This is one of the rarest songs, this version is different from the one on the Peel Sessions CD.

I've been listening to X mal D for 30 years. Until today I have not got bored. Not only that, I still feel the atmosphere today. They were and are wonderful.

Love her voice .. precious Anja .. the morose tone of her voice is so depressing yet I absolutely love it ........ she expresses my outlook on life quite often . However the older I get , I need to be more positive

My copy didn't have the lyric sheet booklet in it - so I got in touch with Anja and she gave me one of her last copies. Loved this band SO much, I'm not ashamed to say I became one of their groupies. :D Manuela Rickers - I still want to fall at your feet to Stummes Kind! xxx
The lyric sheet came with the Matador 12", not with the Sequenz 12". That's why yours didn't have it. =)
@@KervinSequenz I'm 59, you have to forgive any lapse of memory since the early '80's. All I know is that Anja sent me the lyric sheet to make me a happy little Goth at the time! ;)

A swirling, entrancing darkness
Keyboards from Fiona Sangster on this are great. However, like others commenting here, the vocals are really different and haunting on this recording. I cannot understand why so many of my friends at the time hated X-Mal Deutschland. One girlfriend even took a pair of scissors to my first copy of Viva and scored deep gouges across every track. I can't remember her, but Anja still sounds fresh 35 years later. Needless to say I have a new copy now.

Bloody hell, Ian. Talk about taking things too far! Why? Anja's vocals are, admittedly, sometimes flat (especially on the early stuff), but she always sounds captivating, enchanting even... like the Loreley on her rock. When directed against music, art, or anything whose beauty is in the "eye of the beholder", such hate is simply wasted energy. The mind boggles! Anyway, I'm glad that you found another copy of the LP. Believe it or not, my Dad bought every X-Mal release that I have (i.e.: the lot, save for the first two singles on ZickZack) over a period of time starting from circa 1993 at car boot sales. He even came across the rare CD of "Devils" for me around five years ago!
Quick advice : stay away from ' friends ' with scissors
She had a great voice, but the way she sings, her melodic lines are always too random...this band could have been great with another singer...

Thanks so much for posting this. I have this record (yes the VINYL, buried in storage) and it has been burning a hole in my head for the past several days if not weeks. I couldn't find a rip of it but at least now I get to hear it again. Thank you!

Beside Peel sessions I have another version on tape (buried here somewhere) with distorted slap bass... do you have any idea what version of Autumn could that be?
