- Here will compare both Star War Battlefront Twos, one developed in 2005 by Pandemic Studios, the other in 2017 by Dice. Let's directly compare the two and find out which one is better.

Your observation about heroes in battlefront 2 2005 was wrong. You have a hero specific game mode where you run around the cantina as every hero and villain in a conquest style game mode . Something u completely missed mention was it also had indigenous hunt modes . Plus space combat and more
WOLFPACKLEADERZ The space combat in BF2 2005 has more layers than just shoot some evil starfighters, you destroy a large ship, if you want, or you could defend your ship, you could even go on their ship and blow stuff up. I’m surprised he never even touched space combat.
@@thatdieguy5310 probably because you can't compare BF2 2005 space combat with BF2 2017 space combat. Since BF2 2017 doesn't have real space combat. Just generic dogfighting in a starry skybox.
@@WillowLackett Well, there are the capital ships, but I see where you’re coming from. It is fairly generic and unless you’re playing with other people online, the AI don’t do too much to your ship.

You forgot Space Battles.... Space battles were a lot better in Battlefront 2 OG than the Battlefront 2 you can target so you can i dont know actually see your opponet and it was far more enjoyable as you are actually able to go inside the ships and cause havoc

I highly disagree with the gameplay round. Yes, battlefront 2 (2017) does feel more like a shooting game. However, classic battlefront 2 has way more than just shooting. It was extremely exploring, freeing, truly original, and was much more fun. It had vehicles on the map so you could just get in and out of it, and sabotage or repair vehicles/ships. You also have a more convenient variety of weapons and classes. You are given a primary weapon and secondary weapon being the pistol. Not to mention, the progression system and cards in the new battlefront 2 nearly broke the game. The gameplay feels more like a generic cod game as it is. Whereas, the classic battlefront 2 has a smarter progression system.

To me the old one has a place in my heart the new one is full of *star cards* and it feels too much like call of duty or halo I just hate EA and how they market things, you are buying a expensive game that requires loads of in app purchases. In my heart 2005 wins
I really disagree with the gameplay side. There are still a lot of stuff that old battlefront does better than new battlefront and it seems to not be changing anytime soon. I only started playing battlefront 2 classic recently so I’m not really burdened with nostalgia for that game in particular but I did play battlefront 1 classic as a kid.
In the old battlefront the vehicles sat there and you could load up multiple people and work as a team. You could also charge in and damage them while nobody was sitting inside if you wanted to. In the new version you had powerups and many vehicles were time based so the amount of time you could stay in a vehicle wasn’t based on your skill and ability to stay alive. It was based on a timer which would eventually kick you out. Also some of the vehicles might as well be on rail turrets since you can’t actually control how they move. In the new version if you got in a vehicle you had complete control over what it does and where it goes maybe a little limited by how many people are in it. I still remember killing rebels while piloting an atat and having to control every step I took.
In the old version it felt like a massive battle was going on with gunfire everywhere and you had to be slow and careful a lot of the time just to avoid getting killed by stray gunfire. If you were good enough you could get a lot of kills consistently but you always felt like the unnamed faceless foot soldier while playing. In the new version you see two teams slamming against each other with pro players fighting like action heroes and killing the entire enemy team. New battlefront 2 doesn’t feel like some kind of massive battle straight out of the movies or tv shows like the original battlefront does as a result.
This one is mostly subjective but I don’t like the overheating mechanics. I prefer the old way where you had to worry about how much ammo you have. You had to make every rocket and grenade count as a result.
The final one is where you are losing. I don’t think I’ve ever even heard of this in the new battlefront 2 but in the old one. Losing was still exhilarating because you knew you were screwed. You and a handful of troops can’t afford to die anymore times and you are severely outnumbered by enemies of similar quality to you. But you fight on anyway and hold a last stand like something out of a war movie as you get gunned down facing overwhelming odds.
When it comes to space. The old one there were many different things you could do. You could fly a transport into the enemy hangar so you can spawn marines into the enemy ship and sabotage them from the inside. You could hop on a turret and shoot at other fighters. Or get into a selection of fighters each with different roles like bombers for destroying the enemy ship. Or interceptors for destroying other planes. Or even a fighter for a mix of both roles. In the new version a lot of these choices aren’t available. There is no where to land, no sabotage work available. When you spawn in you’re not even in a hangar anymore. You just fly in and immediately start fighting.
I personaly like the original battlefront 2 better
You forgot about the Mos Eisely Cantina hero assault mode. That closes the conversation. Plus the old one was a game you could play by yourself or play with a friend on the couch against great A.I....versus the new one where you play against hotshots who click in ten hours a day and have their star cards fully leveled for EVEREY character and a platinum trophy. A platinum trophy for a multiplayer game. Holy hell

Ügiustus Keiserus really? I feel like I missed out so much😂I remember basically every inch of the OG Battlefront’s Cantina just from Hero Assault. I’m gonna have to find a new copy and play it again now. To see if it’s as fun as I remember.

Overall a good video for its length, and I obviously agree with the end statement, buuut! I feel like you left *A LOT* out on the game-play side of things, and narrowed it down to "Shooting feels better in the new" and "the heroes". What about classes? How pickups and such worked then vs now? Vehicle handling and equipment? Things like these would swing the Game-play in favor of the old game, too, once summed up. The AI deserves a mention as well. If you want to give the new one good points for anything credible, though, it's graphics and sound, I guess. But yes, playing solo versus AI is *still* lots of fun in the old game.

The multiple heroes thing is still something I don't like. Nothing like having the fun beat out of you by a team of heroes camping spawn doors to make you want to break your controller against a wall.

I just prefer the newer game as it feels modern and the lower I feel with the abilities giving and the selection is just amazing
The old one is better in all certain ways more characters more content more maps,weapons,and more vehicles

I mean, OG Battlefronts weren't just cod-clones / shooter games. They actually had unique and fun gameplay.
I got the new Star Wars:Battlefront recently,it's not bad.Haven't played the new Battlefront 2 but have the original Battlefront 1 and 2.Maybe I'll reinstall the original Battlefront 2 and play it.
Well now Obi-wan Kenobi and general grievous....are in the game now also at the end of January and February we're getting count Dooku and Anakin Skywalker

TAOP The 2005 Star Wars Battlefront 2 is better than the new one for a lot of reasons. For one it offers a lot more than the new one and the Campaign in the old Battlefront 2 is better.

TAOP The story is better in the old Battlefront 2 than the new one. The old is about the journey of the 501st from the perspective of a clone trooper. While the new one doesn’t make sense. It’s a elite soldier in the empire that leaves and joins the Rebels, which was bad because people wanted the perspective of the Empire and not another Rebel story
