I hope you can find something similar where you are. Another floral pick that works really well for this same concept is babies breathe and they sell that everywhere.
Those looked very real. I have to be honest, I had no idea there was a floral tape that comes in different colors. I thought you painted the trunks. WOW, do I feel like a moron in a mudhole now. I am thrilled you showed us how to make these trees and bushes. That golden bush was totally amazing. Thank you for the lesson for dingbats, and old geezers like me.
😂🤣😂. You are so funny and you are very welcome. You weren’t completely off, I do paint some of my trees, but to make simple trees like this, I just use floral tape. It is only a few dollars at Michaels, joanns, Walmart or any other craft store.
@@MiriamsManner I just ordered some brown floral tape, but I got it off of Amazon. I think it was seven bucks for 4 small rolls. See, you can teach an old dog new tricks. I also was looking around at Michael's online to see what they had. I need a million dollars to buy all the things I want. lol. I wish. Lastly, Notre Dame did good yesterday. I'm sure your husband will agree. Take care.
😂😄😂. I feel the same way sometimes, there is always something to get. I wasn’t able to see the game but I k is my hubby did. I’m glad to know they did well.
That was a great tutorial!! I’m definitely going to add those to my village this year!!! Thanks Miriam, you make it look so easy I think I’ll be able to do it!!! Thanks and god bless you!! ❤️👍🏻👏🏻
Great idea Miriam. It looks so good and adds alot of interest as you said. I love your videos. I have learned alot from you and appreciate it so much. I know my village is going to look even better this year...thanks to you.
Hi Miriam, Love this little turorial. Wait until you see all the faux flowers, picks, bushes and stems I have in my village. Your videos have really inspired me to go full "flower child". Hahahaha! And you know how I get when I'm creatively inspired. Before I hit Michaels, I'm going to see what kind of sale Joann's is offering tomorrow when I go to work. I mean I do get a 30% discount, even on sale items. I might be shopping while working, which is typical for me. I have to tell you I've made great progress on my village these past two days. The mantle area is complete, and another small area on a nearby bookcase is also done. Today was a lot of prepwork. I was laying stryofoam, cutting stryofoam and using wooden skewers to join together pieces of styrofoam. This is all a first for me, but it will make all my floral additions a breeze to display. There's still so much more to do but I'm so pleased with what's been accomplished. Wishing all the best to you and yours. Remember to keep pacing yourself. I'm keeping my eye on you.
I can’t wait to see it. I remember when you bought a bunch of picks the end of last Christmas season too for this year. You will be fully stocked. 🤣🤣. That definitely makes sense to see what Joanns has since you get a greater discount. I need to get to joanns for tassels. That is fantastic you have accomplished so much with your village. I finally feel like I have hit a groove with the front level of my village all complete now. I need to complete 5 more sections of my Villegas before I am done. 🤣😂🤣. I am trying to pace myself. My children are home for fall break so I haven’t done as much since they are home. When they go back the end of this week, I will speed things along a little more.
Hi, Miriam! Great tutorial as usual. I love them all. No Michael's here in Brazil but I have just made lovely maple, oak and aspen trees for my village. I made them the hard way by cutting each individual leaf out of real dried leaves. May I have your e-mail so that I can send you some photos? I saw it in one of your tutorials but I can't find it. I also want to show you how my tunnel is beginning to take shape. Thanks so much. Hugs from Rio.
Love this tutorial Miriam. I all excited this year about setting up my village. Last year I did a very little one for the first time. This year I bought many Lemax pieces soo I am planning to go all out. I've already started making mountains etc..... I do have a question. How do you calculate how many space you need based on the amount of buildings etc... I bought quite a few and I made a list soo I can seperate them by category. BUT.... I have no idea how many space I'll be needing for that amount of pieces.
That is a great question. I actually never use every single building I own. I design my layout first and then choose which buildings I want to use for that years layout. If you are seeking to use your whole collection, then start laying them out on the table you will be using to get a feel for space. (If you don’t have tables set up yet, tape off the space on the floor to use as your guide.). If you have too many buildings for your space, remember to use levels which allows more buildings in the same space.
OMG Why don't we have a Michael's in the Caribbean?? I am soo jealous 😀 Anyone here has an online store or a Paypal account that doesn't mind purchasing me a few of these on sale and mail them to me? I do have Paypal and also a Florida mailing address so that would be easy. 🙏
@@MiriamsManner OMG that would be fantastic. Imagine I went to 2 stores here today and did not find any😏 If you can I would like 2 of the red and 1 of yellow, cream and purple. A total of 5 would be great. I love the red. Whatever color is not available you can always substitute for a next color. I am not that picky😬. Thankyou very much. Have a blessed week!!
Brilliant! And they look so real in the village😊💕💋
Thanks. I love the way they turned out and that they are so affordable! 😀
I only recently found you and love all your tips. These trees are a game changer!!!
