That's my dad's 84 Subaru that we used to boonie-bash with in high school out on the Montana prairie. -The fucker would go ANYWHERE, up gumbo draws, coulees, awesome 50-degree hills... until the night you high-center the son of a bitch... (16 is way too immature to have a license.) Then we walked 4 miles back to town in the pitch-black night for a friend to pull us out with a Scout, and I had to make up a story why I was washing it at 8 in the morning on a Saturday... I felt so terrible. Oh man, the memories. Thanx for posting!
Jason Carpp these old Subaru GL's were actually a true 4x4. They came with a FF layout with a dual range 4x4. Some even came with an LSD but those were pretty rare.
@boxer3main It's definitely a carb'd GL. It's got a Weber carb on it. The body is rusted out underneath pretty badly. Not really a good candidate for long term use or eventual restoration. It's been lifted, which is why the suspension might not look right. I think this car is at home out in the woods. Better than spending it's life in the wrecking yard for sure.
rule #1 of wheeling subarus, remove your taillights before you start.and put them on the inside so they can be seen but are also protected. nice car though.
no disadvantage at all. i have an 1986 wagon and i can do whatever any jeep,toyota, land rover can do anywhere, anytime. what he truly needs is an RHB5 at10 psi and winter tires. no more struggle anymore after that. he actually needs to remove the sway bars to get more articulation
And he drove it to a car wash then home and posted it on Craigslist, The add reads adult owned never off road great subaru for sale bought from a little old lady drove it to church and i barely drove it at all 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
