That’s interesting about the label change. I’ll have to go to my local Walmart and see if they have any new tools in there without the red label on them.
They make a 12 volt 6ah battery now. I wonder how much that would improve the performance. Thanks for the video...i have the older version and its been great with the bigger 4ah battery. Havent tried the 6ah yet.
I noticed the gen 2 I purchased had some minor wear on the anvil, since opening I've only used impact sockets and I can recommend the tool for lugs and tight spaces, something nice to have around just expect it to work a little bit worse than the gen 1 stubby.
Thanks for this video. I am having the stopping issue with my gen 2 compact 20v (model number 80046) using the 2ah battery at 3/4 charge. It won't even break loose a bolt that is tightened down to 90 ft lbs. Maybe I got a dud? It is rated for 350 ft lbs breakaway torque so I am disappointed to say the least. Can you do a review on the 20v model?
hell no. The value for these set as a standalone tool is what makes it worth it. Otherwise, might as well stick with the bigger guys if youre collecting tools.
@@pegleggreg3627if you use that brain and they did sell them alone for much cheaper would be better deal if you alreayd own a lot of battery and chargers
@@pegleggreg3627 agreed I just picked up the HT impact but Walmart should bundle it with a better battery the 2.0 amp they bundle with a 1/2 impact is insufficient just like the 1.5 they pair with their grinder and sawsall
I'm a Drummer, and have several sets, I can never get enough drum sets. I have a mild addiction to power and hand tools as well.....DIY to save, then I can buy another Drum set Ha Ha
Now Hyper Tough has updated them and are the "Black Label" (no red+white logo). Saw a torque test on a different channel and it got my attention now!

Black label with white letters on gen 2 20v tools. 12v still red & white
Anxiously waiting the teardown comparison of the two. Enjoying your opinion and your analysis of the tools. Keep the vids coming!
Thank you appreciate it!!!
Those are honestly serious tools, no idea how long they will last. The new ones without the red on the sides are even more powerful.
Hoping it’s the battery since I bought one of these 2 months ago and it’s great for having in the car when needed. Can’t wait for the teardown vid!
The ramp up is good. Especially when installing lugnuts.
right. keeps you from cross threading
1/2 inch rated 350ft. lbs, been looking to get one....good video

The power mode buttons are game changers, even milwaukee can't touch that.

Test the new hyper tough brushless impact driver
Will do
theres a new driver aswell???
@airingtonjesse6691 yes
Only issue i have with it is it is the trigger engagement starts at a higher rpm then you can back it down other than that it's great

i will try with the 2ah and make a video if needed thank you for letting me know
Get the 4 Amp battery and the problem will be solved. Mine did the same thing
What brand of impact socket were you using for the test?
3/8” capri amzn.to/3UMjvOG and the 1/2” amzn.to/4ekiqEJ generic amazon
Walmart really needs to offer these as bare tools. Nobody wants to be stuck with a bunch of useless plug-in chargers.
