Miriam God bless your wonderful and I enjoy you so much. Your love and smile make my day so happy. Your villages are so beautiful that I wish to be living there.
Good Morning Miriam, I just found this video I am not sure when you did it. I just loved watching you hide the electrical cords it made so much sense. I have to say I had a huge smile on my face when you forgot a step and then you couldn't find your fence, that is the kind of thing that happens to me often. It is nice to find other villagers that run into problems even with their best laid plans. Thank you for showing us that you are real. Absolutely loved the video. Thanks Again. Hi Miriam, Looks like your uncertainty with your layout has been overcome. What a beautiful town square. It's sure to be one of many points of interest in your village this year. The way you hid your cords my creating tiny trenches was inspiring. So simple yet so effective. This is the first year I'm using a large piece of styrofoam in my village, so I will have to keep that in mind. Generally just lots of snow or even well placed scraps of fabric helped to cover cords in the past. My village is coming together in bits and pieces. Tiny flashes of creative ideas will pop into my mind. Then it's a process of taking said idea and making it a reality. I keep telling myself I'm starting way earlier than I ever have before and yet I still feel so far behind. Slow and steady will win this race, I know. Instead of taking a week long vacation, I'm taking off every Friday in October. Since Saturdays are my only day off, that will give me five 2-day weekends. Yesterday was my since Friday off. While I didn't work on my village, I did get a few other things done. Just having that day off was so nice AND I have another day off today. Oh yes! Thank you again for doing these videos. I know it's so much extra work for you to record and share your entire process, but It's already helped so many, myself included. You're taking one of your God-given gifts of creatitivy and are sharing/blessing others with it. That is a beautiful thing. Certainly not unexpected from such a beautiful soul as yourself. Wishing all the best to you and your family. Looking forward to your next video and live stream.

