I loved how the simplicity of the place and the people match with the local motorsport, it looks like something that happens frequently in a small town. I wish it were like that in my town.
The only two places in the US where I've seen hillclimbs like this are Tail of the Dragon in the northeastern corner of Tennessee and of course, Pike's Peak in Colorado. There could be other "under-the-radar" unsanctioned events that happen on the west coast mountain ranges, but I know SCCA & NASA don't host any hillclimbs on the eastern US except for Tail of the Dragon, and it only happens once a year. Unfortunately, this type of motorsports remains very grassroots here in the US, with NASCAR arguably being the most popular form of auto racing. European and Japanese cultures have always emphasized cornering skills, so Formula 1, Spec-B, etc are more popular there. Racecars going around in circles for 400 laps is virtually unheard of elsewhere in the world. Even the US's form of traditional soapbox racing entails "drag racing" straight down hills. Look up on YT how they soapbox race in Ecuador; some of their soapbox machines could pass for miniature F1 cars.

I Gubbioni erano tutti accampati sulle montagne quel giorno. Si vede che ci tengono a questo gran premio della montagna. Ma i gubioni calavano da su delle alte vette?
Spero per lui che non intendesse spingere, perché effettivamente non mi pare sia andato un gran che bene. Nelle parti veloci va già un po' meglio, ma nei tratti lenti è costantemente con marce troppo alte e scala troppo presto prima dei curvoni.

Race tires are really sticky when warm. Pebbles can get stuck, puncture the tire get thrown into the rear tire. It’s just better that the tire is clean. The smallest thing can ruin your day.
