New mastery score is WORSE than you think...

- i literally haven't seen a single person saying they like the new mastery points design and/or animation. system can stay, but i would adjust it to 10k per level so 500k points = 50 level or something like that.

I'm a sett ain with 500k points and totally agree, the emote isnt even the largest issue. people want their points displayed. Looking at level 35 doesnt hit the same as seeing 500k points on your champ.

This update just kills all the veteran players who played to farm mastery 7 on multiple champs, as now you only get a "reward" (which is accumulating points) by playing the champion over and over rather than have a system which rewards its players when they play in a very skilled way understanding the role of the champions.
In my case for example, i had teemo on mastery 6 since 2019 with 100k mastery points, thus showing i'm not that good with him, while on the other hand had mastery 7 zac with 30k mastery points... idk imo the old system just made you understand which champs you actually played better, and felt good to use to compare and analyse.
Now you only can see how much you played, not how well or how skilled your performance was.
Unwanted, unnecessary and huge L in general update both practically and both visually, no need to renew something if it has worked for 5+ years especially if it was a very solid and acknowledged system among the players.
Please bring back old masteries
when i first heard the idea of changing them, i thought adding 3 more levels, and making it so that lvl 10 is really hard to achieve for example, but instead, we get this shit💀
Bring back old mastery points sure but don’t display them for everyone when you’re loading into a game
they wont do shit, one of the only times they reverted, or listened to the community was in the old rank system, where you would have one rank for each role. but that was a simple change, now since they wasted time/money doing that garbage paint style looking ass mastery, without even asking us a single thing, they wont revert it, unless they get a massive hate and get called out by streamers who support the shit out of this game

Bad things about the mastery system change:
1. The icons are infinately worse than the old ones
2. You can't easily see your points anymore
3. You don't use blue essence for upgrading so there is no use for it

i don't even care about the points, i just miss the badges. The old gold and blue ones looked like proper drip. Everytime you flashed them they meant something. These ones just look bland af.

Mastery emotes looks like cheap ass mobile league knockoff and ugly
Mastery emotes are not distinguish enough to seperate their levels. For example in old system mastery 5 was red, 6 was purple, 7 was blue and mastery emote had more wings every level. My solution is simple af: Make everything gold except the center jewel. Change colors like skin tiers. At Mastery 5 make the jewel gray (common), M6 green (uncommon), M7 blue (epic), M8 red (legendary), M9 purple (mythic), M10 orange (ultimate), M11 orange with orange flames around it and add numbers at bottom. That's it.
System is so f*cked that my mastery 7 Shen is now 9 but my mastery 6 Ezreal is now 10 wtf???????
Almost getting rid of mastery points are dumb. There are tons of problems in this game but they decided to change something no one complaining for. (AGAIN)
If you really wanna make everyone customize their profile then give them which champions they wanna show on their profile and give them option for show mastery levels, points or both on profile. Simple as that.
When I see so called "upgrades" like that seeing people defending "oh they are at least working on something" I'm losing braincells. Bro it's not like they are trying. They use so out of touch and beyond reality excuses like we can't bring back winter map cuz it's hard and expensive while 2 NORMAL players doing it in their home. (in their freetime) Vanguard is dumb. They do durability update then 2 patch after buff every dmg items and runes. They don't care about feedbacks even for skins. Look at Ashen Knight skins. People didn't like Pantheon, they said they heard players and did even worse with Sylas. They keep nerfing battlepasses. They said they wanna give more rewards to the players while removing grab bags, free hextech chests from missions and now weekly chests are gone. You can't say casuals don't give a damn about these updates because they don't buff or nerf for casuals don't they? Oh, someone from Iron 3 got 3 pentakill in 1 game with Master Yi, let's nerf Yi. Have you ever heard something like this from Riot? There is no way a normal human being look at them and say yeah there is nothing wrong with this company.

i would love that, but just old design, and upgrade it. there's a really good fan concept that implements new levels into old design!
All they needed to do is add a few more mastery level up to 10-15 and make it more difficult to reach up every time players level them up. Such a dumb update. Completely ruined it this time around

yea I want it to show points. I have lvl 42 Talon 470k. plus I don't think the upgrading it is working currently because I got the needed grade and nothing happened.
have you got B- or higher and 4 times C- or higher since the patch going live?