Now, I just have to execute everything. 😃😂. I’m so glad you have 2 days off in a row, that is good for your village but your mind and body as well. I find when I am well rested, all my creative juices start flowing better. Thank you so much for taking the time to write me such beautiful words, they have made my souls happy. I am thankful to share my gift and that it is actually appreciated. You guys are a blessing to me. Please tell Mom I said hello and God bless you both! Talk soon! 😃
@@MiriamsManner do you sell any of the tools and the platforms on your Etsy page? I live in Hawaii and we don’t have Michael’s or too many good stores that sell styrofoam that large. I’ve been doing Christmas villages for 30 years and it grows each year. Your platforms inspired me.
Love, love that town square! I would love to add a fountain to my village too. Great idea. Just so exciting to see it coming together. You're so creative and talented. Thanks for sharing ☺️
I. LOVE that printed cobblestone ! It's awesome. It's all in the details. I set up my houses first then put in the lights. My board is like swiss cheese. So I can change it around every year. Of Course you can add hole where ever you like and it will not change the integrity of the board. Thanks for sharing. PS I have like all your videos I have watched so far.. They are all outstanding. Thanks againg.
Absolutely beautiful!!! I'm so excited to start my first village this year especially for my first and only Grandson. Hope to build lots of wonderful Christmas memories that he'll treasure. Thanks for all your help
You are an absolute treasure for making these videos. I'm finally going to do something with my Dickens Village (other than set the houses on a shelf) this year, and your videos have already been a big help. Thank you!
WOW! To say I'm impressed with your village, starting with your set-up of "props, " etc., (and I JUST stumbled across your videos about an hour ago here in Texas)! You make it look so easy! Even my dad was telling me this year as we were looking at my village at how neat it would be to really make it like a village. So we started a Pinterest board for ideas! I started my village (Department 56 Original Snow Village) back in early 1990's -- and I only have 23 buildings -- mainly due to 1) storage; 2) boring set up...all just basically FLAT; and 3) no really good place to create a REALLY good set-up. HOWEVER, watching your videos (I've only watched two so far), I'm thinking next year could POSSIBLY be the best yet -- FOR MINE anyway. This year was first year in about 2 or 3 that I put the buildings out...but I didn't put any of my accessories out...just ran out of time. I am looking forward to watching the rest of the complete set up...and I'm taking notes!!!! May have questions later.
Hey Melanie, welcome to my channel. I have over 100 Christmas village tutorials and videos. Please let me know if you have any questions as you watch. 😁
Hi Miriam! Just checking in! 🤗 I can't believe how fast we are approaching the Holiday season already! I'm always so inspired by your Christmas village videos! My sister and I didn't grow up on creating Christmas villages for Christmas, but now that I have brand new twins (a niece and a nephew) in my family, I want to start this tradition with them! I know that they will love it, because they are already attracted to anything that's colorful or lights up! LOL
Hey Nikita, It’s good to hear from you. Yes, the season is quickly approaching. That is so sweet to do that for your niece and nephew. I know they are a blessing to your family. 😃
This is great to build as a section big enough go into the attic space to store for next year then assemble together with other parts. Would be great if Lamax sold complete sections made by professional modellers with a mixture of scenes and mountains
I agree, that’s why I started making bases to sell several years ago. I sell on Etsy and the link to my page is in the description box of this video. I also make custom pieces. I have replicated several pieces I have made for in my village for others.
Beautiful as always Miriam. Holidays must be very special at your house. I know I could sit there and just take all that in. It just makes my heart happy. Thank you for being such a great teacher. Bless you and your family
Thanks so much Debbi! 😀. I like to think Christmas is very special in my house. I plan Christmas activities with the kids almost daily, even if it’s just taking a walk to look at Christmas lights. My children and I truly enjoy the season and everything that comes along with it. God bless you and yours! 😀
Absolutely beautiful..you are so talented and creative..so happy to be able to watch your entire village come together and alive! Thank you so much for sharing it with us...it's already amazing!!
I loved your Lemax Christmas tree. I just bought one and have not tested it yet. I can't wait. I hate to be so repetitive, but this was an awesome and helpful video. The way you hide the cords is so intelligent. Ya know one thing I do not like about Lemax? Is how high the light socket thing is on the back of the village houses. I think Dept 56 has them beat there since their's is much lower. Makes it easier to hide the cords. When you added the trees, and decor, the village lit up and came to life. The night version was so cool. Okay, I'll stop here. What a fantastic village you are creating.
Aw, thanks so much, I really appreciate that. I do agree with you there. Most of the Dept 56 buildings I have, the light hole is at the bottom of the building which makes it wonderful for non visible cords. The only down side to that is the taller buildings look more dim at the top. You are going to Love your Lemax tree. I feel like the video still didn’t do it justice, it is more beautiful in person. Take care and talk soon! 😃
I am so happy I found your Chanel. I started doing my village like 25 years ago. I have different brands, and enjoy setting up the village every year. I have 3 categories in my village, the city!
Hello Nancy, I’m glad you found me too! I LOVE villaging. Wow, 25 years is a long time, I just started 5 years ago but I quickly got hooked. 😂🤣. Will you be submitting. This year for the contest?
True ( funny) story i’m trying to squeeze in a lot of buildings in my town Square and I am scouring Pinterest and I come across yours pic only I don’t read that it’s yours so I’m like oh dang that’s exactly what I want and it’s got a video awesome I’ll watch it…. I click on it LOL I should have known hahaha no wonder I liked it so much ❤
You are the only channel that I have ever subscribed to. I just love your village but now to see you put it together. I have learned so much. I can't wait to do my village but I have 5 cats so I can't leave it up as long as I used to. Thank you for sharing all this information.
WOW!! That is quite a compliment. Thank you so much for subscribing and joining our group, I feel so honored. I’m glad the videos have helped you, I love to hear that. I actually will be bringing that topic up on the next live stream. I just received a question yesterday on how to protect the village from cats. I offered up acrylic cover in the front and sides as well as tall Christmas trees on the sides of the village. I’m going to ask our group to see what suggestions they may have. Lots of people in our group have cats so I know they will have creative solutions.
So exciting, I am flabbergasted! I wanna be small so I can roam around the village. I so love every bit and piece of it. Thank you Miss Miriam (already subscribing!
Hello Mary Jane, thank you so very much! That is the best compliment I can get regarding my village. If it looks good enough that you want to be in it! 😁. Thanks so subscribing and welcome to our group. 😉

