Sun Valley/ Christmas

Christmas is a Yan-Doppelmayr (Yoppelmayr high-speed quad. The lift serves terrain to skiers left on the frontside of Bald Mountain, which consists of green, blue, and black trails. Additionally, the lift serves as access to the rest of the frontside terrain on Bald mountain, as well as the Seattle Ridge, Lookout Lodge, and Warm Springs areas of the resort.
Christmas is a Yoppelmayr 4-person high-speed quad. It was retrofitted by Doppelmayr in 1996, along with 7 other detachable quads at the resort, during the same summer. The lift features Yan terminals, with Doppelmayr Spacejet style terminal skins, the top being the drive terminal. The lift uses Doppelmayr bullwheels, Yan Y shaped towers and Doppelmayr sheaves. The lift used to have Yan Teardrop chairs, however since the replacement of the Challenger and Greyhawk detachable quads back in summer 2023, Christmas now uses the Doppelmayr EJ chairs from those retired lifts. Christmas was installed in 1988, it has a capacity of 3,000 pph, a length of 4,170 feet and a vertical rise of 1,353 feet. The lift is a vital piece of Sun Valley’s lift system and I see it sticking around for another 5-6 years before its replacement.
