Your method and tips worked well for me-thanks for taking the time to make the video.
To those criticizing someone went to the trouble to make an instructional video that anyone can watch for free (or not watch if you don't find it helpful): you do know, don't you, that you can (1) turn on subtitles so you can read as well as hear the presentation (2) pause and replay parts of the video that aren't clear to you at any time (3) play it at reduced speed if the pace is faster than you are comfortable with. Or you can just complain.

hi, I'm trying to transfer data from samsung s20 to motorola razr 40 ultra, but I have a problem, I don't see this first step, copy aps and data ( use your old device), I did a google account backup on the old device, and on the new one, I started from the settings menu but I just don't see this option...the new phone is already configured (I'm not starting it for the first time now). Should i reset my new phone to fabric settings and than start the procedure?
Hey, there! I switched from Huawei P30 Pro to Vivo X90 pro and I want to transfer my all photos and videos from my gallery old to new phone. But I also want to transfer them in order and even transfer proper folders that they were inside. If I do this exact steps, does that meand I get to transfer also folders and pictures in folder, or do I get only pictures gathered all in one folder?
Does anyone know where I can learn to merge the data from an old phone on to a new one without deleting or overwriting what's on the new phone? I'm going from a single sim phone to a dual sim and don't want to lose what I already have on the new phone.
I already setup my phone and used google to transfer stuff, but it didn't transfer my apps. can I do this and just select this after the face or do I have to start over. I changed carriers from old phone to new phone.
keep in mind that you need to be aware that BOTH devices have USB transfer mode ENABLED. I found out the hard way that my pixel 6 did not switch to file transfer mode when both cables were connected. I found that out in the middle of doing a RESTORE.

Hello I have a new phone and for the first time I still got my old one not being completly broken even tho I've used it for many years. But since so I have alot of stuff on my old phone and even tho I not use some of the Apps and other stuff I want to put it all on the new phone. BUT Im not sure if I can do that - is it possible to transfer just everything 1to1? Including apps, games + safefiles and also stuff that most likely isn't to be found in the app store or others anymore? Oh and even that this one isn't necessary I was wondering anyways - will it also transfer the browser history?

this worked very well, i did have some trouble initailly saying it couldnt copy but then I remembered the advice in the video to unplug/giggle the cables and it worked! You do have to be patient to let the apps load in and some will need to optimize themselves.Thanks.

One question: When transferring an app from old phone to the new phone, does it transfer everything (app itself included) from the old phone, or it actually connects to Google Play or whatever "App Store' over the internet to get/re-download the app? The reason I am asking this question is, I have Douyin (Mainland China version TikTok App) on my old phone, and this App is NOT available for download from outside mainland China (I am in Canada), so I wonder in this case if this app can be transferred directly from old phone to the new photo (instead of re-downloading and installing from the App's store/server from mainland China, which again in my case can not be done:). I would leave everything from "mainland" China in China! That place is worthless.

For some reason it didnt transfer any of the apps from the old phone. Waited two hours and they never appeared on the new phone, not even greyed out. I repeated the entire process a few times and sane result. All boxes were checked of what I wanted to transfer.

Hi. Google play needs vpn in Iran. So I got to get the vpn running first to be able to install any apps. Do you think this may interfere with this process?

@@uxorialcoyote7460 Nope. Such a transfer utility does not exist in Settings. That's why we're here in the first place. Don't forget we're talking about Android, not everyone has a Samsung with their private apps that might do this.

No you can't
Samsung content transfer or Verizon content transfer. You can also back up phone and restore information. A lot stays on Gmail like photos contacs u can back those up to Gmail if u havnt and when u login on new phone thry pop up.
the cable used is it the charging cable that comes with the phone. I have one that one end is a C connector and the other end is a normal USB so that means I need an USB to C adaptor. If not, then I need a special data transfer cable, right?

I'm going to switch from a Note 10+ to a Samsung s23 Ultra. I'm a little worries about losing information on my Whatsapp and Wechat accounts. When I copy from one phone to another. Does the old phone still have all the old info? Because I think I have to transfer Wechat and Whatsapp info separately.

there is this app mantis pro (key mapping for game controller). there is a one time life time pass that binds to account. i hear i have to transfer the app data to other phone for it to work. is this how you transfer app data?