I have learned so much from your tips and ideas. I have also a small fisherman village with a lighthouse. I let people find different things in the village as a game. Thank you again for your ideas. Beautiful everything you do😊👌
I always love a beautiful countryside in a village. I won’t have much countryside in my village this year so I can enjoy yours if you submit! 😃. Fisherman’s village sounds awesome!! I have done a lake with a few fishers but I haven’t done a warf yet. Maybe that will be something for next year. 😃
Love the look of your village and giving me ideas I am working on some trees and I want to go through my floors to see what I can find in there I can use for treason and bushes thanks love it
Hi Maria, that’s awesome. I’m glad you are getting closer to starting. I am releasing step 3 tomorrow so hopefully that will give you more inspiration to start. 😃

Hello Ismael, thank you so much! The purple trees were a floral stem from Amazon and the yellow trees are a floral pick I bought at Michaels a few years ago. I’m not sure if they are still for sale but you can visit your nearest Michaels or hobby lobby and pick out floral stems that you can use as trees. They not only add interest and color to your village, it is often times cheaper because you can get several trees from one floral pick.
Thank you so much Samuel. The purple trees are from Amazon. The green ones next to the firehouse and police station are greenery stems from hobby lobby. The gold ones were from Michael’s. The evergreens are Lemax and Walmart.

I am planning to really expand my Snow Village this year, due in large part to inspiration from you! How did you decide how big your layout would be and where the holes for your cords would go?

Amazing!! Watching your videos brings me so much joy ☺️ Do you have any insight on how to set up in a way that’s safe with cats (if that’s possible)? Usually I keep everything in cabinets at all times, but I want the village to be visible.
Thank you Naomi! The only things I can think of would require work and a little money. You could put up plexi-glass or acrylic on the front and sides. You could also use tall slender pencil trees on the sides of your village as a barrier. I can ask our group on the next live stream. I’m sure others have had to cat proof their villages. If I think of anything else, I will let you know.
@@naomicupcakes8102 In my village nothing is accesible for my cats (and I've 3 of them). I make sure that everything is covered so they can't reach it to jump on. Trees and not enough landing area make sense.
@@judithvankampen9360 that does make sense. What do you mean by everything is covered? My thoughts are to generally completely cover the surface of the platform I’m using with decorations, and have different heights and textures going on so that there is not much flat surface for the cats to walk or sit on. My biggest issue that since my apartment is really small, the only space I have is right next to the cat tree, so they’d be able to reach out and knock stuff over if they wanted to.

Hello Eveline, I’m so happy to hear you are starting your village. I built all of my bases. If you watch the other videos on my channel, I have step by step tutorials on how to build a base. Happy villaging! 😀
Going to setup my first village this year. Do you reuse the same styrofoam base every year? And since you glue things down how do you remove the styrofoam on the bottom or clean it?
Awesome! I do RE-use the same base every year. I use my fingernail or a blade to remove the styrofoam from the bottom of the figurines. I don’t glue down all of them, only the ones that would be hard to reach once the village is set up.
@@MiriamsManner yay great thank you for the info! My village is a mix of lemax pieces and hallmark and other stores. So it won’t be as cohesive as yours lol 😂
Lemax: police dept, Hartford falls town hall, 2021 firehouse, good morning joe coffee and donut, coffee bean grinder, 2004 Diana’s breads and pastries. Dept 56: white swan catering service, the haberdashery, music emporium
Hi Miriam, beautiful videos ! Question, does the hot glue provide a semipermanent attachment ? Or, does it destroy what you affix it to? In one video you said your bases would soon be selling on Etsy. I don’t see them there yet. Will they be available soon ?
Hey Nettie, The hot glue is a semi-permanent hold, that’s why I love using it. It doesn’t damage anything, all you have to do is take a blade and carefully peel off the bead of glue. I have two pieces completed to sell, I just haven’t posted them yet. I better get on that! 😀
@@MiriamsManner Thank you so much. Can you notify me when and where they are posted ? I have been a Christmas Village hobbyist for years. I had a lot of pieces, but lost about half of them to a flood. I have been resurrecting and adding to my village for the last two years. I feel as if your videos are elevating me to an entirely new level. I am excited to see, with about the same amount of effort, i can make it look a lot better. Thank you again, and your children are adorable ! Nettie
Hey Nettie, Thank you so much, I think they are super cute too! More than that, they are amazing children. I am blessed to be their mom. I just posted one piece today on my Etsy page. I couldn’t even begin to put a price tag on all of this. I have never kept track. I know I have several thousand dollars worth of buildings alone. That doesn’t include any accessories.
Hi Miriam! How do you remove the hot glue from your accessories each year? I'm not that familiar with using a hot glue gun and wasn't sure how to properly clean them after use each year. Thanks for your guidance and another great video :)

