buy also shotgun microphone, but i dont want to carry all the crap to the forest :)

    Kuinka kestäviä noi "reppulautat" on nykysin? Suunnittelin hankkivani kesäksi 2018 että tekis laskun ounasjokea pitkin hetasta rovaniemelle, mut arveluttaa et kestääkö se koko matkaa. Tuntuu löytyvän vaan videoita jossa puhkovat noita aina ensimmäiseen kiveen mitä tulee vastaan. Kuljettamisen kannalta packraft ois kyllä loistava.

    • @caide
      @caide  7 років тому

      Packraftit ovat todella kestäviä. Alpacka Raft on markkinajohtaja ja aika harvoin tulee mitään pahempaa osumaa. Olen laskenut satoja koskia ja yksi pienen pieni reikä tuli kerran pohjaan. Ja kivi osumia on tullut varmasti tuhansia.

      Juu, Alpacka raft on juurikin minkä hankitaa miettiny. Ainahan kivikkoisimmat kosket voi talutella rannalta kun eihän tuo paina mitään. Kiitos nopeasta vastauksesta! :D
