I agree with you, Ryan - it is a great game. We have had some games end by putting 5 or 6 assistants on the church or customs boards. It depends on which strategies everyone is pursuing. We have not yet triggered endgame by building all shops or trading posts, but putting out many buildings for the points does look like a viable alternate strategy.
This is my favorite game from this year and I have multiple plays in it and actually with my groups we have yet to trigger the end of the game due to the contract cards. The game always ends with the workers on the Church/Customs Board or because all of the shops have been built. I have also played multiple strategies and been able to win multiple ways. It is easier than it looks like Ryan said and the reason I love the game so much is the modular board with the modular building card on each. The power of 5 tokens are random every game too just as the order in which the cards that come out in the technology and contract boards come out are as well. Every game you play is set up completely different similarly to Istanbul (which I also love). I can not recommend this game enough. Thank you Ryan for a great run down of the game and review!
Welcome back. I'm not sure my table is large enough for this game, and I have trouble believing it takes 90 min. Looks like 2+ hours for my AP friends. Can you persuade me more?
Really great to see you back Ryan! I look forward to more of your videos. ^_^
Favorite game reviewer ever. Have missed your reviews!
Long time no see, Ryan! Great to see your review again.
