The green wires connected to the bottom of the control box are not ground wires they are bond wires. The ground wires should be connected to the ground bar inside the control box. Ground and bond wires are not the same.

Great video! Hard to find one that is this thorough. Two questions… I have a Superflo VST; does each speed setting need to be on a separate relay to use them? I have had a few pool electricians provide quotes and tell me that it only needs one relay. Second, who did you order the iAquaLink through? Can you share a link?

Thanks for the video! Very informative. I actually have the same setup you have with the old Hayward AQL-PS-4 Goldline Aqua Logic control panel and now researching what would be my best and most cost-effective option to upgrade my pool automation. My system has two separate pumps and two filters. I want to be able to control both pumps and my lights from my iphone and not have to go the side of the house each time to turn it on/off.
How do you like the iAqualink app? is it reliable?
I'm debating between Jandy and Hayward automation... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ever figure out what you wanted to do? I'm in the same boat, need to upgrade my Aqualink 2.0 which crapped out, not sure if I want to go with the 3.0 or find a 3rd party manufacturer to control the wireless portion (if that's even possible)

This is fantastic. Thank you for sharing. Turns out that these things are hard to find online. If you could share a link to an online retailer or wholesaler it would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work.

How many relays does this system support?

I have 220v coming from the house via a dual pole breaker to the box I am replacing. It's powering a single speed Pentair pump. Is there anyway to power the transformer with that?

Yes just grab one leg and other leg should be grounded from the main panel.

WOW read the instructions!!! Most Jandy products are not sold online. If they are purchased online they DO NOT HAVE A WARRANTY!

Not true. I had a warranty replacement and I purchased online via a certified pool store who are their valid suppliers. It depends where online you purchasing. eBay won’t be covered of course.

you should never, ever use another color for the 120v neutral, except for gray or white

Color is just to satisfy code requirements but electrically and technically it doesn’t matter so if you don’t have a choice you can use any color you like. Electricity is color blind :)

@@HowToDoitright as in all electrical code Per NEC, the colors are standardized for identification

@@handymanbrian8269 yes agree but again if you keep the color codes aside it will work regardless of color coding.

I agree but as long as you know the difference between 220v and 120v that's all that matters. However I would wrap some colored tape around the wire just in case someone else goes into service it just to avoid confusion. I don't assume anything I usually meters things before I begin regardless. Nice video. I have solid state relays connected to a PCB board so I was concerned if they would still fit in this new box. The RS8 rev QQ MB I have is from 2006 and looks pretty much the same but without the plastic ring. I ordered a new one so I could add a iQ3.0 wifi and the old boards chip-set is not compatible it needs to be REV QQQ and older. So this was helpful.@@HowToDoitright
