The kids are finally catching up to the fact this band sounds EXACTLY like they do in concert as they do on an album. There aren't too many people or bands who can say the same. The Cure is pure and raw talent.
This, my friends, is the heart of Cure's music- dark, edgy and ethereal but at the same time romantic and pulls anyone in if given a chance. You can't quite pin it down if it is offering you a glimmer of hope or complete despair but it will surely take you on a journey like no other music. This is how music should be about but rarely anyone makes it for these reasons. The Cure's music is an honest expression and reflection of different aspects of life.
The Cure's original is better from a technical sense, is so deep and ethereal. Deftones did such a good ohmage to this at their Icon show. Blending the 2 bands, genres, eras together was beautiful.
Robert Smith is one of very few singers who’s voices seemed to age like fine wine, it’s almost unreal. This song is pure sex, Robert’s voice just transcends it to a whole other level.
God bless the Cure I saw then at Hollywood bowl 6 months ago and it was one of if not the best shows I have ever seen in my life and I've seen A LOT of shows!
@@kaydgaming it's not THAT poppy lol and even the pop songs still have a lot of artistic flair and have unconventional structures. Probably their most ambitious album imo, one of my favorites

Who can't love Robert Smith and the rest? Lyrics, voice, music..even separately, can send you to a most surreal state of serenity, or a night of deep melancholy in the darkest forest.
The Cure are one of the few groups that sound better live than the official recordings. A Forest live from 1992 is another amazing live that's not on Spotify 😢
From my Facebook wall: 35 years ago, the legendary British alternative rock band, The Cure, released the studio material called "Kiss me, kiss me, kiss me", which included this enigmatic melody. Whether you know the song, or have never heard it, I share with you my absolutely personal interpretation of its narrative. It seems that we are facing a Gothic elegy in which Robert Smith's guitar simulates the opening of a multidimensional door through which emerges a ghostly presence that dedicates a few words, in the form of lament, to another soul equally ethereal and, apparently, unattainable. At the end of the singing of this wandering spirit, the guitar closes the multidimensional door again while the keyboardist, evoking the sound of an ancient and mysterious flute, places on the door a seal in the form of a timeless spell. Many songs have a story to tell through the lyrics and instrumental sections in the melody and, sometimes very clear as this, also building an atmosphere conducive to give more solidity to the narrative. Millions of followers around the world love this phenomenal dark ballad, representative of the band's most refined and sublime gothic style.
Robert Smith is a genius and I love his newest music better than the older stuff as he has matured into a fantastic singer, songwriter and what a fabulous voice!!💙🎸🥰
If only tonight we could sleep In a bed made of flowers If only tonight we could fall In a deathless spell If only tonight we could slide Into deep black water And breathe And breathe Then an angel would come With burning eyes like stars And bury us deep In his velvet arms And the rain would cry As our faces slipped away And the rain would cry Don't let it end
If you're searching for a song that reflects life & death duality, this one does. The music, the lyrics, Robert Smith's voice... Everything is just perfect. Makes me think about the end of the world 🪽✨️

Unos whiskeys y a disfrutar. Canción mágica, extraña, relajante y sobre todo hermosa, tremendamente hermosa. Y este Robert Smith y sus The Cure tienen unas cuantas...
Exactly. :) Back then I made a tape with only this song on it, I had copied from my LP to put in my walkman. One of my ten favourite endless-loops before there were CD's. This is so magic.
Deftones did a great cover but the original with Robert Smiths excellent vocals is incomparable. The Cure is the best and Robert Smith’s a genius. I’m 45 now and still a Cure fan. 🙏❤️🤩🦹🏻♂️
This is an amazing live version of what Robert Smith wants us to see he dreams at night. Hands down the most unique and obscure of anything out there. Early Pink Floyd inspirations but without the loss of sanity.
Too many Deftones fans who arent familiar w the Cure Obvioysly Robert Smith is a huge influence on Chin0's vocal style And the Cure has a heavy stamp of influence on the entire Deftones sound So thank the Cure for that ❤
Everyone is entitled to an opinion and they all matter. The MTV cover deftones did.. did it properly. Chino was not messin around. He was nervous till he sang a note. This is a very haunting and beautiful song. One of my absolute favorites. It has all the quintessential Cure elements that make their music so unique.
The subtleness of this great song by an aged rock star's voice is so great to hear. I plan to listen to it in my final moments.
In my opinion this is the greatest song on the kiss me album.
I agree. I think much of the album was too poppy, even though they were good songs.
