That panel with karli saying “No choice… truly?” Is already one of my fav in the series. Seeing thorfinns impact on people is the best
At the very least it seems that Gudrid and their children are getting out safely; no way everyone makes it out (thorfinn, Einar, Hilde, and Cordelia are all in very real danger), but I expect thorfinn will get patched up at least somewhat, so that he can play a role in the climax of the entire manga, which I feel we’re probably under 10 chapters away from at this point. The end is coming fast, and I can’t wait to see what Yukimura has planned
I really appreciate that Vinland Saga isn’t so easily predictable, like at this point we have so many opportunities that could happen. I only want that Thorfinn meets his son 😭
Man, this arc. I adore it now, it’s so so farmland coded.
As for what’s next? I just can’t see Thorfinn living to make it home. I see a last stand where he defends the rest of the evacuation after maybe some sort of temporary “band aid” treatment from Miskwekepu’j (as in, maybe some sort of herb that increases adrenaline or something idk).
As for a final Thorfinn and Einar confrontation? I have no idea.
On one side, Thorfinn and Einar dying as brothers in the land they tried to build would be tragically poetic. But I want someone to return home to tell the story of Thorfinn in full.
As of now, if the “Bug Eyes is the historical Thorfinn” narrative turns out to be true, we still have more evacuations to be made.
The next chapter cannot come soon enough. Yukimura truly has blown me away in the latter half of this arc.

Thorfinn and Einar face each other and the atmosphere is tense.

I keep remembering how Thors and Askeladd deaths. How they sacrifice themselves die protecting something dear to them.
Either drop the how and add an 's or died instead of deaths.

Dropped the series years ago
Gao'oki is setup to be the main antagonist that is going to face Thorfinn in the end, so I don't see how Einar would even consider fighting him. Or if he would even stand a chance against him even if he's injured.
I also don't see Thorfinn dying awkardly in the final stretch of the story, something tells me that his journey will not end in Vinland. My prediction is that the shaman will have to talk to thorfinn and come to a mutual understanding. Both of them are reasonable people, and because of that he will heal Thorfinn, although he will have to wait until a few days for the wound to close naturally. I can see the Lnu either capturing Einar and the rest so they can get information or the Nords actually holding up until the reincorcements arrive. In any case, I still think this confrontation will not be the last just yet.

Man, each chapter recently has had me nervous from the moment I see it posted. While every thing leads me to believe the story of Thorfinn will end in Vinland, I can’t help but hold onto hope of his survival. Regardless of his fate, I am more than hyped at the idea of Thorfinn coming in and gracefully making light work of the attacking forces all while every one looks on in amazement and regret for ever doubting him. For they can call Thorfinn’s ideals foolish all they want but they’ll soon realize that if they held such overwhelming strength themselves the “impossible” would quickly look very probable.
Thorfin will fight the Lnu swordless paralleling Thors vs askelad crew. He will win fair and square but something tragic will happen .
Would be a great full circle moment.
Cant wait for the next one.

Im calling it now if it turns out to be full out war if it couldn't be stopped it will be bigger then baltic sea and the war in first arc, but maybe it could be stopped😅 but i would like to see another war for the last arc

Hild coming to terms with her revenge plans & Thorfinn's idealism failing in a nice fire/dream sequence in one of the last chapters . Otherwise very little reason, the serie dropped awfully after the 3rd arc and the new 'villains' suck ass to hard that they feel straight out of a pg13 toon, they are very 'rage baity' and Thorfinn's ignorance start to put everyone in danger before they even set to sea. it feels now like a pain to read, you know damn well nothing happening now should happen, it's a PG mess now.
Because the manga is almost done idk?😅
Maybe we'll just skip it like their journey across the Mediterranean.
