- Here is a Eric Marienthal Transcription on Spain, which I posted years ago as one of the very first on this channel. I revised some lines and it was an old lay out, so here is the updated version of this terrific two chorusses solo on Spain, with the Chick Corea Elektric Band live at Montreux jazz festival in 2004.
I did also a case study/analysis on this one which you might like if you like this solo, so check it out here: • How to Improvise On Sp...

What a legendary solo! What a player! Thanks Jorre!
You're welcome 😀
Ooooooh, I love how Eric reincorporated the melody at the end of his solo! That was a beautiful way to end a statement!
what a beautiful solo, i have no words
Yeah. It really sings!
There is no way someone can redo this
This is one of my very first transcriptions, (Jorre speaking here), that was also initially one of the first transcriptions to feauture on this channel, with a pre-historic Finale 2006 lay out... It was also uploaded earlier by a UA-cam channel that downloaded the file when it was on Charles McNeal's amazing website, among the "friends transcriptions" list where I submitted it. Years later I found it here on UA-cam uploaded by the "Vamor Tocar Sax?" channel. It might have been nice if they first contacted me and/or credited me as the transcriber. I probably would have said yes.
Anyhow, this is a updated version, as I don't agree with my past self completely. Bit more accurate and nicer in lay-out. In case you haven't seen, I did a little case study on this one here: ua-cam.com/video/iu9aMs7avlM/v-deo.html
Enjoy!
This is exactly why what you guys are doing is so brave. Years into the future, tons of music schools (which actually teach something and not just beginners or scam schools) will be using your transcriptions as their foundation. Even if it means taking screenshots of each video fragment and compiling it together in paint. I firmly believe in infoanarchism but I also know you guys deserve way more support and I will keep commenting like a madman even if people will start thinking I'm a paid a**licker :D
hahaha, thanks so much man! It absolutely does help, the comments, an also the support, so thank you again. I'm not sure where the future is going, although online schooling will be more and more a thing. Now we still have to manage all this besides all the rest we do to try to get a minimum income, but at least there is some fun in it. The case now is that's it's spring break here in Belgium + Covid 19 lockdown, that's why you'll definitely more content the coming days (new transcription on the way tomorrow).
Sharp Eleven Music thanks so much!
Great Transcription man
Solo Fantástico. show 1000
Your transcriptions look way better than mine’s 😁😁
I came from far. Finale 2006 to 2010 now. Patience, your time will come 😉
Meh, thats okay. So long as I can read my chicken scratch 😂. I do mostly guitar transcriptions and they can be quite notey as I’m sure you can imagine 👍🏽. Enjoying your content ✌🏽
@@bluessax5089 That's cool, keep it up! 🙌
Hi guys,
am trying to transcribe this beautiful solo for guitar and this is my first time doing this thing :) Would you please confirm if it's ok to transpose every note by raising to a minor third (for guitar)? E.g: first note which is F# for alto sax, becomes A. Thanks.
Hi Daniele! Yes, if you're transposing from a Alto Sax in Eb to C-instruments, F# on Alto becomes an A. G becomes a Bb and so on. Not sure if you want to transpose it yourself by means of exercise, bit since you are on the membership program i can also send you the C transposed version if you like
@@SharpElevenMusic that would save my some aspirins :) Yes pls, am the same guy you sent the fusion solo book but if you need my email address let me know.
Hey I was wondering if u can make one with the letter of the notes it would be very helpful
Hello, could you send me the solo transcribed down a whole step? We are playing a combo arrangement of Spain in C in my jazz class and I want to try my hand at this solo.
Is it in C?
Ah, that's interesting. I sometimes see Spain notated in half time but I notice you notated it with the faster tempo in mind. Personally, I like to see it written down the way you have but I feel it in the half time.
