Chokes for the most part target the carotid artery to cut off blood flow to the brain. The submission that nate used to submit Conor was a RNC or Rear necked choke which is a blood flow choke not a air way choke when done correctly. However Nate forced his forearm into the adams apple of Conor making it a tracheal choke. Thats the case if connor taped from pain, but if you have done submission wrestling or jiu jitsu of any form you can feel when you are starting to black out. Unless you're conor you would never kNJ ow whether ir not it was from pain or the attempt to stay conscious.
