Those skull openers were pretty sweet. Being a self taught novice, youtube blacksmiths like yourself really help a lot when i can see "detailed" project or instructional videos for blacksmithing. I think a great boon to my abilities would be to get to spend a day or two with a pro.
Tim you should twist the crap out of it ladder pattern it and rain drop pattern it all at once to see the pattern you get and a sweet bowie would be the prize at the end.... Martin M&S Blades

*_Scrapmascus !!!_* Since you were wondering what to call it, I vote for *_scrapmascus !!_* That came out as a really pretty billet !! I love the big dots from the chain, those would contrast really well against some twisted Damascus in a knife... my mind is leaking out of my skull !!!
So no thoughts on *scrapmascus?* I thought it was pretty good.... 😢

Multiply the layers and/or add a twist, and I think you have a billet for a really cool project. Can't wait to see what you do with it. Love watching your videos; way beyond my ability and skull power, but entertaining.

I think it's amazing what you can do with the metals. The Damascus you've made is beautiful. I really liked the skull damascus you forged. I look forward to all your videos. I would, so much, love to give blacksmithing a try. Seeing what you can do, I think I'll remain a spectator and admirer for now. I'm too old and "damaged" to try new things, especially as demanding as your work. Keep it up. As I said, you are amazing.

Tim, you and Shawn have inspired me to build a log splitter press. The stand is made and the press is sitting on it. Pump is hooked up to the motor and ready to go. Next weekend I'll work on the anvils and guide, and hopefully be ready to make some skull billets.

I am slowly attempting to wrap my empty skull around Cable Damascus. So far you are the only person I've ever seen open it up to flux the inside. Something I think I'm going to have to try and play with for a while. Cheers bud.

your skull billet was cool but i really like this layer look. makes look more earthen... like layers of different racks and sand. i am going to have to grab some stuff from the ol scrap pile and see what comes out.

Wow that is the first time I have seen sizing guides used. Makes sense that they would work since they are hard from being cold. I feel like such a number skull.

Lol you explain that saw in every video its used in. I dont blame you with how people can be in the comments. I made one myseld out of an old black n decker chop saw until i got my hand on a 14 inch Milwaukee metal chop saw for 15 bucks about 4 years ago.

Pattern came out really cool it's amazing to see all the different layera. I also really like the skull pattern in a previous video.
You should do some kitchen cutlery and maybe collaborate with a woodworker to make a knife block. And possibly incorporate a "skull" in the design. Great work forging out that stuff, you make it look easy.
That cable flux trick was bad ass. Never seen that done by anyone.
