    I have been looking at putting a teepee in the woods on my farm. I would watch as may videos as you want to make on the subject. Thanks again

    Nice setup. Would a regular canvas prospector tent be more of a permanent camp than the tipi? Also what size is your tipi?

      That one is 14’, I have a 10’ also that I was in earlier that year.
      Personally I think a tipi is better. The heat spreads better inside and the round shape works better with the wind.

      I have a 14’ Nomadics. I forget which style it is but it’s the kind that sits back a bit as opposed to being the same angle all the way around.

    Does your tipi have an ozan ? They help hold the heat down...

    • @OverOnTheWildSide
      @OverOnTheWildSide  Рік тому +1

      I have one but I didn’t set it up. I would’ve had to switch to a woodstove, which I still want to try. Even though I’ve moved out of it it’s still set up and I want to experiment with it.

      @@harryanderson6691 because they burn slower? They also send a ton of the heat out the stove pipe. I’m torn on them…

      Yeah that’s something I should try out. Even if I just ten 8 or so, that’d be enough to get a warm start. On the other hand I was sleeping in there at 5f and was fine.

    A Friend of mine in CA has a tipi that he used to set up for camp-outs. I believe that it was the same size as yours, maybe a bit taller. Without assistance, he claimed that it took him a couple hours to set up. I would've loved to have tried it out, but it didn't happen. I love how You've organized yours! Wintering in a tipi would be interesting...!

    • @OverOnTheWildSide
      @OverOnTheWildSide  Рік тому +2

      I recommend trying one out. It would’ve been fun to spend the winter, in retrospect I’m seeing how I could’ve put my wood stove in and probably avoided a lot of smoke.

    Cool man, that’s a nice set up, even when camping I never liked the idea of a reflecting wall unless there’s wind, I just wrap up in blankets, you’re basically hot tenting ,I know you showed the liner but if you were to build a bigger tp around that one it would be double or triple pane walls, a tp inside a tp lol

    • @OverOnTheWildSide
      @OverOnTheWildSide  Рік тому +1

      Haha! I do have a bigger tipi, that’d be hilarious and very warm! 😂

      @outdoorvideoswithbrad Рік тому

      @@OverOnTheWildSide I kinda thought I remembered you having a bigger one lol, I saw that on a tv show along time ago but these people build a house within a house so it was like a greenhouse effect and they didn’t have a heat bill

    • @OverOnTheWildSide
      @OverOnTheWildSide  Рік тому +1

      I’ve seen the greenhouse idea. I wanted to do it but then I went the route of adapting to the cold instead.
