- I Call Your Name! A song recorded by the Beatles, written by the Great Lennon/McCartney in 1963. Apparently it was mostly written by John Lennon, with some assistance by Paul McCartney. I'm sort of trying to model the Mamma's & Pappas version, in particular Cass Elliot's vocal stylings....ahhh, but I didn't quite get there! Anyway, try try again, and I will! But meanwhile, I hope you'll enjoy my first attempt at this 1960s pop classic!

Last week I watched (for the first time) film footage of The Mamas and Papas closing out the Monterrey Pop Festival back in the day. They played this tune. Good times!
I tried ('tried' being the operative word) sort of modelling my version on the Mamas & Papas version. Didn't quite get there, but will try again! Cass Elliot's voice was just so gorgeous! A real powerhouse, very sad that she only made it to 32 years old. Hope all is well Chris, take good care! ♥🎵🎶

Thanks very much Kieran! I'm sort of following the Mamas & Papas' version of this song, right down to the key. It's a first attempt, I'll try it again somewhere down the line! As for the uke, it's my back up! My main uke busted on me, after one too many days busking in the cold. I bought a new uke, but it's taking a while to break it in. @@DukeofUke61 she was actually quite in love with Denny Doherty, and he loved her too, but not in a romantic way. John was so cruel to Cass, and Michelle and Denny ended up having an affair. So...Cass was hurt many times over in that band. I'm really glad she found success on her own...such a powerhouse singer!