Thanks Martha, I loved that town square.
You are an absolute treasure for making these videos. I'm finally going to do something with my Dickens Village (other than set the houses on a shelf) this year, and your videos have already been a big help. Thank you!
I’m so glad, thanks so much!
LOL
Hey Nikita,
It’s good to hear from you. Yes, the season is quickly approaching. That is so sweet to do that for your niece and nephew. I know they are a blessing to your family. 😃
Thank you for your videos. I am building my first christmas village with your guides and tips. God bless! 😘
Aw, how sweet! 😃. God bless you too!
I love all your videos! Last year I learned from your videos how to set up Christmas village. Of course mine very simple, You are so great! ❤️
Thank you so much!!
Thank you Michele, that is so sweet of you. I’m glad you are enjoying the series. 😃
Hello Nancy,
I’m glad you found me too!

Oh so many brilliant ideas that I will rob - many thanks

I always love a beautiful countryside in a village. I won’t have much countryside in my village this year so I can enjoy yours if you submit! 😃. Fisherman’s village sounds awesome!! I have done a lake with a few fishers but I haven’t done a warf yet. Maybe that will be something for next year. 😃

Where can I get a fountain from please?
The fountain is Lemax and you can purchase from ehobbytools.com. I’m not sure if Michaels still has this one or not.
This is awsome! Where can i get the yellow and pink trees? Thanks for sharing!
I love it.. looks so amazing. Where did you bought those trees or the products u used to make them? They make the scenery come so alive.

Hello Shelby,
I design a new village every year so my holes change every year as well. Once I know a general layout for my buildings, I mark the styrofoam so I know where to add new holes if needed.

Hi! What type of staples did you use? That was such a great idea!
Thanks so much. My hubby actually buys the staples and loads the staple gun for me. I will have to ask him and get back with you. 😃
@@MiriamsManner oh, so those staples you used to hold the cord down in place are from a staple gun? I saw you placed them with your hand and didn’t use a gun. Sorry I should have asked more specific. They look like big “U’s”
For us newbies… I note you hot glue your fences. How do you get these off when you pack up. Are they glued forever, or does the glue come off easily?
Hello, great question! The hot glue is not permanent at all. It remove whatever item I have hit glued from the styrofoam and then begin moving the bead of glue. Most of them, I am able to remove with my finger nail. For the more stubborn things that I have added a lot of glue to, I use a straight razor and it comes right off. 😃

The backdrop is from Amazon and the link to it is in the description box of that video.

Amazing!! Watching your videos brings me so much joy ☺️
Do you have any insight on how to set up in a way that’s safe with cats (if that’s possible)? Usually I keep everything in cabinets at all times, but I want the village to be visible.
Thank you Naomi! The only things I can think of would require work and a little money. You could put up plexi-glass or acrylic on the front and sides. You could also use tall slender pencil trees on the sides of your village as a barrier.
I can ask our group on the next live stream. I’m sure others have had to cat proof their villages. If I think of anything else, I will let you know.
@@MiriamsManner oooh I love the idea of tall trees on the sides. Thank you!
You are welcome!
Hi Miriame, I am an absolute beginner, working on a chest of drawers due to lack of space, I have a space of 60cm deep by 2.10cm long! Now I want to take it up a notch, be able to create more! Now I wanted to ask you how did you get this platform to be unable to find it anywhere? I'm so happy with your video that it will watch and do as you explain for now.

Do you have dimensions for the town center stand that has the town hall, police station and firehouse on it?
Hi Miriam, beautiful videos ! Question, does the hot glue provide a semipermanent attachment ? Or, does it destroy what you affix it to? In one video you said your bases would soon be selling on Etsy. I don’t see them there yet. Will they be available soon ?
Hey Nettie,
The hot glue is a semi-permanent hold, that’s why I love using it.
