Celebrating with trains at Northampton 23/5/2024

Filled with positive energy I head out to Northampton early on Thursday 23rd May to capture trains from Wilson's Farm level crossing to Far Cotton Viaduct. Northampton Castle railway station sits in-between both of these points and I time it just right to capture the "Chelsea Flower Show Express" rail tour pass by.
The Caledonian Sleeper made an unexpected return after letting me down in the morning and the "Flying Banana" driven by a local legend of Northampton stops by with H&S executives on board. Then by the time I reached the viaduct, trains had been diverted off the mainline ready for me to capture the action.

This is a very novice question, but as there are ticket barriers at Northampton do you end up buying a ticket you don't need in order to get down to the platforms? Like a ticket to Long Buckby?

Nope but it is down to station staffs discretion. If you don't look like a spotter you ain't getting through.
