I have the invaders rn, just bought a guitar with the x2n can’t wait to compare them. The invaders are great but I’ve noticed they get a little muddy with high gain
They're both very mean pups. I've used X2Ns for years but never owned an Invader. Yes, invaders are monstrous. I've certainly tried a lot of Invaders but never in my own axes. I like the Invader more than the D Activator X. Still better clarity, although not as clear as the X2N. From personal experience the X2N is great if you want a lot of power and cut, like an EMG but without the battery and a better coil split and parallel tone than what you would get with the coil splitting TW 81. The X2N gets pigeonholed as just a hard rock/metal pup but there's a lot more to it. Some jazz guys use them too because of the coil split and parallel cleans.
I have the X2N in my 7string schecter from 2011. This pickup is a metal machine monster. I've recorded, jamed, played on live venues and it melted faces. It chugs. Not only that. It's cleans are pristine. Leads are not so much his forte but it will do them. Based on my experience with it for 13 years i highly recommend it for high gain metal amps. Not to forgot his favorite amp. The JCM800.
Hi. Thanks for another great video. Can you add Seymour Duncan SH-13 (Dimebucker) against all this metal classics like DiMarzio X2N, Seymour Duncan INVADER SH-8, vs EMG-s 81, 85 ..., Seymour Duncan SH6, DiMarzio D Activator X ....
Hi! It's being a hard time trying to get a SH-13 here in Spain!! At least, I haven't found it yet, along with SH-5 model (which many people asks me about too). Whenever I had the chance, it will be here!! I promise! :)
wait, these aren't blink 182 riffs! (jk, because apparently these 2 pickups were used by that band back in the day). I'm more of a single coil guy overall, but one of the humbuckers in one of my guitars sounds boring, i was wondering if maybe an invader would be more exciting... plus those poll pieces have an intriguing look to 'em (but i guess the x2n also stands out)....
it's like the x2n as too much output that we have to lower the gain to have it tight as his challenger, or.... there's too much treble in it that it create the sizzle.
Invader wins. Hands down. All the way, all day! Nothing else compares. Maybe I’m biased, but it’s my favorite pickup. Every guitar I’ve ever put one in sounded awesome. Even those cheap Asian guitars sound like a million bucks with an Invader in them. The first guitar I ever bought was an Ibanez AX GIO back in the day. It was made out of “Agathis” mystery wood (whatever that is) for like 85 bucks new. I felt like the dealer ripped me off. The second and third guitar were a Fender American with a humbucker in the bridge and a Gibson Gothic Explorer, respectively. Put Invaders in them all. The cheap Ibanez sounder better. The only reason I didn’t play it more compared to the other two American made guitars was because the Ibanez had terrible action and a crooked neck. Invader for the win!
3:42 okay, this is so powerful it could literally knock me over. Thank you for this comparison
Fuck yeah I was waiting for this comparison. Thanks so much for posting!
I use the x2n for Years. The invader sounds great too!
I’ve been waiting for this comparison, awesome!!!
They both sound awesome! The Invader, with that Alnico 8 magnet, sounds righteously raw and a bit nasty!! Perfect!!!
Hello! Thank you for the comparison of the legendary and unique pickups! special thanks for Invader`s clean tone! IHMO Invader has great cleans.
X2N sounds better clean. Invader sounds clearer on the distortion tests. But I'd still go with an X2N.
Yeah, the Dimarzio' always have that classic sound.
Отлично, нужное и долгожданное видео)
Try the X2N-B vs. The SLUG
The INV seems to have a little more bass, wheras X2N has more sustain and a bit of high end fizz (high gain). I'd be happy with either :)

Invaders are extremely muddy. Duncan Distortion SH6, Custom SH5, or the X2N solve that issue.
@@gab.lab.martins Or Gibson Dirty Fingers
Same with the EMGs. DiMarzio just do things better They were the innovators of after-market pickups after all.
I feel like the x2n had more punch, I already have the invader, I might get the x2n next
Get the X2N . The Super Distortion bridge is my favorite but the X2N isn't far behind.

I couldn't jive with the x2n in my 7 string. Its in a bc rich jrv. Frankly nothing so far has sounded that good in that guitar.
X2N sounds a little bit more "gaudy", and Invader sounds a little bit more "round".
In my humble opinion.
Thanks for the video!
I’d love to see the x2n vs nazgul. I’m considering switching to the x2n.

Invader!!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I just can’t decide between the two, they both sound fantastic! I’m looking to swap the bridge of my ex-200, which hasn’t arrived yet lol
I am trying to decide on which one I want to drop in my Alex Laiho.
I put an X2n in a Bronco Bass and it immediately identified as a baritone guitar.
X2n vs emg81 please?
X2N big sound with lots of bass, 81 is more tight ;
How much different are the DiMarzio compare to Dimebuckers?
The Invader sounds kinda muddy compared to the X2N.
X2N = god
Both sound great but i think Invader would be better in maple fretboard while x2n in rosewood
Which has better harmonics, for Judas Priest / Megadeth type metal music?
i guess the invader
The Invader has a more pronounced upper mid, while the x2n is broader.

Leroyyyyyy Jenkins!!! I couldn’t agree more, invader over everything
Has anyone tried, Invader(bridge) & Black Winter(neck)? In a Tele-Gibb type guitar.
Duncan sounds a touch louder, bit more sustain. It's so close.
Invader 100% wins for me.
Invader
I don't care what anybody else says. DiMarzio did it first. DiMarzio does it better.
X2N is way better in my opinion.
X2N wins
These are literally my 2 least favorite pickups lol
