Great to meet you at UKgE and you ooze fun. Looking forward to playing Hobgoblin once I’ve read through the amazing book assuming I don’t get distracted by the illistrations!
Congratulations on the UKGE success, very well deserved! Mike, you’re equal parts inspirational and intimidating - and I mean that in the best way possible! Maybe it’s because you make it look so easy (which I’m certain it isn’t, appreciating all the work you put in).
Haha! I’ll happily take the inspirational part! One of my secrets is that behind every success lies about forty failures that I just have to slide past and not get hung up on.
It’s honestly so freeing to think in these terms. I write at least one new miniatures game a month, and 90% of them go nowhere, but I learn something from each (or just have fun).
I couldn’t make games expo this year due to work commitments but I wish I had. I’ve been waiting for the release of hobgoblin and so I’ve been picking up old citadel miniatures and old white metal miniatures like Harry the hammer so I can field an army of classics.
You mentioned that Pacific Command uses poker chips rather than minis. Do you have any sort of tie-in planned such as pre-printed stickers or even chips?
It is released digitally, and published, and was available to buy at UKGE, but we held back general availability until we complete shipping to backers.
Ohhhhhhh yeahhhhh 🤦🏼♂️ I forgot you put the PDF out because I was waiting to buy a hardcopy, my bad. I think I was mainly confused why it’s in $ and held back
So nice to meet you again. Huge congrats on the clean sweep at the UK Games Expo!

Thanks!
Just listened to your podcast - I used to get the Citadel Journal as well!
That's amazing, congrats again!
Great to see your progress!

@@planetsmashergames so therein lies the secret - I’ll get to work on the first of my failures immediately!

Demo game absolutely sold my friend on the game and we'll be playing a few games in the week!
Hey, praise for Garlands from the guy who made Car Wars is pretty cool!
Also...
"I've got one word for you, Mike: Ogre."
😁
He was a total gent. I wish we’d had time to hang out properly.
Congratulations Mike
Congrats on the wins! It's well deserved!

Oh! That’s rad.

I’ve thought about it. It would probably be an easy thing to source, so it depends if I have set up a webstore by then.
Yeah I'm interested as well and happy to see this new, faster take on WW2 naval warfare that's been happening.
Am I being super dumb here (probably) but How do you win an award for a game that’s not out yet 😂🤷🏻♂️

Kickstarter makes everything more complicated. 🫠