@JaredGetz yeahh, that might be bugged, the champions with rewards that appear at the top of collection tab was also bugged, me and another toplaner got all marksmans when it should he brusiers and tanks... they're slowly fixing the bugs
the mastery ones don't look that bad but still the mastery emote those times were so fun and you actually felt very rewarded when you used your level 7 mastery emote. its such a shame how they change the things we don't want them to change. they aint polishing the game they're just polishing shi.
I dont know how the system works, i know its now connected to getting hextech chests, but holy f^ck is it ugly. System can probably stay, the visuals have to go.
so the system is that you need certain amount of points as you were getting earlier, but to addition, instead of paying blue essence or tokens, you need certain amount of certain ratings (1 B- or higher AND 4 C- or higher). mastery points required are 11k from lvl 6 and on as i could notice.
flexing mastery in game makes no sound, hopefully just a bug. also it look really lame after killing someone and not having blue splash above my head...

tbh, imo, they might as well just add wildrift champ leaderboards.
As the name suggest, its a leaderboard for every champ.
You gain score if you win and lose if you lose. So its a leaderboard of score points.
Loading screen will also notify everyone if the champ ranks atleast top 200. (Theres a no. Top left of profile )
Imo high mastery is not much if someone cant reflect it in their games.
Casual players ( if they can notice), looking at the leaderboard points will make them notice whats good champ per role. Since an obvious & consistent(not just one trick) high score champ per player in the leaderboard means its meta.
that ranking would be cool, so we don't have to rely on third party websites and apps to calculate that. it will also be more clear when someone claims they are #1 on a champ if they are lying or not

@@yashy21 bc it can dictate how ppl act in-game. getting camped by the enemy jg or having 3 ppl try to gank your lane at lv 4 just bc they see your mastery score in loading is annoying af. now maybe its a good move on their part maybe its not but it still makes for an unfun gaming experience getting perma targeted

Tbh if I were to change anything, i'd make it so you can 'build your mastery emblem'
So like every mastery rank would give different wings, or centers, and maybe Eternals give something too to customise it further
So you can either; Use every piece from say, the mastery 35 set, or mix and match colours and shapes from each mastery rank
So you could have MR5 wings, with MR35 center, with a a green coloured gem.
Maybe even add different sheens, like every 5 mastery you get a new material for the mastery crest (wings and gem slot)
So MR 5 gives bronze material, MR 10 silver, MR 15 gold, etc.
Makes it super easily expandable, just add grander colours like red + black shiny material for example.
Also i'd make it so the fucking eternals sticks actually match the fucking colour of the gemstone, wtf is your problem riot why are they BLUE mate?
EDIT: and honestly, the infinite mastery shit sucks anyway, i'd rather MR10 and after that idk? 'prestige' numbers that arent actually mastery rank necessarily, basically just counting S ranks or something. so you know how many S- to S+ this player has had on their main, which is a better idea of mastery than like 'urrr im level 35 at getting average C games!'

I'm not agreed. It's just about being used to it; you are used to see mastery points but it makes way more sense to have a level displayed instead in my opinion. Imagine if instead of showing your account level, it was showing your total amount of xp gained :p We all gonna be used to it very soon, good design decision

i feel like for people who don't care about mastery levels and only want a raw representation of their dedication on a certain champion, seeing a fancy lvl 100 mastery score isn't as meaningful as their shiny 1 million points. sure the conversion's the same, but people just like to see the larger number, and currently there's no way to see that even out of game on your own profile...

I indeed hate the design, but I also hate the system sorry. It's just bad.
Before, when I was hitting an S, I was satisfied and happy because I knew I just got a token for a main. It felt good to play good.
Now, it's just grind. It got nothing to do with skill. Hitting C or B is basically just playing the game, and getting 1 A and 2 S- is not that hard. And if you get more S, it just don't nothing, no faster progression, no reward, nothing. You just played good to validate a C. And the fact that all the system work with the ranked segments...
Even for the Golden chest, the champions selected are completely random. For exemple I got Lux, Veigar, Taliyah, and Zoe, 4 champions that I absolutely NEVER play. Pantheon and Lillia which last time I played was like 2 years ago. That's already 6 champions out of 10 that I don't currently play (With 4 of them I just never played at all).
It's just a bad grinding that feels bad, with a bad reward since the design are just trash af! Before all this sht, I was so happy about some champs I passed mastery 7, so proud. Here there is no achievement, you just play and you get it.

i recently realised that after those like 4 checkpoints that give you in total 3 mastery levels, you need 14 S ranks for each new level that split 💀💀💀

@@yashy21 i also like it. the rewards are a step up. up until mastery 4 i like it, wish they kept the previous design and just expanded upon it, although i dont mind the new one. i dont like how you cant see how many mastery points someone has on their profile anymore, though.
