I just purchased one of the extended shaft ratchets from wmart and I honestly have to say I am extremly surprised. No regrets what ever. No more dragging the leaking air hose around and the air ratchet screaming in your ears. $ 60.00 deal. Batteries $ 17-18.00. Battery life is amazing for 12volt. Li-ion type also.
Cordless ratchet is an absolute must. Mexican dude on UA-cam went off about how good they are and I copped one and never looked back. Amazing. Can break manually and then spin off. Most annoying part is at the end where it is still threaded but too loose for the ratchet mechanism. electric solves that
I just had to warranty my Milwaukee 3/8’s ratchet out and while it is gone since the matco man said it would take upwards of 3 weeks to send out and come back I bought the short hyper tough 3/8’s ratchet I’m gonna start testing it today and since I am the only person I know to have broken a Milwaukee ratchet we will see if my hyper tough breaks cause I’m gonna use it everyday until it breaks and keep my Milwaukee new cause I don’t want to mess it up again cause the high speed aspect of it helps out alot more than you think it does sometimes but again this hyper tough really isn’t that much slower than the Milwaukee so I will keep everyone who sees this comment updated within the week as long as this comment does get a couple likes atleast
Great vid and information. I did a timing belt and water pump replacement on my Tundra. And this tool saved me so much time with all the nuts and bolt removal. If you don't have one yet guys, get one.
I got the 1/2 inch impact, the 3/8 impact, and both of the ratchets in this video plus the 4ah battery instead of the 2ah they come with witch is an absolute must have!! It's like 25 bucks for the battery upgrade and I have them all in a bag with a socket set that I use whenever I go to a wrecking yard or on a job that is on the side of the road or at someone's house. I have everything I need in one spot and if somthing gets left behind, because that does happen sometimes, it's not devastating like if it was Snap-on product and price! All the power tools were just over 300 bucks with the upgraded batteries and the bag! That literally is the same price as two Snap-on hand ratchets!! Even if you buy new ones every two years when the warranty is up that is still absolutely worth it for what you get for the price. Oh ya one last thing the chargers are not those massive blocks that take up a huge area on top of your box or shelf, they are way smaller and I keep them in my truck with a tinny inverter and i always have a charged battery ready to go no matter where I am at. That is my favorite part really! If not sure if you want to buy any of these, do yourself a favor and go and get them.
I just got the extended ratchet and haven't used yet. Need to change the head gasket on the gen 3 Prius, so thinking will save time. Found prior when researching the batteries, that the Hyper Tough batteries work in the Craftsman Nextec 12V tools. I also did test to see fitment and functionality to confirm and is true. Appears can swap between the two maybe, though will have to carve some plastic to get the Craftsman batteries into the Hyper Tough tool. The warranty sold me, along with the price.
I have the Milwaukee M12 ratchet but want a long reach for rare situations and these seem to be fine if they aren't dropped. But if they are free replacement for 2 years seems like a great deal.
I was at Walmart today and saw that they released some new tools. They have a 3” cutoff tool, 3/8 impact, reciprocating saw, and an oscillating multi tool. Would love to see you test the 3/8 impact. Thanks for your videos!
Thanks for the video. I'm just an occasional weekend DIYer and Milwaukee fanboy but times are tough and I need a value option. Going to pick up the long reach to compliment my m12 electric ratchet. Seems like it will work well enough for me.
good to know, been using my HT drill and HT impact 1/4 inch for this kind of stuff also hand tools I do mostly small engine stuff as a hobby and some auto repairs on my own cars. I have been thinking about the cordless ratchet some
best thing about these is when someone borrows it and it is never returned or it comes back broken they didn't cost you an arm and a leg, cheap as chips, recently tested one of these against a $350 Ryobi this came out better on loosening rusted bolts, hard to believe but it beat the expensive one,
Curious who makes those ratchets…they look a lot like the Harbor Freight earthquake xt ratchets , love to see how the DIY stuff holds up in the heavy duty shops
I wanted 1/4” anvil ratchet but HY don’t offer it as of June 2024. Well I got at $15-$19 Harbor Frieght Central Pneumatic 1/4” air ratchet and swapped out the anvil drive portion of the head and now I have 1/4” and 3/8 Hyper Tough 12v ratchets. The HF air ratchets are now 3/8” drive. 🤓🔥
I hate when people say torque is low on them. They are meant for you to break the nut then use it to run it off. How do they hold up breaking the nuts? Does the plastic flex?
I have the extended reach and its ok. Not much breaking power but great to run those bolts out after its broken. I used it like a hand ratchet to break then ran them out. I just upgraded to the 20v dewalt ratchet. They are on sale now at home Depot. Buy the ratchet + battery for 200. Return the battery and you get the ratchet for 110.
@@EzTechJoe definitely bulky but couldn't pass it up for the price. I'm sure the next generation will be better. I also wanted to stick with DeWalt b/c I already have the batteries. I grabbed that mid torque after seeing the video you did w/fluffy and checking out some other reviews. Keep up the good work.
I was able to go into the store. But it was also within my 90 day return period so I believe that's what really made the process easier. But in the long run. From what I here from others as well. You just kinda walk into the store like you would harbor freight and warranty it out. If they don't have it in stock they more than likely will order it. That's why I have all of my receipts emailed to me. I can always keep up with them just in cases like these
@@EzTechJoe good to hear, that’s what I got from the box, me too lol I scan the receipt into my app as soon as that shyt prints out the machine lol, this is really the best warranty process out of any tool besides harbor freight in my opinion, none of most of my Milwaukee or Ryobi has broke yet but i imagine that’s gonna be a pain in the azz to get replaced or fixed
My experience with on road repair work, take your good tools! Broke tool in shop is an inconvenience, broken tool in the field can/will ruin the whole day.
For the price u can’t complain. I just picked up the short 3/8 on clearance for $20 with a battery and charger. I’m just using it for home but for how cheap they are u can’t go wrong. For anyone looking for information on what’s best read my comment below. I have a ton of Milwaukee cordless tools at my shop I’ve been a professional automotive technician 20+ years and shop owner, Milwaukee fuel cordless are the best I’ve used all the different brands and nothing compares, snap on is too expensive with too short of a warranty which sucks because their batteries don’t last & they are super expensive everyone I know that has snap on cordless stuff never have a battery make it to 2 years and same for the tools and last time I had snap on cordless tools the battery warranty was 1 year and tool was 2 years, I’ll never forget when they came out with their lithium tools and my close friends that had them all had to get atleast one new battery less then 1 1/2 years & they were $250 per battery. Milwaukee has a 5 year warranty on the tools and 3 years on the batteries, the first 4 tools I got are 8 years old & they came with 2 batteries one is 8 years old still going strong and one battery is about 5 years old as I got it warrantied. I have about 15 different Milwaukee tools and they get used 5 days a week.
Oh yeah? Idk. Mines have been working fine. Inuse mines everyday. I don't use it on high torqued bolts and nuts though if I do them I loosen it by hand using the hyper tough ratchet and then pull the trigger. You either have a faulty ratchet or your using it to breakaway highly torqued bolts.
Im sorry but those dont look like theyve been used 6 months in a shop. Where's the grease and dirt? Especially the one that wasnt returned. That being said i like walmart tools. Nothing wrong with saving money
I work as a professional every day. And guys see them ask to use them to sew how it feels.