Will I be signed in to all the gmail accounts on the old phone?
I unfortunately broke the screen of the old one and cannot remember the password to some old gmail accounts , I stupidly did not add recovery options on some accounts.
So right now I only managed to transfer photos by connecting my old phone to a pc.
I'd rather not reset the new phone again so if it doesn't transfer the accounts I won't bother.
the new Samsung A series will not work in that way. it will ask for Samsung Smart Switch app installed (and it can't be installed on old phones)
I already did this on my own, but it was only a partial transfer that timed out. And with an exploded battery you can't use the cord because the old phone only powers up while charging. I'm not going to factory reset my updated new phone
Why? U can just re-download the update.

If I take my sim card out of my older phone though then it's not going to work anymore .. I have two phones I just paid to have wifi in my home and I'm sitting here with a transfer that only did about half of my apps and 3 photos .. Smart switch did that

This didn't work for me but both my old and new phones were Samsung so I used the Smart Switch app instead and it looks like to worked the same way just in case someone else has the same issue.

I just bought a new android phone and would like open my google photos there. But here is 3 important things I would like to do:
- Create a new gmail, move the data from my current gmail to the new gmail
- Change my plan from the free 15gb plan to a more storage plan
- Change the back up settings from Storage Saver to Original Quality
My question is what are the order of these steps? considering I don't want to risk losing any data from my old phone.
Please help as this is a special complex case.

The new phone arrived with a new ship and the company asked to use the new ship because of new technology and blah blah blah.
Should I ignore the company and use the ship from the old cell in the new one and follow your procedures, or is there a way to do the transfer using the new ship in the new cell and old ship in the old cell.

I did acopy from a Samsung to a new Motorola. Did MOST things okay except for the "Samsung store" apps I use. Like Notebooks for example. I used wifi as I do not have a USB-C to USB-C cable. I will order one though for next time.

Didn't work . I connected both phones but no notice of connection. It says connect both phones even though they are connected. Old phone first then the new one. Answer "I don't have the right cord". Then it says go to your google app on your old phone > I did then it asks you if you want to transfer your data. You hit yes and it goes thru and bunch of questions. It did work but not the way you showed.

I didn't look into that much detail I would think it would be nested like the original.

ha. NEVER had anything transfer 100% of my shtuff. that samsung switch app is no joke. don't need to reuse the old sim. pop the new one in and accept the permissions to transfer all the data you want and presto. . . let it FULLY download AND organize the data. if you look before it's done, some stuff won't be there. patience.

I have a Samsung galaxy a12 ( old phone ) on that phone I have a 128gb micro sd card which most of my photos / videos are saved too . When I take a group of photos I save them in a folder and then rename that folder so it's easier to find. My new phone is a Samsung Galaxy a14 . I have tried to transfer the photos and videos to the new phone using Samsung Smart Switch but the folders in which I have the picts and videos saved to in the old phone dosent transfer over to the new phone in the same way . I have transfered over the sim / micro sd card to the new phone . The way they do transfer over to the new phone is , there saved into one folder with over 60.000 picts videos in that folder. How do I get them to transfer onto the new phone in the same way as I have them saved to the old phone . The software and settings are all up to date on both phones. Thanks very much . After I was done setting up my new pixel phone I noticed my home screen of my new pixel wasn't copied over from my old phone. Yes I used a cord from the old phone to the new phone
That is not the cable of the old device. That is a specific cable.

This is great. But what about moving over game prodress data to a new phone? Not all games use Google Play Game cloud save and for child accounts (Family Link) it's restricted to use Google Play Game full out.

You got us, I'm not sure how to do this exactly but in the past I've never had this issue. I had a motorphone and it's broke up. I don't really care for it. I just got a new Samsung phone I did the transfer but on the Samsung phone in the apps it shows a bunch of the Motorola ones so when I go on Google Play Store. When I click on one, it says it's not compatible with the Samsung phone. How do I delete all those cause? I've already deleted my account most of my Gmail accounts on my old phone I even did a reset on the old phone so there's nothing on it.I don't know if I have the sink I need to turn off in my Google account and then take those apps off and then even which apps you know, even Google apps, so up 2 of them now. I don't know, maybe someone could help me

@@jeangrandy8672 connect your charging cable to your laptop if it has a usb-c port. It automatically opens up a software and your phone would ask you if you want to share your photos and videos, if you click allow, you can select yes and then choose on the software itself.

Mine's the other way around. I tell Smart Switch I want my new phone to receive data from the old phone but it wants to send info from my new phone to the old phone. Rubbish!
