- In this video I go to QC coatings (586) 566-6315 to have my ktm frame powder coated in ktm orange. They results turned out great and for appearance you can't beat $125 for the end results.
Wow, that looks great! I thought that would cost a lot more. I’m going to eventually get around to a project bike.

My FJ1200 frame is in for powder coating.....can’t wait to see how it turns out seeing at it’s meant to me solid silver, not heaps of orange/brown!
Nice. My frame is holding up great. You have to love powder coating for its toughness.
Just as an example, the sandblasting “booths” cost 175 an hour to run, at least where I work
Wow. I had no idea that's the goikg rate as I only have had some frames powder coated and headers ceramic coated. So nothing just blasted by its self. 👍

Hey bud. The coater did the color and didn't tell me what it was unfortunately.
You have any issues with reading the vin after power coat?
Yes I did have that priblem. I had to razor blade off that part of the powder then I put some clear coat on after. That was my second frane I had powder coated abd they both turned out the same.
I’m gonna be getting a frame done here in as couple weeks and I’m gonna see if the shop can maybe tape off the vin or maybe clear coat power coat that area

Why without primer? Only 1 layer (color)?
I'm goikg to assume that powder coating only needs the one coat on it. It's differant than how you would paint with a standard paint system.
Just bought a bike what should I get for it?
What did you buy and what do you plan on doing with the bike? Ex trail riding, woods riding, racing, etc...
What color powdercoat did you you use and from what company?
I honestly don't know since I just brought my frame to the company. They just happened to have a friend that wanted to get his frame done also. A google search might help you.

Good question. I'm not sure of that since I just told them I wanted it ktm orange.

@@clintonlied no problem bud. 👍 Good guys there. One tip is to take a pic of your vin before it's coated. I can't really see mine after it was coated.
